why should other people be taxed to subsidise you? lazy entitled fuck.

go vote labour you lazy shit.

>screaming reddit because he doesn't have an argument

I wish you'd move out of Sup Forums.
Kids today think they are entitled to buying a house like in the 50's because they don't understand you have to adapt to the changing times.

Ultimately, the chinese buying houses is good because it encourages construction and expansion of residential areas. But good like trying to tell that to myopic kids.

We live in the greatest time to be alive, and you're having a shitfit because you are forced to deal with the "humiliation" or renting or not living in the centre of the city.

Grow up, kiddo

>tax foreigners higher than citizens
You bet your arse yes. How stupid are you

not even going read the pic, but here's your take, evidently
>representative gov't shouldn't attempt to address problems faced by the electorate
'conservatism' in a nutshell

OP clearly doesn't know how shit things are getting. Look at Vancouver, where foreigners (read: Chinese) are buy all of the houses and instead of renting them out of whatever, they're just sitting on them. Same things happens here in London. Now most people will never actually buy a home and are stuck renting for their entire lives. They've turned the housing business into just another investment sector, and the ones that suffer are the average citizen.

If it were domestic buyers doing this, you could argue it's not so bad, but this is foreigners artificially inflating the prices.

...what
being in a position where moving out is a problem and moaning that you should be given these things by people you don't know are two very different things.

>chinese buying houses is good
kys wangker

>live in the greatest time to be alive
yeah after you old cunts fucked the housing market blowing it up from 3-5x the median salary to 12-15x in ~15years

I shit you not m8, I'm prob in the top 3% of income for people my age and cannot afford any house for less than 50% of my net income as repayment

>shilling for the oriental jew this hard

Just move to /leftpol/ will you?

Isn't Canada's real estate market even more fucked than ours right now?

Crash soon brother. The boomers plan on retiring using their speculative pricing that no one can afford. When interest rates increase the bubble will burst.

It's impossible to buy a house in this shitty country unless you're a millionaire.

Quick question for invest fags. When the bubble pops, where should I invest my money? Cities and rent rooms or more rural areas? I was too young for our house crash but I'm planning on making good enough dosh on this one.

>2 more years of uni
>will likely go home to Calgary once I graduate
How likely is it that I'll be able to buy a house within 15 years?

>but I'm planning on making good enough dosh on this one.

Hahahahahahahaha.

Just like what they all said last time.

You're going to lose everything you fucking idiot.

>where should I invest my money

Ad hominim, look it up

Lib-fag has a very good point, selling property to foreign investors leaves citizens cucked to landlords overseas

there has never been a time in history where one generation of people sold out future generations anywhere near as hard as the boomers have done to us

we are so fucked

You've got better chances winning the lottery than with honest work.

>there has never been a time in history where one generation of people sold out future generations anywhere near as hard as the boomers have done to us
source on this? sounds like a meme desu

This. Who the fuck is going to buy a shitty crack house for $1mil.

I can't wait to buy some nice, cheap land in the country to live on

>retard cuckservative boomers going "Please sell our country to foreigners because it keeps the value of my house increasing!"

treasonous views

Bet these cucks would never be anti-immigration though, which is most of the reason for these outrageous housing prices

Houses are a place to live, not an "investment" for foreigners & boomers to profit off of

> buying a house with your girlfriend

Oh god this guy is going to be posting on Sluthate in about 3 years time isn't he

the oil industry will be dead in calgary, housing prices are dropping like a rock

I don't even know how to show you how disconnected you are from reality m8.

Of course you'd be for artificially inflated economies, you happened to be the right age when it all happened. Nobody's even asking to live in the city, it's eternally out of reach for my generation. Even places that are 2hours away from work are barely affordable.

Worst part is, it's not even unreasonable to ask to curb the monopoly putting us on permanent rent status that encourages further investing, yet your only reasoning is 'muh entitlements'.

>our free market ideals
lol
>kneecap our nations development
Owned & controlled by foreigners is development?

>muh libertarian free marketism when it benefits me
>much socialism when it benefits me

You guys are fucking hypocrites

>Thinking there is ANYTHING approaching a free market in real estate

Are you some old fucker who bought a house when its cheap and now that its worth lots, you think its good sound policy people need to move 1 hour away from work to afford a home?

Just open your eyes: the wold has changed and it's easier to migrate to rich countries. As a tesult :

> Wealthy foreigners buy the nice parts of the city
> "Welp I guess locals shoudn't expect to live there right out of uni, let's move to the poorer part"
> Notsofast.zip
> Government is housing rapefugees in this part of the town, you can't rent a flat here
> Just leave the city you are born in despite being paid the median salary
> Now only foreigners and late boomers live in here
> A-at...least we respect the ideal of free market. Muh values...amirit guys?

Ho and before you speak out of your ass on this subject again : we have a law in Switzerland since 1983 to limit the influence of the foreigners regarding the real estate market. Last time I checked, we weren't a commie State.

Go lose an another war against the emus, abo.

>but muh globalism!

I don't know how many times I can say this.

FUCKING. RENT. A. HOUSE. YOU. CHEAP. BASTARD.

If you honestly think renting is beneath you or some shit, you deserve to live on the street. Get your lazy entitled unmovitated ass, find a job, work for 10 years, and then you can buy a house.

you don't need one now. Just rent a fucking house.

Rent is just as outrageously UN FREE MARKETEDLY overpriced as well

>I already have my house and everyone else can go to hell

fuck you too

He's right though. Letting foreign investors buy up all the property on the market even though they have zero plans to live there is a pretty bad idea.

yes, be a good goy and pay my mortgage for me, you will surely be able to afford a house in 10years without saving

Hopefully they ban him for racism.

>without saving

Nobody said don't save you fucktard. Maybe think twice on what you spend and don't go out for drinks every weekend and spend 50 dollars on whisky.

Stop being so entitled and thinking people who's parents worked hard ought to subsidise your lifestyle.

I bet you're voting for bill shorten, aren't you?

He's not wrong. I've been to your island OP. The chinks own all your nice property, half of Sydney and most of your industry. The guy you're mocking is right. 100 years, even 50 years ago what he calls for wouldn't have been seen as odd. This kinda highlights how far to the right the paradigm has shifted since the 80s.

>inb4 muh liberals

Identity politics is a stick chucked to the emotive student activist so they can feel they've achieved something while taking their eyes of serious issues.

This said, I do love it when liberals (like Tim from reddit) -who would have been the first to denounce you as racist for calling for 'tariffs on rich chinkies'- get a taste of reality.

gooks are taking over

more at 11.

Political ideologies exist as a framework to overcome issues, not something you blindly follow against one's own detriment.

I don't like Canada so this amuses me but then it happens here as well, just not nearly as large of a scale.

>not wanting to seize foreign assets
almost got me, then I realized you were an Australian..

Fuck foreigners buying up houses that they will never live in, raising the prices for locals. I know it's only legal because they never thought about it and haven't made it illegal yet, but it really isn't good for the locals.

>how far to the right
You mean leftist globalist ideologies
Selling out to foreigners is acceptable in a marxist viewpoint because we're all citizens of the world.

>fugg i worked so hard for my house i bought for 4x my salary! how dare these whiney whippersnappers complain about affordability! just work 25hrs a day!

it's almost like your last name is Chingchang

>husband works full time
>wife works three part time jobs
>still not enough money

That's a shame really. Maybe they should consider moving to a less expensive area.

Sylt, a German island, just recently heavily limited foreigner's (in this case that means everyone not living on Sylt) access to the housing market because they ran into the same problem, with lots of the property being used as holiday home.

I wonder when they'll start doing the same in other areas. Living space is not really a field that should be treated like just another stock market.

I mean right in terms of privitisation and neo-liberalism. This isn't poor chinks that are getting these houses but the super-rich. The same kind of people who lobby for TTIP in the name of free trade. Free trade today is pretty right wing as it means simply the freedom to exploit. Of course leftists are largely internationals. Some would say you're not really a leftists if you're not internationalist. So yes, both the left and mainstream, economic right support globalisation. Though for kinda different reasons. In a purely economic sense though we are objectively way right of where we were in the 80s.

>that should be treated like just another stock market.

If the bank jew makes more money selling it to foreigners than he does selling it to native citizens then he will chose the money each time.

Jews are immoral.

>mfw white landlord hasn't raised my rent in the three years I've rented from him

>neo-liberalism
>right

Privatization is almost always a scam, they sell government assets for pennies on the dollar to their pals

Yeah, I know. And for them it probably doesn't even matter if the country turns to shit because they don't live there anyway.

But it would be the politician's job to step in at that point and limit it, because it is very clearly not in the best interest of the country.

>politicians
>cuckservatives
>best interest of the country at heart

sadly even White politicians are all greedy chucklefucks.

die cuckservative
I'll sell your organs to the Chinese and make a killing and it will good for the local economy

The Free Market should not be applied to everything, and he's correct in that one of those things is the housing market. It's very hard to create supply with land as it is fininite, unlike say fridges or cars for example. Land owners sitting in real estate waiting for its value to go up provides nothing for the country they reside in, and actually shafts their fellow countrymen.

All the edgemasters in this thread saying "why should anyone pay for your house you lazy liberal" etc just don't get it.

Churchill wrote a great essay on this topic, he was against land hoarding and saw it as one of the greatest drains on the quality of life of the populace.

Confirmed for chink

?
There is no free market in housing
The supply is tightly controlled & regulated

Share the addresses of the empty houses
Break in
Squat

The point is, it needs to be regulated it you end up with de facto slavery for people who don't have money. People sitting on real estate (or buying it up) is bad for most people and doesn't provide anything for the state.

There's a reason Lord Sugar (our version of Donald Trump in the Apprentice Tv show) said you make money on real estate and do business for fun: it's an absolute steal and is a way to keep poor people in poverty for no reason other than they didn't have money to start with.

Housing is not a luxury but a right, anyone who says otherwise is a severe edge lord.

Would Trudeau give me some NEETbux too?

Only if you're a shitskin. Otherwise you're out of luck.

I wouldn't exactly call it a right, since that just leads to shit where everyone thinks existing entitles them to owning property again.

But it is definitely something that should not be speculated with. Food and a space to live are things that are mandatory and everyone who actually puts effort into it should be able to acquire it.

>let foreigners 'buy' property
>let them pay taxes on land they won't even see because they live in china or whatever
>make them hire home maintenance personnel
>all that foreign dosh flooding the country goes to citizens + government
>when push comes to shove, the government can just seize all that land since no one is using it

OP needs to be quiet and stop trying to ruin the plan

Funny how that no borders, one world mentality immediately stops existing when it arrives in their back yard, huh?

Leftists shouldn't be allowed to vote.

was on board until that horrific spelling of center

The problem with land is that it's
a) Finite,
b) in high demand,
c) neccessary to survive.

You cannot apply free market economics to something like this, the government has to intervene, or you end up with de facto slavery.

>You cannot apply free market economics to something like this
why not?

> the government has to intervene
why?

>or you end up with de facto slavery.
how so?

>"No, see, if you live a shitty life and have to waste most of your income on exorbitant rent for the next 30 years it will totally pay off in the end!"

It's a pretty shitty plan for the average citizen.

>be government
>making shitty housing and zoning regulations that make it very hard to make more housing
>let a bunch of chinese come over and get tax benefits for buying houses, allowing them to nationalize and get benefits, to the point the allege millionares investing in said houses are now close to a quarter of the poor of the country, with many more being still in the welfare bands
>this is good policy
Keep electing those fuckers, leaf. They clearly care about you.

>>You cannot apply free market economics to something like this
>why not?

It's as if you bought up all the food in a country that for some magical reason cannot import food and then raised the price by 2000% because you know they cannot refuse.
They'll just burn everything to the ground and kill you in the end.

>"No, see, if you live a shitty life and have to waste most of your income on exorbitant mortgage for the next 30 years it will totally pay off in the end!"

Home ownership is a meme

>They'll just burn everything to the ground and kill you in the end.
that's not necessarily a bad course of events and is an acceptable part of the free market system.

>You cannot apply free market economics to something like this

actually, yes you can. stop taxing canadians their whole life and don't use loonies and toonies use gold or bitcoin.

the chinks do not pay canada taxes their whole life and their currency is manipulated same as canada so the lower classes just get swept in the undertow

>or you end up with de facto slavery.
oh you could that irony with a fucking knife

>willingly pushing a country into anarchy just so that foreign investors can make a few shekels is totally acceptable
Are you baiting or retarded?

Why the fuck can't they save up a downpayment and have a house built on an empty lot? It isn't much more complicated than buying an existing house, and you only suffer from the speculators if you buy a plot without shopping around.

People *need* housing to live. The free market does not apply to housing like it would with say fridges and cars: in a free market for those things, foreign competition drives down the price of products and improves the lives of the citizens by driving down the cost of living and increasing the standard of living.

With housing, being finite and absolutely neccessary for a person to survive, the free market leads to obscene exploitation of people unable to get on the ladder and is detrimental to the citizens of a country, as we are seeing with Canada.

I know it's nice to want to have a one-size fits all philosophy for the world, such as the Free Market or libertarianism, but the real world is incredibly conplicated and there are going to be many exceptions and quirks. Housing is one of them. I recommend Churchills essay on the matter.

>that's not necessarily a bad course of events and is an acceptable part of the free market system.

yeah thats the free market alright. magical hypotheticals dreamed up by bootlickers

why not? you need fridges and cars too

it's almost like the free market disincentivizes being a greedy jew

it's your shitty government letting this happen, not 'muh free market lmao feel the bern'

I explained in my post why not.

nah you made a bunch of baseless assertions

>Spent his life """contributing"""

These people are fucking failures.

>mfw canada is becoming a chinese satellite state

How are they baseless?

"A fool and his money will part quickly"

Meanwhile im 21 and ive got a deposit for my first investment property. In 2 months i should be ready enough to buy.
I did this by not being a retard and blowing my money

You can't import houses.

Fuck london. Fuck Vancouver. Move somewhere these chinks aren't buying and you won't have to worry about prices being artificially inflated. Let these slants piss away all of their money on houses here\there, its a win win for the host country. Everyone can't live in popular city centers, go elsewhere and you might be better off. Those of you who living socialist countries are lucky to even be alive much less able to buy a house. If i were dicktaster-in-chief of your shit countries you'd be lined up and shot for sedition.

It's not remotely close to libertarianism.

Existing properties influence new construction prices. If the 2 were not correlated then existing properties would never get this insane.

OP, the redditor is seeing the limits of globalization and internationalism. I've had libertarian views for a long time but understood that taxation and social cohesion must exist alongside freedom. I suppose it's called "traditional capitalism". Without society, neo-libertarian ideals cannot exist, it will simply implode. The issue that many westerners haven't had to confront in over 100 years is survival, the thing that created nations and society in the first place. Our instincts have been dulled but are reawakening because of threats to our survival and prosperity.

The redditor is pointing out that he followed "the plan" society gave him for success and now he's being shunned by that same society. Not only is he not being helped by his nation, he's actually being worked AGAINST by his homeland. Canada along with many other anglo countries have "investor citizenship plans" that allow a person to get citizenship simply by "investing" a certain amount of money into a country. Of course that money can come from anywhere whether it's money laundering, legitimate business or loans, but the main goal is citizenship. Canada's government has created an incentive to BID UP REAL ESTATE to the detriment of natives who've created the society in the first place. You can see how this is fucked up, right? This is not a case of libertarianism. If it were, citizenship wouldn't be given upon purchase nor would chinese buyers be getting loans through shady banks with no collateral at 1% interest rates.

This. I started working at 14 at a business owned by a friend of my dad's, jumped ship at 18, left and used that reference to get a better job.

Left and got an even better one, saved like fuck and ate on the cheap for a few years, and now I own my own house.

It's not that fucking hard if you have any sense around you.

Right.. That's why most of Sydney are up in arms about rising house prices. It'll settle itself out eventually, but the prices are annoying as fuck for most of us.

At the expense of sitting in your own basement, not socializing

Congratulations on buying at the peak of the market chaps, hope you enjoy your stagnate "investment" while your slaving away paying it off for the next 20 years. Better hope the market doesn't crash either lol.

>look guys I did it by sacrificing everything, therefore the current housing situation is not a problem
