While I wasn't a huge fan of Django, it was still fairly entertaining to me in its own way.
This was just felt like a massive waste of time. Like I legitimately regret experiencing the whole three hours of this overacted, drawn out, anti-climatic clusterfuck.
What happened to Tarantino? It's like he had one or two good movies and then completely lost his fucking mind. I can't tell if he's too sidetracked with his own social agenda, or if he thinks he's making plays instead of movies.
Maybe its because you expected an action flick and instead got to watch a murder mystery set in Montana.

I liked the movie overall, just didn't understand why nigger bullied the old guy. Did he also made that story up? Also, I think that letter from Lincoln was authentic
I didn't know what to expect, actually. This is from the guy that made Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction, all similar-yet-completely-different movies. And like I said, even Django had a charm to me that this just completely lacks.

I watched this film with my parents. My dad is a big Tarantino fan, he took me to see Pulp Fiction at a midnight release when I was around 8.
I didn't get much of it, but years later I was the only kid in class who got the reference in that Simpson episode.
This was better than Django and Inglorious though

The Hateful Eight is Tarantino giving John Ford his due (beyond the whole "wtf he dressed as a klansman i hate john ford now" bullshit from Django's release). It's about the lies that make the world go round and the need to choose which ones are worth fighting for and which ones are worth fighting against.
Honestly, it's his most adult-oriented movie since Jackie Brown while still retaining his usual pop charm. He does the same thing the Coens do: sister films.
That said, I hope he decides to do a straight-up sci-fi / horror movie before he quits. H8 almost counts as horror but it's the David Lynch prior-to-resurrection principle.

If you enjoyed True Romance as a kid, you'll enjoy Jackie Brown as an adult.
It's surprisingly unlike his other work, except that it still has that Tarantino touch. It shows you the depth of what he can do. Watching it more than once, you'll see and understand things that weren't apparent on previous viewings. It will even give you a new perspective on some of his other work.

I've got to respectfully disagree. I didn't hate Django, but I found this one way more engaging. The only thing that stuck with me from Django is the whole dinner at Leo's scene.
Regardless, I'm just glad that Tarantino's finally off that "revenge" kick he's been on since Kill Bill.
