I BEG TO DREAM AND DIFFER FROM THE HOLLOW LIES
why the fuck did green day turned to shit
I love every single record of them up to 21st century breakdown (except warning), especially their first 2. then they had to go full simpsons (we got songs FOR YEARS), plus the makeup, and the shitty lyrics and tunes, and suddenly political, and had to shit all over they had built.
In my heart I'll always love early 90s Green Day till death, but seeing them now is frankly embarrassing.
IM THE SON OF RAGE AND LOVE
WAKE ME UP
WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
I remember hearing this song for the first time and thinking wow talking shit on America now that's ballsy.
21stCB was after they got political

Dookie is their only real album and it loses all listenability once you become an adult. Sorry, friend.
Nah. Nimrod is ok.
To be fair, during the Bush administration this kind of was. Sure, their core demographic wasn't old fogies, but when The Dixie Chicks are having their careers destroyed for daring to say they don't like the president, then yeah it's a bit daring. I'm sure there were entire states where stations weren't playing their music and giving them exposure.
that was kind of the whole point, they along with other artists were mad at how cynical post911 fcc and media had become
...why am I explaining this?
I wasn't dissing the song, I was just saying that it was my first exposure to counter-culture and it blew my mind.

I mean, they were pretty fly for white guys
SHE
They peak, like so many other bands, with their original incarnation of slightly rebellious but approachable pop punk.
Nimrod definitely one of my favorite albums of all time. Big part of growing up etc.
BUT I totally forgot about their side project the Foxboro Hot Tubs.
youtube.com
I totally remember when the first two tracks dropped on MySpace as this like weird secret release.
Different internet then
sounds comfy
>le filthy punks grow up to be fathers meme
Fuck this. If you make music your fucking life, then stick with the image you build.
Or die young.
no, because you can't have 40 yrs old and keep writing like a teenager
>Mommy, can i be Kurt Cobain when i grow up? Pretty PLEASE!
>going to an arcade in the 90s
>Okay YAH YAH YAH YAH YAH!!!
Literally all the time every time.
>Only if I can be Courtney Love, dear.
Why did The Offspring, NoFX and Bad Religion age so __good__ compared to all these other skate punk bands???!!!
>tfw you missed every significant musical movement
To be fair, it was all over mid 90s. The last one was stoner rock.
Anti-flag aged pretty well too
Don't forget Pennywise
You'll always have Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, #borninthewrongdecade
>mfw 1980s master race
This is literally Simple Plan, and like every other pop punk band

Pretty decent desu fampai.
>I don't ever wanna
>I don't ever wanna be ((((((you))))))
>IF MONEY IS SUCH A PROBLEM
Wait... So your earlier post wasnt sarcastic?
Seriously? American pop culture is full of anti-American sentiment. Same with our education. Most of my teachers were spoiled far-left shitlords who spewed constant propaganda. Fortunately my mother was a refugee from a Communist shithole and so I was smart enough to reject the drivel I got from school and the media.
