It's analogous to the loadout the Marines used fighting door-to-door in Fallujah so it would work. Of course, most people aren't in Marine Corps shape but the weak will die off quickly I imagine leaving only the capable and strong fighting.

The problem with these threads and the way the template is set up is that it does not take into account groups being organized and prepared to work together during crises.
If SHTF and you base long term survival based on the template, then you are probably fucked. Even if you think of living alone innawoods until shit cools down, in the worst case scenarios it could be years or their may be Organized hunting for dumbfucks who thought not organizing a counterattack with others was "smart".
The best SHTF strategy is a plan that organizes friends and family, people you can trust, to all be prepared and to work together in such a scenario. Pooling resources and working together will infinitely increase survival and combat strategies.
