wow santana looks like shit these days
Is esoteric riffing in the style of DsO, Portal, Pyrhhon, etc. the only way to innovate now in metal outside the usual non-genre related gimmick innovations like Liturgy? Why not more use of electronics? With the right use of electronic effects (the more dark/industrial type instead of cheese synths), we can have more visceral and meaty riffs than ever before. Yet all we have is Godflesh's minimal drum machine with occasional effects, the IDM drums of Whourkr, and Satan knows how many bands with awful synth work.
If you have the time to criticize shit you don't like, make your own.
That comment took a minute to make, what kind of retard logic is this
ill give you something visceral and meaty

the next stage of black metal evolution
I love every band in my post minus Liturgy. Also I prefer doing electronic production even if I enjoy metal more as a genre to listen to since I don't need extra band members, metal's kinda stagnant, and I haven't touched my guitar in a long time.
I pretty much only listen primarily to Slavic bands connected to the NS scene (Nokturnal Mortum, M8l8th, Dark Fury, Hate Forest).
What does /metal/ think of the Ocean? I personally think that Fluxion is better than Aeolian, and the rest of their discography just sort of pales more and more after that.
Are LARPING natsocs the new Fedoras?
Being an anti racist is the most nu male thing you can do.
Reminder to listen to Caladan Brood
...
lol it all looks the same and im sure it all sounds the same too
Can someone explain this pizza thrash meme? How could a band with Dave Witte in it be bad?
Does anyone have an opinion on the new Cradle of Filth album? It took me off guard with it's more technical guitar play and I actually like it.
...
Those are some fucking RL Stine Goosebumps covers
...
choose your own riff-venture
Is that new Limbonic Art any good?
I do every once in a while.
check my list of flops
got any suggestions?
thanks man, these look promising
How do we go from this
to this?
God is this what that cunt is up to now? What a disgrace.
The Call of the Hood
Is Opera IX still a band?
Apparently so. Their most recent album is just a bunch of re-recordings of old songs.
Is this the best symphonic/power metal album ever recorded?
that's because electronics usually sound like fucking garbage mixed with metal
and when it's actually done tastefully, you either can't really tell (Meshuggah's Catch 33) or it sounds more like clever editing (The Body's All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood)
Fuck, I'm listening to Darkspace III right now
>3.17
HNNNNGGH
Despite their name, Symphony X is more prog than symphonic.
I'd probably give that title to Luca Turilli's Prophet of the Last Eclipse.
It is really good shit m8
>Best symphonic
No

>Best power
Also no

Antifa is the eternal fedora.
What's the best album /metal/ general has ever recced you?
Listening to some Voivod right now. Anyone else find their vocalist weak as fuck and the drums failing to be energetic/badass except for drum fill parts? A pity considering how good their riffs are.
Nvm Voivod's drummer is sick as fuck. He was just holding back on Experiment. Their vocalist still weak though.
Does anyone have a 320kbps download for this album?
>electronics mixed with metal
check out the new wittr

Yeah, too bad Dimension Hatross didn't feature unlistenable metalcore/brutal death metal vocals. That would have really fit the tone.
yes
...
Nah dude, like something with more personality than what's there. I would prefer if he had that pseudo harsh thing the death/thrashers did, but if he wanted to stay clean at least like add dynamics or have range in your vocals or something.
Looks like you'll just have to buy it like I did.
i am robing you of yor album
aw yea dude i LOVE [video unavailable]
Voivod is a better than any other band you listen to. They are also an acquired taste, so in the meantime keep your femininity to yourself.
>accusing me of femininity when I am calling out the vocalist for not matching up to the manliness and intensity of the music that backs him
they deleted the video in between when I posted that and when you tried to click it because they're weird
>I am calling out the vocalist
Who cares who you call out? Especially when this is your first time listening to this band.
The person replying to me this whole time.
What Doom/Stoner albums have the fucking grimiest riffage you've ever heard?
My contribution so I don't look like a retard.

You're going to get bullied.
I haven't gotten many recs
I think I've bought too much music this year. I'm well over 300 albums, and this is what I haven't listened to yet. Which one should I play next?
Biological Enslavement
I'm thinking of taking a break from new music
I'm forgetting all the old stuff that I liked
Parkway is great up until Atlas. Deep Blue is some pretty original and killer metalcore.
crappy dave schools costume
Anyone want to talk about how underrated this is? Basically everything metalcore in the mid 00s should have been: heavy, with ample thrash and melodic hardcore influence.
>ample thrash
More like ample groove metal.
doesn't necessarily have to be an album recommended to you, I worded my post wrong, just any album you discovered from this general
Still trash
...
Death/doom from Portugal.
Remains has Tricks and Traps
Risk is a decent album, just not a Megadeth album
Starless is a great album, just not a black/thrash album
Forbidden still has Tony Martin on vocals, fuck off
>Starless is a great album
t. nu-male
Shut it, memeboy.
Ouch.
>listening to feminists in the throne room
I could never get into Symphony X.
Tried to like it and similar stuff, but it seems too much prog guitar tends to bore me.
Not exactly a rec, but I love whoever posted this back whenever.

Nice to see Unida on here

where do people even get the impression that they're left-wing?
This. I wanted a reissue so bad.
By not being retarded.
Hello there.
We need meme magic for this.
Anyone know how rare an original pressing of Blood Fire Death is? I have come across one for sale but I think the guy is asking too much ($35 usd) haven't found any other Bathory records in my area.
...
>tfw /metal/ doesn't like sludge because they heard one sludge song once that they didn't like
Sludge for this feel?
Original pressings appear to have been made under the label "Under One Flag"
discogs.com
don't forget to listen to symphoshit
Oh I forgot about that website exists lol, thanks for reminding me. Yeah it's probably the cheapest I'll ever find one for considering international shipping from discogs will cost more than the piece itself,
I fucking love power metal.
I unironically love Municipal Waste and the first Ghoul album.
