Southeastern Turkey nowadays isn't very different compared to Syria to be honest. The cities are under constant curfew and there is always fighting both in border cities and mountains. I see reports of a few Turkish and Kurdish casualties pretty much everyday, and frequently reports of IED incidents for the Turkish side.
