>denouncing the most popular, acclaimed, influential and progressive band of all time
so edgy!

I don't know ask RYM, only 2 of the top 100 rated albums are from non anglo-american artists (Can and Sigur Ros)
Maybe we make better music?

>the clash
Nope

1. pet sounds
2. highway 61
3. white album
4. blonde on blonde
5. revolver
6. london calling
7. rubber soul
8. sgt pepper
9. exile

never heard that marvin gaye album, though i'm sure i'd put it above sgt pepper and exile, maybe rubber soul

pet sounds is not guitar music
other stuff is true though

Because Anglos and Murricans have made the best pop music in history and also this list was compiled by an American publication.

What's Going On > Rubber Soul > Sgt Peppers > Pet Sounds > White Album > Revolver > Highway 61 > Don't care for the rest

Which is the worst?
I'd say Hotel California

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 7,5
Pet Sounds 7,5
Revolver 7
Highway 61 Revisited 8,5
Rubber Soul 6,5
What's Going On 8
Exile On Main Street 8,5
London Calling 8.5
Blonde On Blonde 9
White Album 7,5

Why does everyone on Sup Forums consider Blonde on Blonde better than Highway 61?

>literally no women

Anyone who doesn't rank BoB in their first place in their list is a fucking pleb.

Highway 61 is better than BoB though.

6. What's Going On

haven't listened to London Calling desu

>Sgt Peppers
some nice psych songs but overall pretty underwhelming. mmt is better, 6.5/10
>Pet Sounds
Two of the greatest songs of all time, a few decent songs and a bunch of overglorified pop. 7/10
>Revolver
Some catchy songs, but fails to grab me emotionally 6/10
>Highway 61 Revisited
Man with bad voice makes music where his bad voice is emphasized. 3/10
>Rubber Soul
The best song is a song spammed in car commercials, 4/10
>What's Going On
Haven't heard this in a while but what I remember this is a solid 7/10
>Exile in Main Street
Pretty good, quite a bit of filler though, 7/10
>London Calling
The punkier songs are the best, even though they are pretty insincere. The rockabily songs fucking suck. 6,5/10
>Blonde on Blonde
Man with bad voice makes music where his voice isn't as bad as on Highway 61, but still pretty bad. 4/10
>White Album
Too much filler / 10

Pet Sounds > What's Going On > Exile on Main Street > Sgt. Peppers > London Calling > Revolver > White Album > Blonde on Blonde > Rubber Soul > Highway 61 Revisited.

Idk why it doesn't have Abbey Road or TVU&N, those are the only ones in the top 10 higher than a 7/10

>le patrician

I remember for their singer list, Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, and John Lennon ranked above Freddie Mercury and Roy Orbison. Jeff Lynne wasn't On the list.

>top best albums of all time
>pic related is not even in the top 100

>pet sounds
>what's going on
>shit
It's just not true.

>it's another "we pretend to enjoy shitty canon dad rock" episode

summer is really deleterious for this board

Please never post again.

I bet you really enjoyed Loaded

The composition is simply better. Sad Eyed Lady is also one of his best songs, if not the best

I'm sick of this attitude. If non-Anglo/American or female artists have failed to make much of artistic worth or innovation, that's their problem and it's not 'discrimination'.
Also, 'rock' is a very loose term. London Calling is worlds apart from Pet Sounds.

It's not on the list at all. The only prog band in the top 500 is Pink Floyd. Not even dad-prog like Supertramp, Yes and Moody Blues made the cut.
Also the only jazz artists are Davis and Coltrane, 5 jazz albums in total. For the record: there are twice as many Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan albums as jazz albums.
Truly a great list

>If non-Anglo/American or female artists have failed to make much of artistic worth or innovation

What do you expwct from Dadrock: The Magazine

ok but not even an electronic album? really?
and absolutely nothing after the 60s?
it's clearly a corporate/marketing list.
i'm surprised people are actually taking that list seriously.

Yeah pet sounds is good

To be clear I'm talking about modern music. Name 1 band in the last 100 years that have had a significant impact and recognisable influence on art, music and culture that didn't sing in English.

Also I'm not ignoring artists like Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell or Bjork. That's why I said 'much'. They're clearly the exception to the rule though. This doesn't mean I'm a misogynist, it means men are usually better than women when it comes to art, just like women can be better than men in other areas.

Pet Sounds > Blonde On Blonde > What's Going On > Revolver > The White Album > London Calling > Highway 61 > Sgt. Pepper > Rubber Soul > Exile

All rap
