What Middle East country has a government that is stable? Iraq was stable because Saddam tortured everyone to keep them in line. Same with Saudis, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and any country that got through the Arab Spring.

Fuck that. An invading force would NEVER be able to create a government from local government from local political leaders without it being a glorified puppet state. If this was a full-on colonial expedition where the point would be to conquer the region and set up a stable, western government that would function independently from local interests for a few generations before the locals understand its for the best and play ball, that'd be one thing, but if we're even going to keep up the pretense of democratic elections decided by the local people, its best if we leave and let the locals sort it out themselves.

Democracy means nothing if the local populations don't bleed for it and whatever form of government forms naturally from the power vaccum is probably way more representative of what the region needs and wants then a kind-of, sort-of puppet state that has just enough autonomy to deny us our interests in the area.

Liberals never finish anything. The greatest problem with them is they get stuck thinking about advancing causes that can't be quantified. For example, ending poverty or increasing gubberment support for minorities. At what point do they close this case as a success?

The same goes for their war policies. They think winning wars is as simple as giving nogs or slimes freedom and that's it. That's why they have failed and will continue to fail at warmongering. Because they can't into quantitative analysis.

They've always been in a position to harm the west.
All it takes is a few guys in a cave with access to literally anything explosive and they can harm the west.
What we SHOULD be worried about is large scale attacks on the verge of outright war. THAT, they are not capable of.

Even if they surprise us and somehow drop a nuke on us tomorrow the middle east would be wiped off the map within the week.

The "official" plan was to train the ANA and ANP to take care of themselves.

I was involved in training a group of ANA with IED clearance in 2011, 2 of them got themselves killed because they considered search techniques boring and not a masculine way of soldiering.
