Weird pleb stories

>be at party
>be in circle getting to know new people
>new guy joins the circle and conversation
>a few minutes later someone asks what he does for fun
>"I'm really into music"
>interest piqued
>I say, "hey we should definitely talk, I'm really into music too. What bands are you into?"
>"I'm like, in love with Imagine Dragons."
>internally sigh but don't say anything because I'm not a sperglord
>"oh that's cool, I don't really know much about them, I'm mostly into hip-hop and stuff that people with any sense should probably stay away from"
>my taste isn't that deep but I hate sounding pretentious
>his eyes immediately lock onto mine
"So you aren't into Imagine Dragons?"
>shrug
>"I don't have anything particularly against them, they just really aren't my thing"
>really, really trying to be polite here since Imagine Dragons is one of the most bland bands on the planet
>a look of slight disgust and bewilderment appears on his face
>"Who doesn't like Imagine Dragons?"
>I grin and try to laugh it off and change subject
>just me, I think! I'm really too picky about my music
>he will not let it go
>until I excuse myself from the group he won't stop talking about how great the band is and how it's so bizarre that I don't like them
>he was highly personally offended that I didn't actively enjoy Imagine Dragons

Why would you ever act like this

Imagine Dragons attracts those kinds of people.

I don't know what it is but I see more people who "love music" into them

>"Music is my life!"
>hears one second of something as Sung Tongs
>"eww what is this why would you ever like this"

>HOW HIGH WERE THEY WHEN THEY MADE THIS AHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHHH

*as tame as Sung Tongs

>"I listen to everything"
>everything means a mix of top 40 from multiple decades
Everytime.

>I'd give anything a go
>"Haha why do you listen to Beach Boys? That's not real music"

I hate explaining that Pet Sounds is my favorite album sometimes

I hate saying I like the beach boys because it makes people think I'm into cheesy surf rock when what I really am into is their later deeper stuff

i hate saying i like classical music cause i sound like a dweeb who listens to pandora radio of the same twenty classical pieces in every fucking movie ever and musicals and Zimmer or something

but i hate saying i like modern classical cause then people try to talk to me about Max Richter and Einstein on the Beach. i'd rather seem a little plebby than have to endure another conversation about the worst pieces of classical music ever to become popular

>"Haha why do you listen to Beach Boys? That's not real music"
you're making shit up.
Pet Sounds is way more well known than any of their other albums.
