I don't know why so many people go into this album thinking it's going to be something groundbreaking and progressing from what Thundercat has done in the past. The dude has clearly established himself as one who's comfortable just writing fun tongue-and-cheek tunes that aren't trying to be more than what they are. I went into this first listen expecting that it would just be another fun album and I got exactly that.
