Arcade Fire on Colbert
Other urls found in this thread:
what song is it
Didn't watch. Arcade Fire are in the same state U2 were in in the late 90s. They tried too hard to go full dance-y and comment on pop culture and forgot how to make decent songs.
It's on literally right now
Everything now
Is there a stream link?
It'll probably be on YouTube in a few mins.
no
i bet win is the type who takes two scoops, what does colbert think now?
arcade fire really called the FIRE DEPARTMENT on their last record and they have found them selves drowning in the cold still water of mediocraty as fthey preciously try to dance themselves free yet there is no air on the syrface...the album wasnt good
to each their own, I enjoyed it. (this coming from someone who enjoyed the suburbs, neon bible and funeral but never got around to hearing reflector)
I thought I was tired of arcade fire til I heard this
I've literally never seen a more mixed reception album before in my life, literally every single time I see someone call the new record shit theres always one person that'll say they really enjoyed it. It's so odd.
how was it? was it awkward like every late night performance is?
There is a clear video game soundtrack sample in everything now with that flute, I just cant make out what it is.
I really like it
It is very bad for Arcade Fire, it's not particularly good on its own (it doesn't have those moments of sheer brilliance that Reflektor had that balanced out the mediocrity). However, Everything Now is really fucking catchy for those (like me) who still really dig 80's Eurotrash momcore, and really if you cut out the stretch between Chemistry and Good God Damn you'd probably have an alright 7/10 album. It's just depressing to see yet another 2000s rock juggernaut tumble to the ground because they've lost the spark that made them click.
plz save indie Jeff Mangum you're our only hope
jeff is the only man i trust to save indie
yep. I love the album desu. I also don't see the mixed reception being a bad thing either. Their status as infallible indie gods is honestly stupid. Especially today in an equally stupid environment where there's a clear formula to get critics to praise your album and thus manipulate fan thought.
> Arcade Fire have ascended to a tier where they don't care about Pitchfork nonsense anymore
They have my attention. Other pleb bands should take note. The National doesn't have the balls to make a disco record but will continue to make sad mopey shit and get a BNM.
They played Everything Now on the show and I imagine it will go up in the morning.
Here's a web exclusive, Creature Comfort
a shit tier. p4k is shit but so is this album.
that sounds good live actually. turn down the fog machine though.
The music kind of drowns out Regine's vocals.
Does Colbert have a secret crush on Trump? That's all he seems to talk about on his show.
Yes, his show was bombing before he started his Trump shtick. He owes Trump his life. We all do.
Stop politicizing, fuckheads.
