I think my music should be a stand alone thing without a visual identity, so I try and not to be super flashily with the art I promote my music with. With that being said though I'm loosing focus and falling deeper into the hole of glitch asthetic.

Will actually rate and give feedback

Way too much imho. They are a bit of an eyesore to me. Especially the text

that's the point

Takes a long time to get going, but eventually gets really interesting. Reminds me of sonic advance 2 music

I worked on these songs since November, not because it's so precisely crafter, but because I'm a lazy shit

Nobody cares about your stupid ducking noise, literally no skilled required. Serisouly stop and learn an actual instrument.

Wait, how exactly? To refrain potential listeners for giving your stuff a look? Or is there something more quasi to it?

"Nobody cares about your stupid ducking noise, literally no skilled required. Serisouly stop and learn an actual instrument."

Dude I'm loving this! It's cute and quirky and I really admire that! The only thing I would recommend is some more experimentation, turn your vocals up in the mix, and extend your singing range. But other than that good job man!

It sounds like you just barely know how to play all the integumentary in your work, wich is pretty impressive for how much is there. It's not fun to listen to but your mixing is actually really impressive. Just get better at your instruments man and better song structures will come through.

Thanks for the listen and solid advice dude. Appreciate it.

i usually hate spoken word like this but the actual prose is bretty gud, i read it all. nice job!

Cute and nice but it does get a little boring after a while, I think it's because the vox are low and uninteresting. There's nothing wrong with the beat, it deserves more pizazz from the vocals

Where's the other one? I ctrl f'ed it.

Yes, early sonic soundtracks are genius. I was trying to get an overall 90s electronic DJ set kind of aesthetic and it was a big point of inspiration melodically.

This is slightly interesting, I don't like the combination of the tinny distorted sounds and the clean bass drums. I also don't like the sudden fade out.

I agree, this is cute. I don't really like to vocal production, just a bit too loud and bassy. Experiment a bit more with EQ to really glue things together. I might be wrong, but I also think you should try learning some music theory if you haven't already. There are times where I feel like you were trying to be sugary and it ended up bitter, but that could just be your intentions.

don't really like the* vocal production.

brain fart

Dude you're absoluty killer on guitar, you for sure have a firm grip on how to play your intrument. I will say though that there's nothing about your sound that's unique, and I want you to take that as postive as you can. I would just recommend to try and stray from the path a bit

Very. Very. Very boring. I peeped all the tracks and they were very uninteresting. Plus your voice sounds like you absoulty hate singing.

Recommending these guys, they always have the good stuff.

I'll review a few of the releases above in a bit.

Thank you! Funnily enough that was our former guitarist and we've seen replaced him with an even better dude. I am just vox/songwriting.

I've been debating changing the featured track. Did you listen to just Briefcase? That is our most basic (and funnily enough most well liked by the people in our scene)

Instrumentals are like baby polyphila (that's a good thing) but your singing is awful man. I would recommend not singing in your tracks till you get better. Solid instrumentals though man.

i love the designs and the idea of the songs. i think they need a little more fleshing out but you have a solid base

this is dope, i'm into the whole thang

I also peeped the first track, again really good! Defiantly talented! Just not original. You guys are capable to make something really unique and killer, you just got to think outside the box and become an oval!

Rejected songs from the portal 2 sound track????

Thanks again for checking more stuff out. We have been experimenting more with new stuff, like jazz rock and pivots and rhythmic change-ups since I brought better musicians into our lineup. Hopefully we'll have new stuff to record by the end of the year.

damn thanks so much taht means a lot!

love those classic synths. soo soothing and full of nostalgia yet modern vibes. vocals are good bedroom pop vibe - and right now is maybe the weaking spot, as you have a tendency to go flat when you hold out your notes. really cool stuff tho.

this one I listen to for a bit! i skipped around some so bear w me (37 minute track)

one of the strong points in this mix is how well the beats warp around and change on themselves. it's really intriguing and makes me wanna keep listening and feeling happy :)

Question...
I use FL Studio 11 and right now I've got mixer volumes to a level I like, it's all mixed and mastered. The issue is when I export the file, it is much quieter than it is when I listen to the track on FL Studio.

Can I simply load up the exported wav file into Wavepad and amplify it to get it sounding as loud as professional tracks, or is that not recommended? Is there a way to get this done on FL Studio?

turn up the volume in fl studio

how?

...

cheeky cunt

It plays as loud as I want it inside the FL Studio program. The rpoblem is the exported wav file is reduced in volume.

That's just how audio drivers work. Anways, make it louder than you want in fl studio to compensate.

Oh....

let's see... by about how much louder is recommended generally?

Everyone's computer/audio drivers are different. It's trial and error, but once you find it you'll be alright. I guess try 10% more

QOTD Answer: I try to not put too much effort into it. I prefer to not over do/think it.

About 10 mins in and love it.

I think this board forgot what experimental means

I'd take the criticism more as "I don't care for experimental music" than anything actually constructive

I tend to like experimental electronic myself and found this to be interesting which I'm sure is the point

real nice spacious shit, but I can't say that I haven't heard everything you're doing here before. I think you guys have talent but I think you could do with having a bit more creativity as to where things go.
I have to kind of reiterate, I like the tones and textures and how spacey it is but I can't say that (outside of the spacey vibe) I haven't heard all this kinda stuff before. You could do with a bit more of the spooky spacey vibes (synths in track two, echoing vocals in track 3, the kinda lazery sounding synths/possibly guitar pedal effects in 4) and also more hooks and maybe refrains in the songwriting.
_lostluv has really nice progression, _holdon is the track that really shines as a completed piece, _luv has a pretty weak perfomance on it, and the rest need a strong performance on them, even just some indie singer who u know that can't make music get someone over those tracks. (kinna hypocritical there desu bc thats what my tracks need too)

Just a mellow track and a noisy track, artwork always 10 minute photoshop job custardsquare.bandcamp.com/

I love gearporn analog electronic music
I'm really impressed by the TR808 drum sounds, those drum machines cost a fortune.
You should focus on that breakcore/glitch sound more

There's a guy from my town who plays similar music, but he's been doing it for longer and he builds his own modular synths and drum machines
tigrics.bandcamp.com/album/synki

Really enjoyed the concept and variety here with all the different acts.

Thanks. I really dig your stuff

It was one of the more polished releases here for one, but the sounds were just extremely lush and beautiful while also being chaotic and violent at times. This contrast really made for an interesting listen. There are some really complex ideas going on sonically that I think hides itself well in a veil of noise. Typically the genre is not very subtle but I think this album really stood out because of it. There were also moments where you let the listener breathe a bit as to not get suffocated in the noise by calming things down with more ambient drones with the noise taking more of a background role which helped the album flow really well and feel more like a complete and cohesive experience. I could also tell that I was listening to someone with talent or an ear for music making noise as opposed to someone just randomly making noise without any musical background. Also, the actual mix was very well done. Kudos on this release. I would say that A Kapu was my favorite track.

Thanks man
Glad you like it

Very solid

I hate to be accusatory here, but did you buy those beats or something? There seems to be a big disconnect between the vocals/art and the beat itself. If you made the beat then kudos, that part was nice (if a tad boring) and I'd recommend producing for people.

QOTD: Not much honestly, I really should but when it comes to that I'm no artist lmao. Maybe I'll put more time into that whole side of things next time I throw something out.

What a gem this was. I liked the variety and the melodies a lot. Not only was it just a different interesting listen overall but it also had solid tight production to cap it all off.
