That was kind of the joke, though. Cause immediately after looking at these 'impossible to take unless you actually are Spider-Man' pictures, JJ immediately calls them crap and tells Parker to buzz off.

Further reason the original Spider-Man trilogy was more of a comedy trilogy than action.

There's always been SOME implication that JJ wasn't 100% an asshole.

He occasionally did the right thing. He's had moments where he's saved someone's life or even helped Spider-Man.
