my grandpa was in vietnam and had a frag explode too close to him. It damaged his hearing and since then he has had chronic migraines. He was prescribed painkillers for a couple years, but he complained about the side affects all the time, like a lack of emotion and not being able to sleep at night. Then he told me he had been smoking for a couple years when I was older, and he's a completely different person. Albeit, he is still partially deaf in one ear, but we go hiking and camping pretty often now instead of him just sitting in front of the tv all day. Prescription drugs are shit, they might as well have been giving him sugar pills the whole time. Hopefully you all will learn a few things as you grow up.
