Star Trek: Enterprise is actually awesome. Why isn't there any love? It's cheesy in the best , most fun way.

The first two seasons are pure, unfiltered televisual sewage, and most people don't make it over that hump to experience the two best seasons of Trek outside of DS9.
People here parrot tourist memes that it's bad, nobody actually watches it fully through and sees how good it gets
If it was allowed a full 7 seasons like TNG, VOY, and DS9, it would probably be respected alongside them, especially since they were adding Shran to main cast
>nobody actually watches it fully through and sees how good it gets
There's a reason for that: No one watches three seasons of crap to get to the one good season, not when a show is actually airing - after the fact is a different story, but when you're waiting week to week for three years of your life, that's too much. A rough first season, that's understandable, most shows take a while to get their footing, for the cast to find their groove, etc. That it took three to do that is just unacceptable, and it shouldn't be surprising that by the time it actually got "good", the audience had abandoned it long ago and it was cancelled.
>three seasons of crap to get to the one good season
You are unironically and non-memeably a pleb with shit taste if you didn't like season three.
Season 3 was GOAT, only the first two were arguably rough, as with both TNG and DS9. I'd argue VOY never hit as good a stride as ENT
This is basically how I feel. I really only like the first two seasons at all because they are pure exposition into how racist Vulcans are. Season 3 and 4 set this crew solidly into my favorite. I have a favorite character in each series, but this one I like the entire crew.
>its a porthos episode
why do they have so many fucking zippers?
The captain is a straight white guy, so wtf i love enterprise now???
at least they actually have pockets in atrek uniform
Because Archer and Trip are the only two likeable and good members of the crew.
Ever seen Navy crewman uniforms? They were modeling them after that. Some of them even sort of look like the Maco uniforms.
The aesthetics were spot on. Everything looking very navel based made sense and worked well.
But fuck everything involving the Maco people.
I really liked the Maco and it made perfect sense for them to take special forces into the expanse. Plus it gave us this hottie. Too bad trip had Vulcan fever and went after T'pol instead.
>The first two seasons are pure, unfiltered televisual sewage
This was pretty much the case for every Star Trek series besides TOS. You would think the fan base would be used to it by now.
Because velcro doesn't work in zero g.
I feel like the Maco were added just as an excuse for forced drama.
Oh I don't know, I recall a scene where the rappel in to save the captain that was pretty badass. If Malcolm wanted to be a bitch about them being there that's his problem. He was clearly outclassed by the Major and it grated on him.
All Malcolm does is bitch about everything. God I hate him.
It was really kind of retroactively silly that we were to believe Starfleet stopped using MACOs between the era of ENT and TOS. 75% of all plotlines from the other Treks would have been resolved easily had the ship been carrying elite special forces troops
It made sense because Starfleet is not a military organization and they didn't want to resolve all of their problems by killing them.
unrelated to ENT but does anybody happen to have the pepe version of the alien from TNG episode Darmok?
Oh, ENT > VOY by the way.
>its a "Porthos gets replaced by a double and no one notices" episode
Shit like that fucked me up.
>It's a "Porthos dies in a teleporter accident" episode.
He had a really fatalistic attitude that was fueled by his military legacy. That episode where Trip and him are marooned on that shuttle is pretty good. Malcolm gets some much needed character development that makes him seem like much less of a cunt. Dying in the line of duty seemed to sort of be an obsession with him because of how he was raised. You kind of see it when his dad is acting like a prick in that episode where Hoshi is trying to find out what his favorite food is for his birthday.
The shuttle episode was good but he went right back to being a cunt in every episode after.
I enjoyed the first two seasons perversely because they were so COMFY.
True explorers.
If we go by what Beyond says, they integrated them into Starfleet.
They're all the nameless Security guys.
A security team is very different than a military group like Maco, especially since Maco had their own chain of command.
Weren't the Maco supposed to be planetside spec ops that were converted temporarily for the expanse mission? I wouldn't say that they were folded into security. Plus the Kelvin timeline starts to have almost fuck all to do with the primary one.
Because it didn't have any hot girls like the other Trek shows.
Good job OP, you're not a faggot.
Enterprise is an amazing show. I totally agree. It deserves the love.
I personally make me Enterprise post all the time how its the best Star Trek. But you are right, most Sup Forums faggots do that anyhow.
Its good from start to finish. The first season can be "average" but honestly, its not that bad. It's more on par for the first two seasons that TNG and DS9 where. (Which in general again were average and were NOT bad, just stupid)
Most people are missing out on watching all of it. I am on my third re-watch of the entire show. (actually watching it now) But otherwise, I totally agree with the rest of your post. I am lucky enough to watch it at my own past via Hulu/Netflix, but honestly, watching back to back to back was really fun! I enjoyed it more than TNG and some of DS9.
A ton of people hated season 3 for some reason, but it has one of the best arch's that combinates some of the best stories I have ever seen in Trek.
Just saw this as was typing. That is my TL:DR on season 1 and 2.
Same user, I liked (HOLD BEFORE YOU READ ANY FURTHER, JUST THE IDEA OF THE MACO) in Star Trek Beyond MACO's being brought up, a nice hat off to Enterprise, even though the movie was fucked IMO
. Yup
I guess you could say; but they are there as a highly-trained, better than Star Fleet wise of firearms and CQB. There was A LOT of drama after the Xindi used their mini-super weapon against Earth, it would only make sense if this early Star Fleet had a cosiding Military group from some of Earth's best militarys.
Agreed user.
Sorry for the shite grammar and wording. Half awake.
its shit
>Why isn't there any love?
You mean aside from the non-stop Enterprise threads we've been having?
Really?
I must have been missing them.
It couldn't survive when they moved networks (UPN I think?). Then a lot of fans either couldn't get it anymore or didn't know where to watch it. So at that point it was completely doomed. Some people even picketed to try and get it back on their air but it was too late. The ratings were in the gutter and the powers that be didn't give a shit.
Trek threads have been constant for a while now because of Discovery. Unfortunately we've been getting a lot of political shitposting on both sides of the spectrum. It doesn't help that The only information that Fuller has released so far is antagonistic negative shit that would be better left to the imagination of the fans. I'm at least glad that so far there's been very little said outside of it.
Totally agree user; in the long run for Enterprise, UPN was a terrible place for the show. (Designated Shitting Channel)
Also with Star Trek's ideal future; 9/11 really did not help. yes, Broken Bow had great ratings and a huge audience of 12 million viewers, it probably effected the audience sustainability as Enterprise became more idealistic (Season 3 ending and Season 4 in general) and less bleak.
I was specifically saying "really?" to Enterprise threads, but I see what you mean, more of these threads have been showing up due to the new show.
Yeah; so far I have seen, its hard to see how it will go, I am doubtful, but I am hoping for the better.
>I'm at least glad that so far there's been very little said outside of it.
Same
Also though, some people are now just getting netflix accounts that feature each series. I've had my account for a long time now. If it weren't for netflix picking it up a lot of this media would have been lost in the ether. They only recently did a blu-ray release of TNG and I don't think the others have gotten anything.
I grew up with TNG and DS9 as a wee kid and then went through school watching Enterprise. I really like the aesthetic of ENT because it's pretty dead-on for a submarine or an aircraft carrier in space. If they had thought about it earlier the Maco should have been a part of it earlier. Aircraft carriers especially usually have spec ops on board in one form or another.
Exactly this. I was excited about the concept of Enterprise, but I didn't get UPN with my 30 channels or so of rural cable. It was off the air by the time I finally got to watch it.
