Who knows. S3e1 was alright... not great, seemed to completely undo the entire character development of Rick from season 2, had a few plot holes, it just wasn't great. S3e2 was just... boring. Underdeveloped and pandering to the whole divorce subplot in a boring and roundabout way. The violence and animation design choices were neat, but it's the kind of episode you could skip over without affecting your viewing experience of the rest of the season. Season 1 had a few of those, but season 2 had none, so I'm at an impasse. We will have to wait and see what the next few episodes are like.

It was better than it is now. They replaced all the writers with female SJWs this season, now it's taking a nosedive
its because I get the point that morty and summer are numb because the divorce but every episode usually has an emotional core and this kind of lacked it despite being the most emotional episode to date
1/3 of the total is enough of a sample to make a prediction -- so since this year and a half late season is only gonna be 10 episodes, the next episode should be just about enough to make a prediction.
It's a shame what's happening to this show. Delays on delays on delays with staffing changes and then shortening the season and now we are getting garbage episodes? They could have a solid 10 season show right here but they're on the verge of running it into the fucking ground.

The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons.
