There isn't a 3 hour long directors cut.

No MEW

Who is this hag and why is her absence noteworthy?

it's not Alien

this

That's 4chanese for "Post moar of her"

>Putting women in films

ISHYGDDT

There is a woman in the movie. It's The Thing.

Alien ripoff.

Not enough memes.

Doesn't pass the Bechdel test

omg dude

They all haved flamethrowers

Its a little too good.

No sequel could ever live up to it.

I literally can't.

It was too good for the 80s

Also no 5 hour long commentary track where kurt russel and john carpenter and rob bottin answer every question i telepathically asked them over the years

Swedes,The perfect imitation?

No CGI

The blood test scene, Nauls doesn't clean the entire scalpel or use different scalpels. They are all the Things.

Yeah also Kurt is a Gary-stu why is he being vaguely heroic in this situation that calls on someone being vaguely heroic?

...

>Gary-stu
I don't think you know what that buzzword means

The ending claymation/CGI/composite shots weren't good.

Otherwise, 10/10, my favorite film of all time.

there is none, it's just ice

This, otherwise one of the best

I have this version.

People tried to remake it

Too much shock value, not enough inspection of the human condition.

I don't need every Thing victim to be shown and telegraphed a mile away, but I would have appreciated a tiny, tiny hint as to who got Blair and when

By making that shitty statement you just called Alien a rip-off of the thing

this, actually. honestly can't think of one.

This is the only good thing that was done with the property.

HOW THE FUCK CAN PEOPLE BE SO BASED???

youtube.com/watch?v=qUbclpxMyYs

YOU FUCKER NOW IM SAD AND ANGRY

fuck you the movie is one of the few movies that are literally flawless

the only other two that i can think of are Mad Max 2 and Predator

SOMEONE GOT TO THE BLAAAAHD

Its my favorite movie so I had to nitpick pretty hard.

FUCK I DIDN'T KNOW I WANTED THIS

Can't.

literally can't. there are only 15-25 movies id give a 10 and this is one of the first ones that comes to mind.

404 error: Flaw not found.

The Thing is the only monster movie that has ever given me nightmares.

American Indians have all kinds of stories about body snatchers and skinwalkers. I grew up with those stories from my family so The Thing was able to invoke my childhood fears. Kudos.

Doctor has a nose ring that distracts me when he's on screen

I agree, this always bothered me. They explicitly say that even a little bit of blood is enough to infect someone, yet he just roughly wipes the scalpel between use. A genuine mistake that makes this film a 0/10.

It's a dogshit flick redditors overrate.

These stupid teeth ruin the movie for me.

I fucking can't. It's a goddamned master piece.

Most repeatable horror movie in history.

Every single time you finish it, you just want to go back and watch it again. Fucking incredible movie.

>Claims to take place in the first week or two of winter in Antarctica.
>There's sun and pleasant weather.

Are you actually stupid enough to think that?

Redditors can't find a flaw.

>That commentary by these two

It's amazing. It's just two hours of Carpenter and Russel laughing their asses off and drinking booze to the most hilarious over the top gore and Rob Bottin's puppetry.

My absolute favorite movie of all time.

>Kurt during audio commentary w/ Carpenter, mimics Wilford Brimley's line "I'll kill you" and laughs/says it's a great line

Everytime

Kurt Russel doesn't hang dong

- typicly mediocre, not well thought or fleshed out story with an antagonist - the virus - acting so idiotic.

- certain parts of the filmsets look like made out of cartboard

- some practical effects outside the big monster look ass and didn't age well, for example the blood sample scene puppet that gets attacked by the thing

- it's a b movie style run of the mill typical hollowood monster movie, nothing more
