Recently got a job. Haven't worked yet but am supposed to this week. Literally never got my dad a gift. What should I get him? He's in his early 40s and a cab driver. Is into Elvis and Michael Jackson. Is almost never home. Usually just to sleep. Any tips, friends?

Bumping for an apparently decent human being.
No idea, never met mine.

Cheers mate and I'm sorry to hear. I hardly know mine. He's always out and when he's home, he's never talkative. Usually because I'm used to just being in my room all day.

Some form of mp3 player or iPod, loaded with several albums he would like, and a bluetooth adapter for the cab if the radio doesn't have an AUX plug or bluetooth already.

Bumping

Will post ideas as they come, bro

Sauce on that image?

Idk what you should get him, I'm awful at gifts. Bumping for others to help tho

maybe some music for his cab? or something that reminds him of you

Get him a $25 Uber gift card

He's kinda set for music. Has Elvis and MJ CDs. Also has a radio station that plays old hits and chill music although I don't think he listens to it much.

No idea but if you reverse Google search it should be an easy find. Sorry.

No idea what would remind him of me other than some dog turds. I'm a real shit son to him.

Get him a clean escort on birth control. Let him have the joy of cumming inside a hot girl.

Buy him a new turban.

to me the best gift is a book. But your dad sounds like a normalfag so I don't know, some whisky or sports event tickets?

>No idea, never met mine
You must be a nigger.

Get him a fuckin sweet fedora

He's not big into sports but he's big into whisky. What's a good one? Ausfag so can't guarantee I can find a bottle. I'll spend about 120 max on a bottle.

I know the feel user except I'm jobless, 20 years old and my dad just hit 50 this weekend, he's a builder. Managed to get money to get him a card. I can't bring myself to ask him for money so I could get him a gift. Wrote some heartfelt things on the card I should've said to his face years ago.

When he's home we don't talk that much because I'm in my room a lot being a useless fucking neet. The poor guy probably sees me as a huge disappointment of a son who couldn't even manage to get him a gift not that I'd know what to get him anyway

Get him a $10 cigar and a nice chair

...

Funnily enough, he has a pretty cool fedora he wears with his suit. Inb4 fedora thumping m'lady spouting fuck. He enjoys the look of it and I'll admit he looks better with it and a suit than without.

I'm 21 so I know how bad it feels man. You'll make him happy one day.

He's a smoker but I don't think he cares much for quality cigars.

Get him a coffin

With the rate he's smoking, I may as well. Any proper suggestions though?

>He's kinda set for music.
A paid gift certificate to a rub and tug massage parlor.

Steal him a $300 chain from sears and leave the proce tag on

A 6 pack of beer and a rad 80s movies. Watch it with him and drink some brewskis

Cigs idk bruh ur not givin us anything

I doubt it user. I dropped out of college (in the uk isn't that big of a deal as America) and I've been at home for the last year and a bit. I think me even leaving the house or writing a CV would make him happy at this point.
This is turning into a Feels2Real thread for me.

Try asking him if he wants go out for a meal or go on a trip, go fishing; he'll probably value time with you more than a gift.

I agree

Find me one near Sydney Australia.

Oh fuck yeah what's some good movies? He's into action and has seen most recent Marvel movies. He's into stuff like lethal weapon and the expendablea. Any suggestions?

Go nuts with applications man. The place I applied to I sent 5 applications to. I sent about 200 in the last fortnight. It's hard as hell finding a job without qualifications

Probably Johnny walker blue label. Fucking amazing. It is pricey though. Don't now how much you're willing to fork out, but it'll last him a long time. It's not a whiskey to throw back in s night.

Maybe a pair of sweet shades? Elvis bobble head for the cab? If he has a record collection, maybe find one online he might like? Some blue suade shoes?

Buy him a nice Zippo engraved on eBay, if you can't afford a genuine Zippo buy a knock off on ebay

Maybe a nice ring, chain, or a watch?

kek underrated

White trash gift of the year 2017

Sorry, I don't speak bogan.

2 mad ideas I'll probably go with. Johnny walkers like $70 and I'm willing to spend that for him. How much you reckon the Zippo would cost and where do I get an actual one?

White trash or not, it'll be something he'll keep with him, use frequently, and it'll remind him of me so

This. Is a good idea.

Set aside some time for him, make sure he's able to say a few hours, and just put on Michael Jackson's Ghosts, Moonwalker, Jailhouse Rock, G.I. Blues, Blue Hawaii, and Viva Las Vegas. Grab a few beers, grill some steaks, corn, beans, and dogs and just chill with him. Your company and love is a great gift (and a good, well prepped steak is nothing to sneeze at either). If you want something more tangable get him an MP3 player with his favorite MJ and Elvis songs on it, along with a few other oldies.

dont buy him whiskey or any stupid shit for his cab, get him something that you and he can build together or at least use together.

if not, then

He takes Sundays off so I'll probably go with some drinks, food, and movies with him then. I'm no cool and I'd rather not have him do the cooking so I might find something else for the food

You can literally get a zippo at Walmart for $10. Don't engrave it thought, it really will look trashy.

>whisky
The best blended Scotch whiskey. Unlike most blended swill, it holds up on its own, but you still won't feel bad mixing it into a Rob Roy or Godfather.

Get him tf2 on steam

He's a big whiskey guy and is only ever home and awake one day in the week. Doesn't really have time to do shit.

Ausfag so no Walmart

Cheers for the suggestion. I saw some shit reviews on John Walker blue label so I might go with this if I can find it.

Actually made me laugh. Cheers

You could even binge Westworld, it's a TV show, you guys might like it

I'll keep that in mind. Doubt he'd be into it. He's not a big fan of tv shows. More movies that get to the point quicker

Britfag here so can't give advice on where to get one other than online but I'm sure they will do a genuine Elvis or Jacko one if you don't wanna go for the engraving.

Oh an Elvis one would be awesome. Cheers for the idea

This

I have an infograph on how to cook steak somewhere it's really simple. Actually anything on the grill is. Canned beans all you have to do is heat up (get ranch style), and with grilling corn all you have to do is wrap it in tinfoil and put it in the smoker, or on the top rack.

Irish whiskey is destilled 3 times to scotch's 2. As a result, it has less character but is much smoother, if you think he'd like that. Also, because it doesn't have the recognition and marketing of Scotch whiskey, a single malt from Ireland is comparatively much cheaper.

Genuine Zippo on Amazon around $40, glad to help man, kinda feels weird actually being nice on here for once. Good luck with the new job

Saved. Love shit like this that explains what not to do as well. Cheers.

He usually comes home, pours out some whiskey in a cup with ice, skulls it, and drinks beers outside. Which do you reckon he'd like more? Doesn't really have a reaction to it.

That's actually fucken perfect. How much do you reckon shipping to Australia would be? And cheers for the good wishes. Feels good being nice doesn't it haha

saved

No idea on shipping, here's the link.

Can I ask what the job is?

Honestly no idea lol. Went in for a receptionist job. They said I didn't fit the role of a receptionist but since I'm good with computers and know my way around the net, they could use me for advertising but still talked like I'll be a receptionist. Cheers for the link.

Damn, doesn't ship to Australia. The ideas great though, definitely something I'll look for.

paige judd

Give him a bj

Not the quaffing sort, eh? If you can find it, or order it online, unaged/white American corn whisky might be something fun to try. It's most commonly referred to as "moonshine" and it's a big fad in American whisky right now with quite a few options. Lots of grain character, none of the mellowness of barrel aging.

1.Rocky Horror Picture
2.Six pack
3.burgers, medium rare
*continuation of the burger*
*1.sautee onions with a tiny bit of brown sugar and balsamic vinegar
*2.sautee mushrooms with olive oil, salt, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and some parsley
*3.bake bacon in 375° for around 10-15 minutes
*4.lettuce
*5.chips on the side

Profit???

Get him a gun and two bullets, just in case.

Guy above me has a pretty good idea as well.

Eberytjing I said, plus some moonshine.

Google is your friend man, I'm sure you can find one in Australia.
Job's a job man, at least you will finally have some dough to spend on shit. Just make sure you stick it out, even if it is shit don't quit unless you find something better!

Usually is but not with whiskey. I'll see about importing drinks for him but I'm just afraid of getting him something he wouldn't like.

Saving this entire thread so cheers for the suggestion. Rocky horror seems like a good idea

Gl m8

Just know that as long as you get some delicious food and alcohol, he'll have a good time guaranteed (just pick any funny old films and you two will be cracking up till dawn)

Cheers man I seriously appreciate it. Sup Forums can be a hell hole but when it comes to honest suggestions, I've yet to be let down. People can be really nice and helpful on here.

Get him a nice trip to a good restaurant to get his mind off everyday life struggle. Go with and bond.

Yeah was thinking of that, too. He's a really big seafood guy and I can probably find a good place so that's a good idea.

Anyway guys, it's 5:40am and I might be getting a call for work in the morning. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions. Probably going to go with a day in with drinks, food, and movies and then a trip to a restaurant the week after. Also an Elvis Zippo if I can find one in Australia. Have a good one, folks. You're all awesome

im black lol and my dad is there
he's white though

beer and drink it with him hug him and tell him you love him

take him fishing

You could start buying him gifts that have different meaning each year. Only home to sleep? Buy him a pillow tell him why. Always late for dinner? Buy the fucker a watch.

I dont even mean it in a harsh way, growing up gifts werent big with my family so it turned into a joke but do what u want

beaded seat covers. taxi drivers love that shit, right?
