It is super safe for tourists, just don't go to the far north or northern coast.
Whites always get a free pass. I can walk into any building, drive how I like, always get preferential treatment.
For a safari I recommend the Massi Mara, Ol Pejeta, and Samburu. With these you will see all the big game.
