You should be more angry for losing against bearded "lady" from Austria. It's not that I found his performance bad or anything, but the whole beard and drag queen thing was a clear gimmick to appeal for the vote.
The dutch entry was more pure and sincere. It's the type of performance I like the most.

Well, yes and no. Different regions listen to different kinds of music here.
The east of the country has pure country music. Amsterdam also some British hipster music. It's non-existent in the rest of the country.
In the south marching bands are incredibly popular. And in the west accordion music.
In my city in the center of the country there are a lot of street organs.

Australia gets tons of points because you don't offend your neighbours by voting for them, voting is all about political blocs, all the Scandinavian countries vote for each other, the same with the Baltic states, Southern Europeans etc.
