Anyone ever used cell phone jammers in movie theaters? Been tempted to try to get one and try it out. I haven't been to a movie in like 5 years where there weren't about 15 people on their phone nonstop through the entire film

Bought one from a website. Just a cheap thing. BUT it was great. Used it in trains and on the streets just to test it, Had a range of about ten to fifteen feet but if they were in that range for long enough it cut them off.

I'm really surprised this is such a problem.
I'm Canadian and while there are occasional cellphone users at the cinemas here, it's very rarely a problem, and people will almost always put it away if somebody actually asks them to do so.
Going to the movies in the USA sounds pretty annoying, I know I'd be disturbed by a dozen rectangular lights.

Usually when people are fucking around with phones at my local theater they are confronted by the people behind them. It can lead to fist fights after the movie ends but during the film they at least behave.

It is a very valid point that emergency services won't work right. I personally don't go to see movies anymore. That is always an option.

It all depends on what service you have. My friend has AT&T, he truck drives and gets coverage out of cities and places in the middle of nowhere.

All public places and retailers (malls, restaurants, sporting venues, theaters, public transit) should have them by now. They are very inexpensive and are easy to use.

Any place that has a fire extinguisher should have one of these right beside it.
