Is he back?

So critics are going ape shit over Hacksaw Ridge

>Mel Gibson's 'act of atonement' is 'gruesome' and 'powerful'
>You’ll be hearing the word “comeback” a lot in reference to Mel Gibson and his latest directorial effort, Hacksaw Ridge.
> Gibson's forceful comeback is a violent drama about pacifism that succeeds in combining horror with grace.

He never left.

CG looks like shit, guess the jews wiped their asses with the 10 dollar bill he got for budget.

Years after Mel's death, this is going to go down as one of the greatest films of all-time. Too bad it doesn't currently have that recognition.

Apocalypto's sets and props were faker than Waterworld's. Popeye-tier. It ruined the movie and prevents it from ever being considered a masterpiece.

Viking-kino when?

Prepare for Sup Forums and the likes complaining about it.

Looks pretty good to me (the cgi, story/acting looks like shit)

You post this in every thread. Stop.

Never noticed. Haven't seen it in years, but I remember it being visually stunning.

Christcucks on suicide watch

Who do you think made this thread?

>muh atheism

when will this meme die

I saw the trailer for Hacksaw Ridge yesterday when I saw Hell or High Water and it looked like shit. Andrew Garfield sucks and his american good ol boy accent is awful.

>muh /pool/

The real dude was such a badass the Army wanted to pad his accomplishments, so much so that he had to haggle them down from like 100 troops saved to 50

>It’s not possible to say if Hacksaw Ridge contains the most violent or gruesome combat scenes ever filmed, but let’s just say it resembles Paul Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers without any of the satire or audience-winking.

Why would Sup Forums have a problem with a movie about a white Catholic man who follows his faith that's directed by a white Catholic man?

Yeah, the accents are like a spoof. Also WW2 and Vietnam movies are an overdone dead genre now. I can;t think of anything less interesting than yet another "untold" WW2 story.

it's also wildly historically inaccurate and fell for the "chosen one" meme. that combined with subtitles will ensure it'll never be embraced by the mainstream.

>a white Catholic man

If he's white then so is the entire middle east

Sup Forums hates Mel Gibson, they have zero tolerance for antisemitism or racism over there. They prefer celebs like Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer.

Based Mel.
Iron Man 4 and Viking epic WHEN

but people with faith are morally superior to nihilistic atheists who don't give a fuck about anything.

we could of had another super hero movie but instead we get this boring ass grampa movie
ww2 was like 100 years ago get over it s m h

>I can;t think of anything less interesting than yet another "untold" WW2 story.

How about Generic Capeshit Movie #3?

>white Catholic man

7 day Adventist actually, don't give credit to those dickloppers

>blood father
>hacksaw ridge

Where were you when Mel Gibson saved 2016?

>Intransigence

She only knows that word from watching the Spelling Bee episode of The Simpsons, guaranteed.

So cliche war movies or superhero movies are our only two options? wtf, i hate movies now

How is a conscientious objector medic a ww2 cliche?

Partly, Sup Forums inherited the 20th-century tradition of militant anti-Catholic bigotry, which presented the church as a vehicle for tyranny, paganism, immorality, persecution and every anti-Christian force. Sup Forums rehearsed the ancient charges of American nativism about Catholic evils, including the Inquisition, the seditious secret oaths taken by the Knights of Columbus, and the conspiratorial nature of the Jesuit order. So much was familiar—but from the 1890s the US experienced a mass immigration largely derived from Eastern and Central Europe, and newer groups were heavily Catholic and Jewish in character.

In the Sup Forums view, surging Catholic power threatened to overwhelm American society and values. In the previous century, the Church in the United States had grown from fifty thousand adherents and 35 priests to twenty million faithful with a vast network of clergy, schools and seminaries. Catholic strength was founded on “Alienism,” “the unassimilated hordes of Europe,” which threatened American racial purity. The nightmare was that all Americans would someday be subjected to Catholic tyranny, and that a Catholic would someday attain the presidency.

Looking at Sup Forums today, two points strike us most forcefully. One is the near-total oblivion that has overcome the religious element, so that even Sup Forums themselves today recruit Catholics, and deny that Sup Forums ever felt differently. Secondly, immigrants (and their faiths) rapidly became assimilated into American life. Today, we scoff at the charges Sup Forums made against the Catholic or Jewish newcomers, and how they declared that such alien populations as Poles and Irish, Slovaks and Italians could never become truly American. A generation or two later, those immigrant families had themselves become hyper-American, so that even Sup Forums could not fault their devoted patriotism.

For your information Terrence Malick already made a movie about unrealistic faggot characters in WWII.

Don't you mean Vietnam?

>humanist convictions

Says the choad that paid to see Hell or High Water. Loser.

Seems like a complete cunt

The real question is, will Armond White like it?

I would be fucking surprised to see a negative review of his for Apocalypto

>le mel gibson is a good director meme
May I remind you that this SCUMBAG is antisemitic?

>We might get Mel's viking epic.

Finally.

Find a film critic/art major that isn't.

>Cast of The Hangover refused to work with Mel over his rants
>Worked with convicted rapist Mike Tyson repeatedly.

...

Mel beat his wife and destroyed private property while drunk driving, it's not like he's only just said things

SAVE US MEL

>Everybody lines up to work with Woody Allen and Polanski
>They'll give Nate Parker an Oscar on the same stage Lady Gaga did that performance with rape victims
Hollywood has no values.

You like MDE, don't you?

he's still a good guy though, just had weak moments

>beat his wife and destroyed private property

Source me up family.

Unless you are talking about just the recorded tapes. If thats the case, just place your opinion firmly into the trash.

I didn't even know Mel was making another film, and a WWII flick to boot. Hype as fuck, he was always one of hollywoods best directors but was cut down in his prime due to a few stupid mistakes

How do you get arms like that? They look like weapons.

Lots of curls and pull ups

I'm sure these Hollywood liberals will rescind their 'refugeeswelcome' stances then on they basis that women are mistreated in Oslam.

Would you say, Lethal Weapons?

BIG

fug that's a pretty nice poster

Tu quoque by three level proxy? Fuck off, nigger. You have no defense of Mel Gibson.

>christian themes in movie
>better give it bad review

Could these people be any more insecure? You can disagree with an ideology but still appreciate the message of pacifism and how it is portrayed.

what up Oksana

>In May 2011, Oksana Grigorieva dropped claims of domestic abuse against Mel Gibson. The sheriff's investigators on the domestic violence case initially recommended that Grigorieva be charged with extortion because she used the assault as a means to extract money from Gibson.

im a big fan of gibson, but it looks pretty shit desu.

well made for sure, but the vibe reminds me of war horse.

First movie I've hyped for in a very long time.

He never beat her. And she was exactly what he was calling her, she purposely antagonized him and then recorded the response so it would appear as if she hadn't done anything. She was scum and following the lawyer to the T so that she could get as much money from him as possible.

>she used the assault
What assault was that?

hasnt he been back for a while now?

he starred in a movie recently

The one she made up to get more money.

>Try to extort Mel Gibson for hundreds of millions
>He offers you 15 million to go away
>You turn it down
>Sheriff's department investigating your "abuse" find no evidence
>Nothing you fire off in court actually sticks.
>End up settling for SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.
>Lost at least half that a months later because you can't keep your mouth shut.

Holy fucking just.

This doesn't look made up to me. It looks like Mel Gibson, the drunk who drives cars drunk and abuses people nonstop all the time, may have struck her on the face. Maybe not though, you never know, she might have fallen.

The very ideal of masculinity right there

Based mel uncucks america when

Query: What if Mel Gibson was always working for the Jews even when he flipped out? I mean judging from the amounts of anti-Semites that browse Sup Forums they are a significant demographic. What if good ole Mel is some sort of Crypto-Jew?

>mel fell for slav women meme
Only thing he did wrong in his life

Since this is a Mel thread, any essential Mel Kino?

med mex cant

This. Jews had him removed when his directorial streak was still going.

...

We Were Soldiers is a manly fucking movie.

Anything directed by him is fucking great as well, even if its not necessarily that accurate. The Patriot is pretty manly if you can handle the characterizations are fiction.

youtube.com/watch?v=ctnK7wdJmAo

Rare Mel kino. Watch the director's cut.

Roland Emmerich (one of the best directors around) directed The Patriot.

Glad to see Mel back

such a great movie. statham destroyed the character imo
also, the one where he's paranoid with Julia Roberts and the one where they kidnap his son

Ransom too teebee h

blood father also looks really good

he is giving us the double mel kino this year

How does Mel keep fighting jews?

How does he do it?

>6.6 average rating
Kek. It's shit.

I like the production design and acting but this movie sucks, its story is incredibly stupid and relies on a genuine, actual prophecy (already a stupid decision) more moronic than Star Wars

They are using him for their own agenda.

doesn't mean much to me that you think that since i don't believe in morals and if anything it makes me laugh that you desperately cling to any reason to feel better than someone who tells you the truth you wish to deny

i think mel's cool regardless of his beliefs but i also think he's a pretty bad director. all the movies he has directed have been bad. maybe this one won't be but i doubt it. garfield sucks and pacifism is for pussies

It's literally impossible to be morally superior to anyone when divine reward is the motivation for all your good deeds.

WE WUZ KIANGZ

I just want him to be able to make that Viking movie he was developing a couple years ago

Id risk my career as a crane operator to pick that guy up off the ground by that retarded thing

>woke woke woke
is this the next negro meme like swag, yolo and famm? I hate it

>As repellent a figure as many may still find Gibson, I have to report he's absolutely hit Hacksaw Ridge out of the park.

LET ME JUST ADD SOMETHING ABOUT POLITICS TO MY MOVIE REVIEW REAL QUICK

Oh man, that's a great fucking Joke. Wish I had that much balls.

i learned something today.

>crane operator
> career

I many years did you spend on the crane operator school?

wtf just looked this up and it's true

How the fuck can a leech JUST so hard? 15 fucking million...
