Was it a good ending?

Was it a good ending?

It doesn't matter how it compares to others,

what matters is how it made YOU feel

it made me feel gay

Most people dismissed the possibility of this being the ending because it was daft and stupid.
Possibly the greatest cop out of all time.
But then you see the rest of JJ's work and it all makes sense. Fucking hack.

>they were dead all along
>good
pretty weak b8 desu

behold, the deepest guy in the internet.

I loved it.

not at all.

they should have taken the time in season 6 to wrap things up properly instead of trying keep the mistery going until the very end.

The reason it was stupid and soft and a copout and the reason nobody expected it to be the ending is that the producers literally said "it's not purgatory" back in season 4. In the meantime they did not specifically discount any other fan theories. Then, by any reasonable account, they revealed that it was purgatory in pretty much everything but name. If they had just ignored all the theories and then came out with the ending, it would have been half dumb, but less annoying than it was. As it was it just made people mad for obvious reasons.

Not to mention the shift to pure fantasy because magic was literally the only way lindelof could think to write himself out of the hole he was in.

What the fuck was the point of Desmond?

He failed in the task which the island chose him for, and Jack, despite seemingly lacking Desmond's ability to endure massive electromagnetic forces, ended up doing Desmond's job for him.

Shit writing.

>they were dead all along
what made people think this

The ending in the regular timeline was pretty solid..... if a bit to anti-climatic. Charles Whitemore, Desmond, lots of characters under used, some over used like Ben and Kate.

The flash sideways shit was the stupidest biggest waste of time ever. They could have done the last season without it.

no idea, but it was fucking annoying. I probably had to explain close to 100 people that thats not even what happened and they didnt understand the ending. Doesnt jacks dad literally say something like "you werent dead the whole time, everything on the island happened"

they test marketed reactions to each character fondling the island's buttplug and jack got the best results.

the show was literally written by test marketing.

Emotionally? Yes. Logically and a good conclusion to the plot? No way, it left some unsolved stuff, and everything went like "It was island magic, Ain't gonna explain shit"

No, christian says everything happened and mattered. He's mute on whether they were dead the whole time.

The point of his speech was to keep people from thinking it was all a jacob's ladder type dream.

So yes, they were dead the whole time. But all the shit was real.

Also saying "you didn't understand the ending" isn't actually explaining the ending.

I love how mainstream culture tries to force a distinction between logic and emotion.

Every thing that happened on the island happened it the real world. They saved the world.

The flash sideways was their after life they created.

Yes, because the afterlife is the real world.

But they were dead the whole time. Everyone on the island was dead.

ethos, pathos, logos motherfucker. there has always been a distinction to be made.

false

Its okay if you didn't understand the ending. The writers didn't have a firm handle on what they were doing either.

>But they were dead the whole time.
No they were not, even Jack's dad said "Some died before you, some way after you", basically confirming the ones who left the island died of old age.

...

You're totally misremembering everything christian said.

But its okay, you're still trying to pretend lost wasn't horrible six years after it ended.

>Ethos, Pathos, and Logos are modes of persuasion used to convince audiences.

... That doesn't mean there's an actual distinction between the three.

not that user but are you for real? it was pretty clear what happen

This is exactly why the ending was shit, 10 years later people are still asking for explanations. That's what happens when you make weird shit up as you go along.

The ending itself was good, but most of the last season leading up to it was pretty weak.
