11/10 patricianhood
How do I acquire your kinematic tastes?

Judging by this list you're about 15 years old.

You're in high school and never seen anything made before the 90's.

You seem to enjoy movies and not actual films.

legit pretty awful taste. Some of these are decent 7/10s, but you really haven't seen many movies if you think these are "the best."

Looking at it again, there's only maybe 1-2 movies on it that can snag an 8/10. Jeez.

Pi
Taxi Driver
Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter
Sunshine
Se7en
Tekkonkinkreet
Pan's Labyrinth

These are some of the ones I could watch anytime, so I guess you could call them favourites.

Starship Troopers

i had interstellar on my favorites list, watched it again recently, no longer one of my favorites

Do you seriousky have the normiecore picture as your favorite movies list?

You've never watched a movie that's older than you are currently

>American Hustle

you seriously consider captain phillips one of your favorite movies? did you just see it an hour ago or something? it's forgettable as fuck

Lost in Translation
Sunset Blvd
Vertigo

The only problem I have with your list is there isn't any movies past the 90's. most of the best movies were in the 70's and 80's, your missing out

kumiko was dogshit and i can't believe i wasted money seeing it

orphan and catch me if you can really seem out of place

>that many kubrick movies

maybe try branching out a bit

Kubrick is my favorite director so that's why I like so many of his movies.

I judge you a standard 16 year old with average tastes. If I had a Facebook and I saw your profile I'd probably forget who you are as I was reading it.

We could be friends. Above average. You like Kubrick a bit too much but that is ok because I worship his ass as well.

Great. Glad to see someone else appreciates Talk Radio and Mamet films.

>If I only put old movies on my list people will think I'm smart!

that post was so retarded i had to squint to read it.

whats your favorite movie, dark knight?

Nice try kid. If your going to go with the whole tryhard angle though go with impugning the foreign films it goes down much smoother.

Toy Story
Lion King
Aladdin
Up
Chicken Run

Apocalypse Now
Dr. Strangelove
2001
Alien
Bladerunner

I judge you a female, men aren't allowed to like cartoons in public.

Avg 19 year-old white male college student who has graduated from IMDB-core to starting to watch older movies.

Has a genuine like for modern-day meme-directors like Refn and Solondz for some reason

you fucking retard dark knight rises is a shit movie and it's embarrassing to list it as one of your favourite movies

one flew over the cuckoo's nest
taxi driver
12 angry men
the man from earth
the thin red line

>tfw favourite film is Layer Cake

I can't help being a pleb

I'm older. Does IMDB have a community consistent and particular enough to have a "core?"

>captain phillips
stopped reading there

kek

>Does IMDB have a community consistent and particular enough to have a "core?"

Pretty much the top 25 movies on their top 250 list.

Your list just reeks of someone who just go into film a year ago and thinks he can only like old films now because that makes him look smart.

>he can only like old films now because that makes him look smart.

I still find it funny that the two negative comments to my list remark on the age of the films rather than the content. I have never heard of it being pretentious to like older films foreign films maybe arthouse it's pretty much a given you're going to get the pretentious card/tryhard label but older? Has shit posting really become this basic and uninformed that a films age is now a source of derision?

You list has no personalty to it.

It's like you literally looked up some list some film school teacher made his class watch for an assignment.

And that's your favorites of all time, like wtf dude?

your list is a bit on the pretentious core side but there are a few really good films in here, but there is really not much personality in this list. it's the kind of films my hipster film professor would recommend me.

to further illustrate what I mean musician Frank Ocean recently put up a list of his 100 favorite movies.

And close to 90% of that list is generic old films that everyone is supposed to "like" if they want to look sophisticated.

It's very obvious that Frank's managers help him create that list to foster his image as a "smart" person.

It's just very hard to believe there's some person out there that just so happens to have every single film that's on every professors list as their favorites.

School Teacher, professor, professor.

I'm not hearing anything bad in this. Also I always find it funny when other people are insecure and think people are "trying" to be smarter than them by liking certain films, books, art, ETC. Were not trying to look smart, you're just genuinely a dumbass that likes dumb shit and cant comprehend people liking media above your limited intelligence/scope of inquiry.

>School Teacher, professor, professor.
>I'm not hearing anything bad in this.

You just showed your list of favorites in which most of the films are basically just "intro to film 101".

It obviously shows that you have just barely branched out from the normiecore and have not watched many films you retard.

I never said it was bad I just gave some criticism if you like those films then good for you man. I'm glad you can find more out of a film that did nothing for me. just because your film professor says it's good to him doesn't mean it's good to me. art is really based on each individual. one might find something a masterpiece, another may just call it a piece of shit.

That is beautiful user, maybe my list can help you out of the normie/elementary school core you're no doubt into.

my nigger

Jesus Christ you're such an obnoxious fucking cock sucker.

You're like that person that listens to /mucore/ and instantly thinks his musical taste is superior to everyone else.

Apocalypse Now is literally the best movie of all time. someone prove me wrong right now.

Blade Runner
Unforgiven
Moon
Inglorious Bastards
Apocalypse Now
Another Earth

I haven't been on Sup Forums in a long time when I used to post this the most consistent comment I would get is "you creep me out." Or something to that effect.

You shitpost on Sup Forums. Need I say more?

True Romance
Barry Lyndon
The Thin Red Line
In the Mood for Love
The Elephant Man
Boogie Nights
The Assassination of Jesse James
The Iron Giant
La Haine

>Eternal Sunshine of the SpotlessMind
You're a cuck

>Eternal Sunshine of the SpotlessMind

Is there something I missed from watching this? The relationship between the two characters feel so forced and done so quickly that I could never get into.

It's an interesting concept for a romcom but that's about it, unless I missed some "2deep4u" message.

>unless I missed some "2deep4u" message.

No there isn't one. The closest thing to depth is Elijah Wood's character being one of those people who is so shallow he just wants any secondhand love/relationship he can have to feel good about him self. I found him more interesting than either of the leads.

I liked it, didn't see any problems with it.

Citizen Kane
North By Northwest
Werckmeister Harmonies
Metropolis
Color Of Paradise
Limelight
Kingdom
Traveling Players
Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte
Underground
Rosemary's Baby
Persona
Splendor in the Grass
Nashville
Mirror
The Godfather Part I
The Wild Bunch
Sunset Boulevard
Belle de jour

>Am I cool yet Sup Forums

Yeah, there's nothing "wrong" with it, I just think it's extremely overrated.

It's probably the most unique romcom there is, but I don't what else it has going for it.

gone girl fucking sucked
