>Lords of Salem this was Zombies shitty attempt at a Kubrickian film, there's no true symbolism, i remember watching an interview when he was going around plugging it, when asked about the imagery he said "idk, it's just weird idk i like it, one morning i asked for 4 dildos for a scene and they got it, idk i just like it"
his worst film.

For classic, classy, gothic atmosphere you basically need to focus on pre-70s films, OP.
> Almost all Golden Age Universal Horror. I'm talking 30s mostly, but if you enjoy the aesthetic their later films can still be fun.
> Hammer's Dracula, Frankenstein, and Mummy films, and then some stray titles from the studio here and there. Often anything with Peter Cushing or Chris Lee.
> Mario Bava's earlier films.
> AIP's Edgar Allen Poe films, or really anything involving Roger Corman or Vincent Price.
These are good starting points , just do a little research.

The recent Wolfman movie was okay atmosphere/set design wise. But the movie itself was shit.
