How do so many of you from non English speaking countries know such good English? Like I see most foreigners here writing in damn near perfect English, coherent sentences and everything. Is English practically taught everywhere?

because it's the lingua franca

"To know your Enemy, you must become your Enemy"

English is pretty easy to learn. Why do you think Americans sort of know it?

all here very good english start learn age 9, thanks you

I learned English by watching Jean Claude van Damme movies as a 11ish year old kid the internet did the rest.
It's so easy to learn this shouldn't surprise you that much.

mehmed ?

A lot of words in the English language come from other countries. Also, English, like the American dollar is the backbone of almost all Nations. Additionally, an accent is hard to detect in text.

>Is English practically taught everywhere?

Yes.

English is probably the easiest language to learn. Half of America barely knows English anyway so what's the difference

What I want to know is how many of you think in English during and after posting on Sup Forums and for how long.

>Is English practically taught everywhere?
Yes, but also I'm a friendless NEET who grew up right here on the American part of the internet and in front of Nickelodeon.

We have amazing public schooling system, most kids in Finland know atleast 3 languages as they grow up.
And yes, english is taught pretty much everywhere.

Also the secret ingredient to good english is vidya.

>english
>dutch
very, very closely related
also
>Foreign series are just subbed, not dubbed

Yall is bitches

In my experience this is key. Shithole countries where everything is subbed never learn amazing english. In countries like netherlands, belgium, finland etc where they sub, english levels are way better.

>Like I see most foreigners here writing damn near perfect English, coherent sentences and everything.

Because English is an easy language

>Is English practically taught everywhere

Yeah, mostly. Some countries are more familiar with French, Spanish and Portuguese than English, but English is still the most spoken language.

kek'd

first thing i remember being taught by my late dad (R.I.P)

A for Apple

What was L for?

>Serbia has Russian flag
>Yugoslavia exists
Ok

Is it really that easy? There are so many exceptions to rules and words that sound the same. I would think it would be pretty hard. Not like Japanese but still

This so much.

What is P for?

Maga kek

...

You basically have male, female, and gender-neutral versions for every fucking way to refer to things. There's five ways to say the in German, for example.

i don't think people who can't speak english would come to an english speaking board, more so to consider posting.

I don't know any languages besides english, but I assume it's because english is a very simple language to learn, structurally speaking.

The only hard part about english is the fact that spelling and pronunciation often don't match, but that doesn't matter in text. Other than that, it's an incredibly simple language. Compare the number of english conjugations vs. other languages.

Yeah but to just be coherent is easy. These people aren't posting in any scholarly articles anytime soon.

The British immigrated to Argentina in large numbers and built a lot of private schools. Most private schools here follow this Anglo-Argentine model and are bilingual, teaching English from kindergarten up to college, starting when kids are 3 years old.

Public schools provide a more limited English, starting at 6 years old, but also expect the student to be able to speak fluently by the time they reach college.

world of Warcraft guild chat probably sharpened up a few peoples English skills

This.

nerd

because unlike america we dont have shit education systems that only enable people to speak 1 language while still misspelling things like

loose instead of lose
their instead of they're
irregardless instead of regardless

also u have to thank the british empire for spreading this pink monkey speech everywhere

Don't suck on our foreigner dick you queer. We just know that.

I stared at Kindergarten, I consider myself a very good speaker and listener, but my writing sucks because Spanish is easy af to write if you know the rules, English on the other hand is a phonetical nightmare for me
>Thank God for spellingcheck

All movies, tv shows, music and so forth are in English. Denmark is a small country so we don't dub English-speaking movies, unlike for instance Germany and France.
Also, when you're 6 and start school, you'll have English classes all the way till high school and in the university many of your classes and almost all the books will be in English..

I learned american while serving in the US marines while operating in Iraq searching for WMDs and Osmama Bin Laden.

OORAH

How do you speak english? English is the language of england, you clearly stole it from them. You don't even speak the fucking language of the native people of your land.

>shit education system
You mean niggers in the education system. Take out the niggers and performance is on par with European schools.

IQ 80 niggers can't into education no matter what system you have in place.

Playing vydia.

>Mercator
JUST

Sup Forumsacks represent a small portion of the community. Most of the people in my countries can't even speak Hebrew that well
> tfw I'm better than most people

Easy to understand + learnt since primary school in every single european country.

I'm more shocked knowing most people in america only know one language

Umm, are you retarded?

>Most of the people in my countries can't even speak Hebrew that well
stooooop

We are found easy to understand english here in france country.
Not very that hard once you start it at school in young age because child memory is better than adult memory for remembering the tongue

i dreamed of moving and living the american dream, but then the socialist came and tanked the economy destroying my saves, now im stuck here forever

Reporting in! Cartoons were in english, computer games in english, I am engaged in online chatting since mirc was a thing. This is pretty rare though most of romanians don't know english that well, and if they try to speak it they have this russian accent or some shit like that, talking like robots... so it's just a few

Winkel-Tripel for lyf

well i know the basics from school, but the most from online gaming and movies

english is a good language to hear and speak (except british and australian english)

בא לפה הרבה?

You can study on your own as well and yes, it's taught everywhere.

Very true! Vidya is a good way to learn basically any language. That's how I'm studying Spanish now.

I learned English from Starcraft and Diablo's chat. Learning proper pronounciation was a bit harder but I learned that too from voice chats like Ventrilo

Why Argentines and Dominicans are the two LatAm countries are higher than any other LatAm countries on English proficiency?

Listen cock sucker. My school required a foreign language in consecutive years in middle school and high school. I can understand spic speak very well.

>browse Sup Forums for years
>go from mediocre english to fluent

meant to say country, not countries
oops
point still stands though

Learned english playing Runescape and watching Cartoon network when i was young.

easiest fuckin language ever you write what you hear and it fits perfectly.

Well of course we have to learn english because we're basically the United States' bitch. But I learned my english mostly through video games and watching shows in english. I'm sure most people that've seen a movie in spanish knows how absolutely abhorrent the audio quality is, and how inaccurate the translations can be. School just sharpened most of the english I knew already.

I had a very strict english teacher in highschool, so I had to do my english homework everyday. Also my dad used to burn me cd's of original south park episodes in late 00's. Then lots of traveling, online vidya and chans. And now I even dream in english most of the time.

I was taught English since third grade. I sucked shit at it until the seventh grade because I didn't care. After I got into metal music I just had this infatuation with figuring out lyrics and thus my appreciation for the English language was born.

Also the internet helped a lot, especially Sup Forums. I could have easily stayed on a German imageboard, which I also do, but I mainly shitpost here because.

Most people never need to speak a different language here because we don't have ten different countries surrounding us. The canucks speak English and all 50 states speak English. A second language is pointless. Most people near the Mexican border ussually know both though.

Yeah I don't know about this desu. All the school that I know in Virginia required students to learn another language.

TFW speak english and spanish

TFW you can understand cartel murder videos

now if only i can understand ISIS videos

P IS FOR POO.

I learned English while playing MMOs and watching subbed anime. The English courses I had at school and during my apprenticeship were practically useless because I was always at least a year in advance on the program.

I've been reading and writing English for so long that I often forget the corresponding French words when I'm typing stuff.
