Huge Lynch fan. Seen all his movies. But I fucking hated Mulholland Dr even though I desperately wanted to like it. The only good scene was the one in the theater.
>mfw
Southland Tales was a piece of shit.
Kill yourself, retard.
>Davida Lynche
I'll kill myself after you explain why this movie isn't shit
Southland Tales is kino
Mulholland drive is tryhard pretentious bullshit
>settle it
is this some debate plebs are having?
ah the decade later Southland Tales was misunderstood at the time, and it's actually kino meme. When will this cringeworthy meme die?
(I liked it, but it's a mess, and it's not a good film)
Because it's his best movie, you stupid aborted retard.
You can't call yourself a Lynch fan and hate this movie.
No challenge, it's simply impossible to top Sir Dwayne Johnson acting:
youtube.com
MRW people dont like lynch
>why isn't it shit
>because it's good
Again,I'll get my helium tank ready if you can tell me why the movie started off with some bullshit 50s dancers and had a fucking homeless demon standing by the trashcan.
Also
>You can't call yourself a Lynch fan and hate this movie
Look at that I did just that
Idk what that shit on the left is but I know Southland Tales sucks
MASTERPIECE CONFIRMED
>hurrr durrr I didn't understand it so it's bad
You're just trolling at this point though, you're pretty obvious.
wrong, pretentious nu-male film school fagglet.
Lynch's best film is Elephant Man. Mullholland Drive is 4/10 trash. Even later Twin Peaks episodes are better than that shit.
>still no assertion of evidence that Mulholland Drive is good
I saw it in the theater opening night and there was nobody in there but myself and my friend. I always forget that movie exists.
watch the Cannes cut, it makes the movie 10/10
>reddit trying to fit in
Embarrassing.
How were you unable to understand this movie and still like many of his other movies? Are you mentally retarded?
not any of the anons you're "arguing" with but why can't you explain why it's a good movie? are YOU retarded?
>continuing to present no case as to the goodness of Mulholland Drive
How can he call himself a Lynch fan and don't understand this movie even though that type of crap is a basic element in many of his films?
>You can't call yourself a Lynch fan and hate this movie.
Spoke like a true scotsman, sir.
You're still not answering my question, Reddit.
Why are you unable to answer it?
UPBOATED.
>watch the Cannes cut
It's not on disc, right? I would need to download it?

Stop being a faggot and answer my question, Reddit.
This is like some kind of horrible coincidence. Years ago, when I first saw Mulholland Drive, I watched it back to back with Southland Tales. Neither film left a huge impression on me despite that at the time Donnie Darko was my favourite movie and I think I was trying to look for similar films. Now, I've seen Donnie Darko over 15 times and I officially come down impartial on it. Richard Kelly definitively proved he was a shit with "The Box". Mulholland Drive is a much better film than Southland Tales.
>why the movie started off with some bullshit 50s dancers
did you watch the whole movie?
during the dinner scene at the director's house near the end of the film Diane tells her story to Coco and she says that when she was in Canada she won some jitterbug contest and somehow [i don't remember the whole story] that led to her becoming an actress and coming to hollywood
the opening scene is that jitterbug contest; it even shows Naomi Watts winning with people clapping and shit
Winkie's is the place where she paid the hitman, and the blue key was the sign that the job was done
that's where the Winkie's "monster" and the blue box come from. they're just representations of Diane's guilt/regret
that's why after the scene where she pays the hitman and asks "what does it open" you see the monster holding the blue box and then the final scene where Diane kills herself
it's funny how most people who hate Mulholland Drive do so because they didn't understand it (not liking something isn't the same as hating it btw)
it's seriously not that hard to comprehend if you actually pay attention.
don't expect it be a deep-ass film with a big message and you'll be fine. it's just a well-made film told in a cool non-cronological order, that's it.
don't you dare fucking compare the two
you total fucking retard
all of that shit is easy to understand, see
lmao fucking fagggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!! wow embarrassing
>self-proclaimed Lynch fan
>hates his best and most Lynchian movie
Disdain for plebs.
Not any of the anons involved, but if you cannot say why a movie is good, then it must be a shit movie.
To add to this. If it IS Lynch's best, it will be very fucking easy to explain why.
YOu're argument was literally retarded, and the other user would have literally nothing, had you supplied your own subjective reasoning.
>lol he missed it
Is a valid argument, but he agreed and was asking you to explain it to him, something which you were uncapable to do.
Mulholland drive confirmed, by you, to be utter trash.
I am also a Lynch fan, MD is shit. Twin Peaks and Eraserhead are his best works.
Wow, you unironically did not GET it. The movie actually has a straightforward narrative, it's the structure that makes it hard for plebs to understand it and at the same time part of what makes the movie great.
Add to that the great performances, the dream like and terrifying atmosphere, great self contained scenes that nevertheless contribute to the overall film. Pretty much masterful filmmaking. The fact that it keeps the audience interested despite having a seemingly nonsensical narrative is an achievement on its own.
This is the most pleb opinion one can have on Lynch, even plebbier than thinking he is shit.
>muh emotional drama
You are better off watching shit like the English Patient or 12 Years a Slave.
Mulholland Drive is an amazing film
The atmosphere of dread and foreboding, the mystery it drops you in so effortlessly and the trademark lynch oddness along with the hilarious slapstick moments and Naomi Watts big old nipples make it a 10/10/
the scene where she faps without pleasure is one of the best depictions of depression ever
>tune into southland tales
>see buffy and some other sluts swearing at each other
>turn it off
guess I just don't ~get~ kino
Got it backwards, nigger.
Inland Empire is Lynch's best you fucking plebs
Tied with FWWM which is a perfect deconstruction of vampire stories
