New movie to add to your 2016 watchlist

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_(film)

hey letterboxd, what are some of the best news source and blogs for films? Letterboxd alone is a great source for movies, but I'd like a website with consistent article output.

What are your favorite Japanese movies? In particular, Japanese thrillers / crime / yakuza, horror, or jidaigeki.

What japanese movies would you recommend to someone who wants to get into asian cinema or movies in general?

>Tokyo Drifter
>Stray Dog
>Jigoku
>Rashoman
>Yojimbo
>Sonatine
>Ryuji

have fun user

Tokyo Drifter vs Branded to Kill

Which do you prefer?

>Look at films watched
>Already 1000

It doesn't even feel like that many.

drifter

cinematography alone blows a ton of shit right out of the water, especially around the start and the finish, used to have a webm that was a meshed perfect example of what i'm talking about but can't find it for the life of me which is frustrating as fuck right now, because i'm the one who made the fucking thing

FUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK

they were too cartoony for my taste and i don't remember much about them, but i also smoked a lot of weed that year so idk

is this a good review?

...

letterboxd.com/Katzelmacher/

Rec me some zombie movies that are as good as Day of the Dead

true review atleast

did a horror watchlist for October

letterboxd.com/white_water/list/31-horror-movies-i-gotta-watch/

Who looking forward to SJB's smackdown on (re)Assignment???

Letterboxd event of the year for sure

should have been "straight white men are dumb" tb h

>Americans don't get a joke unless there is a laughing track
>Americans eat food made out of genetically enhanced corn syrup and plastic
>Americans wear shoes while bathing
>Americans claim to be a democracy free from their British overlords and yet use the imperial measurement system
>Americans are born with personal debt and live on the nod
>Americans heat their fluorinated water in their microwave
>Americans get shot by and for pretty much anything
>Americans can only speak either English or Spanish
>brown people are considered white in America
>killing a black person turns you white in the American census
>Americans can vote only for either a hotel mogul with dementia or a female Zionist agent that spits biblical plagues into drinking water

no favorites?

steakbro is his favorite

Hard to choose just four, but my number one is Korkarlen.

No, but this isn't a good post either.

I agree, you should try making better posts

It's not that hard. i just don't have to spam the same review in every thread.

>every day until you like it
It actually works.

im afraid to review movies on lgb in fear of getting bent

Just be yourself

How does dagon compare to in the mouth of madness?

haven't seen in the mouth of madness yet
but Dagon has all the makings of a cult classic

>1752 films
>0 five star ratings

not really, it's a low quality, efort shitpost that bringes no discussions but ''SJW's are so dumb amirite?

+5ยข

>tfw no spoiled gf

Branded to Kill, it feels more consistent, whereas Tokyo Drifter kind of drags in the middle.

No, but this isn't a good board either, and here we are.

What's so special about you?

letterboxd.com/yawned
Can't be bothered to screenshot what I watched recently and so on but the hunt for wilder people was pretty comf
Rec me some dope movies to watch when you're nodding

Not much

I was/am really looking forward to watch THFTW, but I suppose I'll have to wait for the blu-ray for subtitles :(

THFTW? The hunt for the wilderpeople?

I thought it was pretty clear, even more in the context of the thread, friendolino.

>tfw you think youre being too critical of movies you watch, that mayeb youre just being negative
>tfw you then watch a really good movie and realise that is what a great movie looks like and that most other movies arent up to snuff

never drop your standards fellas

I still have no idea what movie you're on about tb.h
Was I right?

i disliked Branded to Kill

So what is special?

i want to see him in a dress

Too true, good point. Greatness and masterpieces matter

Yes, it is THFTW(The Hunt For The Wilderpeople)

Why do you need subs for it? It's in English
If you can post on Sup Forums you can watch an english film m80

>you watch a movie and you think its bad
>you watch a movie and you think its good
>never change who you really are fellas
wow really made me think...

I can touch my tongue to my nose

You can't even fucking write.

no you are the super retard

Shit taste coming in:

letterboxd.com/UtahGimmeTwo/

I use subs for pretty much everything. Minor autism but they are always a cure for anxiety. That english is the main language of most films I watch means little. For example, I could deal without any actual loss standard american stuff, but something from england, or ayyscotish or ebonics can easily sound like gibberish to my ears.
So, I shall wait subtitles for THFTW.

>ayy scottish
kek
Fair enough then f.a.m

...

letterboxd.com/cakewalker/

that's messed up

>anime picture
>double quotes

I think it's not so uncommon. Who could for example watch The Wire without subtitles?

My mouse double clicks.

Most native english speakers i would think ?

No it's not, you're english so you don't understand.
Do you even speak a language apart from english?

>speaking anything but English
>being anything but anglo
ugh I can't even right now

i'm getting pretty good at italian because i hate watching movies with subtitles

haha

It's because you fucking murricans mumble. Can't hear shit.
Old films are God-tier. Everyone speaks clearly.

This is a good point. As filmmaking methods and sensibilities changed, they became more relaxed or 'real', generally. Studio classic products have a great diction.

>>A Bloody Spear on Mount Fuji
>The spear only gets bloody in the area surrounding Mount Fuji
Boy I really hope Tomu Uchida got fired for that blunder.

thats because old movies are like theatre where actors telegraph to the audience

mumbling is real shit

old films are better anyway and by old i mean pre-70s

Just 3 stars? That's a very good film.

70s has some of the best movies though.

>Watch movie X
>It's great, give it five stars
>Watch movie Y
>It's amazing, give it five stars
>Movie X isn't as good as movie Y, have to re-rate it

I wish I wasn't borderline autistic with the ratings.

It's not bad in any way, it just didn't leave much of an impression on me.

Yeah, you can't appreciate it yet.

REMINDER

>Inherent Vice has 3 votes
>TWBB has 3 votes

Come on.

letterboxd.com/samtlx/

Better than the original.

Got me dude, nice one.

I've only started rating after I made the account

Well, then rate all of them nigger.

So you remember all 1752 movies you've watched in your life?

I'm sorry you feel that way.

letterboxd.com/pastafrola/

Yes

Why that image?

based machill learning italian while doing what he loves

its heckin cool

>heckin
delet this right now
Sup Forums is a christian board

who?

/lbg/'s designated cuck

It is

i'm convinced machill54 keeps shitposting about himself to turn himself into a meme as he is the most uninteresting, unfunny and fucking pathetic lbxd poster
Like who the fuck could care about him other than the guy who adopted him?

>the most uninteresting, unfunny and fucking pathetic
And yet he has many followers and is talked about on here.

people like blood sausage

letterboxd.com/lozjudai/

Why no ratings for Dragon Ball flicks?
