Unpopular Opinions Thread - Fuck you i liked it edition

What are your unpopular opinions?

Quality.

Come at me

Pixar is one of the last studios that makes quality and original movies.

The prequels were garbage

Having sex with passable traps is not gay

The Schumacher Batman movies were the best and capeshit past the first two Raimi Spiderman movies was a mistake.

I liked got s5&6, call me a pleb all you want, you cunts

Wesley wasn't that bad and Tuvok was the best character ever.

>'Rick & Morty' is good. Good- not great. I feel like this puts me in between the two extremes of opinion. It retreads a lot of what futurama did, but I like the background of the universe it is creating.
>Star Trek: Enterprise is legitimately more entertaining than TNG. TNG is smarter, but god damn it is a slog to try and binge watch.
>Nothing inherently wrong with capeshit. There have been bad ones and it is totally oversaturating the market, but compared to other blockbuster trends I don't mind capeshit being where our lowest common denominator is set at.

...

I actually thought season 1 was solid and it declined until finally leaping off a cliff with MIND PALACE THERE WAS NEVER ANY PHYSICAL EVIDENCE AFTER ALL

episode 2 aotc is my favorite star wars movie

natalie portman, jengo fett, kamino, clone war. its comfy

Based Harambe died so we can fuck traps russle free. Ya dig?

Civil war ain't that bad, has nothing noteworthy to say and the quips were annoying, but it's alright

what about passable traps fucking you?

I firmly believe Valhalla Rising is pure, unadultered kinographique le excellant de artisticus perfectico.

>TNG is smarter, but god damn it is a slog to try and binge watch.

>people need to make shows dumb enough that they can be mindlessly consumed for hours on end.

DS9>literally all other Trek

Indie movies are just better now then anything else. Hollywood keeps crapping out prequels and sequels and remakes shamelessly, theyve even come out and stated this is a problem and isnt working anymore but thats all theyre doing. Ive seen maybe 2 good big release blockbusters and about 6 good independent, lesser known films this past year. Almost everything on my watch list is now indie. They put more effort on story telling and characters then on big budget special effects jerk offs with actors who ham it up for millions and a half assed story
granted, there are some decent bigger hollywood movies that have come out in that past few years and some Indie movies have been artsy trash, but I have given up on blockbusters.
Indie movies with a plot and characters that have some heart put into it reminds me why I like watching films in the first place, and big blockbusters just dont have that heart anymore

Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are awful shows.

James Cameron, Christopher Nolan and Nicholas Winding Refn are among the most overrated directors of all time.

Coke, not Pepsi.

The problem isn't that it's too smart. The problem is that the characters are all cardboard cutouts, the lighting and set design is beige overload, and the camerawork even on the action scenes is boring and flat. Plus I find Guinan, Wesley, and Troi all annoying for the most part which greatly detracts from any scene they are in.

ST: ENT has problems, but the characters actually feel human and upon rewatches I am actually really appreciating the set design, costumes, lighting, and camera work. The show seems to be shot much less flatly than other ST. The real downsides are the temporal cold war bullshit and the dodgy CGI for stuff like the Gorn and Tholians.

Nicolas Winding Refn is a shit Director.
Is only good movies are the Danish Pusher, Bronson and Drive.

The rest is trash, its a special form of art and indie trash which I call Danish trash plus Lars von Trier is the prime suspect in bringing the cinematography trash, that Nicolas Winding Refn us also making.

I understand visuals and cinematography are a great things in films, but when you have a director that openly says cinematography is the best thing in a movie and by proving this he makes trash like Valhalla Rising(I love the cinematography of nature in this movie) and his latest The Neon Demon.
I fucking hate most Danish movies, they are trash. No plot so much if not allot of imagery and symbolism in the films, so much so that its almost impossible to understand.

Alfonso Cauron is a hack

How can you say this

Delet

DELET

I hate the RedLetterMedia skits.

Their reviews and shit are great, but the 100% scripted "in-character" stuff is cancer.

I enjoyed TDKR.

I like TFA and it's better than the prequels (not as good as the OT tho)

I enjoyed Matrix Reloaded. The Neo and Agent Smith clone fight is awesome.

True Detective Season 2 is shit

Nicolas Winding Refn is pure shit, seconding this guy Batman Vs Superman and Zack Snyder is total shit, good thing most people irl agree, but Sup Forums loves them for some contrarian edgy reason

I sort of enjoyed Suicide Squad, for the mess of a film it was

Batman and Robin is irredeemable garbage. But it holds nostalgic value for me.

Batman Forever is the best live action batman film ever made.

That is to say, it's not technically the best film featuring batman, but it is the best batman film

>Snyder is a good director.

Sucker Punch and amazing action scenes, and that's what it is, just an action-fest.

Watchmen is one of the greatest superhero movies, it's so well shot, well casted and the story is more than anything marvel shits out.

>Man of Steel, BvS and Suicide Squad are good movies

I never expect much from superhero movies, and was pleasantly surprised.

>How to spot a retard

I thought True Detective season 2 did fine, granted it could never come close to season 1, but it was a solid job.

You watch The Night Of?

>it was a solid job

it was a fucking incoherent lazily written mess

any given show on BBC is shit, including Dr. fucking Who

Signs is an incredible film

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is revolutionary and pretty much all of them are at least kinda good

>Unpopular opinion thread
>Insulting me because I have an unpopular opinion

I believe you sir, are the retard.

>Batman Vs Superman and Zack Snyder is total shit, good thing most people irl agree, but Sup Forums loves them for some contrarian edgy reason

You just might be the most retarded man alive, but even a retarded man can be right sometimes it seems.

Other than Peaky Blinders, I agree, the BBC is fucking dogshit.

I never liked Doctor Who, it's practically autist-bait.

>you sir

You mean quality and original ANIMATION, right?

>BBC's The Fall is shit
>the MCU is good

True detective s1 was meh, the story was convoluted and pretty weak. It's not a deep show, it's just pseudo intellectualism.
Hate me all you want

I've actually never seen Peaky Blinders, so maybe I'm unfair with my judgement on BBC. But based on what I have seen, it is indeed dogshit. Should I give Peaky Blinders a chance?

Starship Troopers is more entertaining than any single Star Wars movie.

Stargate SG-1 is more entertaining than any single Star Trek series.

(checkked)
Yeah, basically.

But story wise too. Most major studios making LA films I notice are just making rehashes of the same theme and/or story over and over again with just better effects.

It's getting pretty tiresom.

Reddit is better than Sup Forums.

What a fucking joke. It was so pretentious.

these threads are funny

having the same threads every day/hour is enjoyable

Mel Gibson is actually an amazing director even when he makes mediocre movies but what saves them are the tense violence. His best imo are The Passion and Apocalypto both of them have one thing in common its amazing cinematography.and tense violence that makes sense for the film.
Because of Mel Gibson I wanted to be a director.

Hellraiser 1 and 2 are under-rated films, and when people talk about top horror films they should be on the list.

Martyrs is an amazing French extreme body horror that even made some Japanese movies look tame. Just the skinning of the one girl was a holy fuck moment.

If you like mobster shows, then yes, It's a piece of English history that is worth making a show about, unlike all this Downton Abbey shit and subsequent shows that do the same thing.

good laughs and good times

The Walking Dead is objectively bad but i enjoy it. Game of Thrones however is fucking great!

stfu about Christopher Nolan.

I like coke too.

For porn and wallpapers, yes.

I thought Civil War was fine, and BvS was passable.
My unpopular opinion is that I don't care which is better or worse.

I am so pumped to see his new movie, I forget its name atm but its about a medic who refuses to shoot anyone but there is brutal violence happening everywhere and hes got to save as many people as he can and cannot fight according to his principles. Sounds like the heir to Saving Private Ryan I need so much right now.

for as much shit as refn gets for his movies, I still prefer them a million times over most of the inane shit that is on TV and film these days. The fact that critics lambast the guys films but give 90s to capeshit is pure bullshit.

Hacksaw Ridge, got a lot of buzz atm

The problem isnt that hollywood only makes sequels/prequels/other rehashed shit cinema. There are good original movies too, its just that nobody watches them, they get literally almost no publicity and are lucky to get close to breaking even. People complain about low quality cinema but its all they watch.

Those are all generally accepted truths though.

Also they might be overrated but deservedly so.

Hacksaw Ridge is it called. Its going to be a really simple movie just to watching the trailer. Also its probably going to have some Christian values with him not wanting to shoot anyone.

STRANGER THINGS SUCKS

I liked koyaanisqatsi.
Drive is overrated and generic.
There has never been a proper live action batman.
Most of the time anons are pussy little sheep that go along with the crowd because anons might be mean to them and call theM a cuck.
Faking It, Pretty Little liars, Roadies, and Mr. Robot are the best shows on TV.

it sucks ass that shitty dvd transfers are all we have of many genre films

damn, groundbreaking opinions you nigger

Harambe isn't dead you dumb shit, it was a false flag. I saw him in ghostbusters.

I've been hearing rumors that its the most violent war film in a long time. Although I don't know if that is enough of a sell.

South Park got old after the first season

I think I'm going to like Yoga Hosers.

I watched 2 episodes today, It's okay, I like the vintage feel to it, but I'm not feeling the hype everyone has for it.

How new are you if you think this is an unpopular Sup Forums opinion?

thats not true anymore either. This has been a record low for hollywood summer movies and everyone blames it on all the remakes, coupled with tv and the internet making it easier to both watch high quality stories and market them

>Unpopular Opinion thread
Literally >>>Reddit.

Next will be Free Talk Friday and Monday Moans so we can get that sweet karma.

who gives a fuck about /tv's opinion ? lol

it's doesn't even feel that vintage ...its way too clean.

Darren Aronofsky Requiem for a Dream is an over-rated movie that shows "hur amphetamine addiction" as super bad like Heroin/opiate or Benzodiazpine addiction. which is total bullshit, I was addicted to meth for 3 year and I quit in one day. While Beznodiazpines I been on for over 8 years and still using nitrazepam, clonazepam and xanax. Was a oxy addict for 5 years. The benzos and oxy is more or less what Requiem for a Dream shows meth as something super addictive while it ain't so addictive you must use it again and again, fuck.

The Salton Sea shows a more accurate meth addiction and psychosis plus the whole need alcohol or benzos to calm down after a binge of one week. And its accurate when they show the addicts don't know what time it is, so when the clock says its 10 in the morning or evening you really don't know if its night or morning, since when you are on meth you usually buy 10 grams so you can sniff or smoke like a hero for that week.

And that movie showed really well, the crazy and the allure of tweeking hardcore.

there are many old warfilms that are super violent and bloody. I think this is in the context of this is a new movie and holy shit.

I think he's a good director. AND! I think he's cute to boot. 7/10

The third act of Sunshine was good.

>Sean Connery has never made a good movie and is a terrible excuse for an actor
>Roger Moore was the worst Bond
>Skyfall was an awful movie

>I was addicted to meth for 3 year and I quit in one day.

Nah bruh, took you 3 years to quit, and even then you're still just a junkie.

This is in the top 10 Bond movies.

Kylo Ren is a much more interesting villain than OT Vader.

Prometheus is a good movie and the second best in the series behind Alien

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is good

>Kylo Ren is a much more interesting villain than OT Vader

You're not wrong, but he's still about as interesting as that thing that dangles at the back of your mouth.

Star Wars is as much a work of art as those people who dress their house in a million Christmas lights and have them flicker to Carol of the Bells, and just about as interesting.

>I liked koyaanisqatsi.

How to spot a dumbass who thinks he is smart. They like this dog shit.

Yes, I'm a junkie but not a meth junkie anymore used it for 3 years and quit. It kinda losses it allure on you when you don't feel happy and only depressed. So why bother taking it anymore? also got it after when Ritalin with adderal and another amphetamine type stopped working. The medication was called Desoxyn.

Also when you have better drugs like oxycontin or morphine. Why bother taking meth?

Carnivale and In Treatment are the best HBO shows.
Carnivale is better than Twin Peaks.
European animation is better than anime.
Inland Empire is David Lynch's best film.
Fritz Lang's Nibelungen movies are better than Metropolis.
Charlie Chaplin is better than Buster Keaton.
I enjoyed Russel Crowe's singing in Les Miserables.
Akira is overrated.
Whisper of the Heart is better than any of Miyazaki or Takahata's movies.
Evangelion rebuilds are just as good as the original series.
Persepolis and American Splendor are better than any superhero movie.

Poor guy deserves a break...

I liked TFA
I think fury road is overrated and boring
I hate all the Miyazaki movies I've seen (spirited away, Howl's moving castle, porco rosso)
I like all capeshit despite realizing it's just capeshit

That, IMO, Enterprise was an amazing show and is, IMO, the best Star Trek series out of all of them.

Thank god that there are good people here on Sup Forums that share my view on Enterprise.

This is the 2nd best Batman movie.

>Tuvok was the best character ever.
Tuvok was pretty cool.

Voyager was boring.

>Wesley wasn't that bad
Agreed; but the actor Wil Wheaton is a SJW turd.

Evil Dead 1 is the only good one
Halloween sucks
King Kong is Peter Jackson's only good post-Heavenly Creatures film
Leone's westerns are nothing compared to Corbucci's The Great Silence, and Once Upon a Time in the West is his worst one
Fitzcarraldo is the worst Herzog/Kinski movie and all the others are more interesting
JCVD sucks and Blood Sport is terrible in every way (actually please rec me some better ones, I just watched my first Dolph today -Red Scorpion btw, would recommend- and want to get into other lesser foreign action stars)

What is the first?

Any MCU or DCU movies are pure cancer made by the least creative producers in the history of Hollywood.

...

kek

I like that salt and pepper look in a trim older man though. Sessy time.

And it's better at echo chamber circle jerks than Sup Forums.

Batman Returns

Also I forgot to mention in my original post,
That I also IMO, that Star Trek: Nemesis is a pretty good movie. IMO, better than both Generations and Insurrection (Not First Contact though).

That is actually a pretty good movie.

I'm not one of those pretentious asshats who act like it's a great movie, it's not even a movie, it's a like video collage, but I liked watching it. It was like when you watchtime lapses of flowers blooming or landmasses changing on the discovery channel.

My nigga.
