Just a reminder that it wasn't the same guy

it was though

It was the same guy. That's why he doesn't kill Upham on the way down, because Upham argued for his life back at the machine gun nest. Upham doesn't know he sniped Miller, but he knows he killed his comrade.

These two aren't the same but the guy shoots miller towards the end is steamboat willy... he even says "Ich kenne den typen" (" I know this guy ") after that typewriter guy fights out his cowardism and stops the german soldiers from retreating.

Ok? Yeah, THOSE weren't the same guy. The guy on the left did shoot the captain when he was walking on the bridge

The dude who knifed the Jew wasn't the same, but the German POW does show up at the end.

>Played by two different actors
>Wearing two different uniforms
>With two different haircuts
>'It was the same guy'.

Why let facts get in the way of your opinions?

Upham shot him because he's the worst kind of cowardly bitch and the worst character in the movie. He has no way of knowing that he's avenging Captain Miller. He shoots him because after all the fighting he's finally got a bunch of surrendered Germans at gunpoint and he wants to take out his frustration having failed to save Mellish from the knifing.

>saving private ryan
>all the germans areugly and cowardly
>in real life they were blonde, chiseled and heroic
>germans die like flies
>in real life they mowed down 5 to 10 americans for every loss in infantry combat
>most american kills came from aircraft and artillery

Why?

History is written by the victors.

>omaha beach
>"americans" are dying like flies
The easy killing of germans was supposed to be a mirror to the beach landing.

t.werhaboo

>t.werhaboo

American generals wrote about how crap their infantry was compared to the germans.

At the end of the war they experimented by sending elite units against some german hold overs in southern germany without air or artillery and the germans basically made mince meat of them, since they were eastern front veterans used to fighting the russians.

Because he was an honorable warrior. He only killed people that wanted him dead.

Was I the only one happy when he stabbed the Jew?
Cocksucker was fucking cocky with his little necklace to those POW's and got what was coming to him.

>At the end of the war they experimented by sending elite units against some german hold overs in southern germany without air or artillery and the germans basically made mince meat of them

Proof?

If you want to talk shit about american infantry in WW2 just take a glance at the pacific campaign

You might have
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosopagnosia

I wasn't happy but its such a brillaint fuckibg scene; its horrifying brutal intimate and intense and ephemeral. Not many scenes can pull off so many emotions at once

devastated by rice farmers and forced to drop the atom bomb hahaha ... americans a shit in infantry, couldn't even win a war against themselves.

Legitimately had no idea these were different guys.

Dumb mobileposter.

The second guy literally calls Upham by his name. How would he know his name if it wasn't the same guy? Kill yourself.

I know, right?
The first guy has Herr insignia and the other has SS insignia.

They are different people.

Why is he so smug?

B-betty boop?

Because he's in the Waffen SS.
I would be smug if I fought for the Reich.

You can clearly tell nigga is from Eastern Front
He doesn't even give a fuck, he has starred in the abyss and came back to shit on Allies

So what, our tanks were inferior too but it didn't matter because we had four times as many.

Like Stalin said: quantity has a certain quality.

What do you mean why? Do you think Americans would fucking make a movie about how they got shit on by under trained and not seasoned soldiers ?

Upham argued for Steamboat Willie because they had no proof he killed Wade.

He saw him kill Miller and realized his actions had brought it to this and had to do something to prevent it happening again.

...

Bait as fuck but you know nothing

Well the concesus is that WW2 American soldiers ware uber Heros while Vietman ones ware Rapist, Junkies, Murderers and Draft dodgers

Spielberg left a gem in there with the "German" soldiers babbling in Romanian

To plebs it's worthless German soldiers, to patricians it's worthless foreign auxiliary units

except that americans couldn't win against even less advanced rice farmers a couple of decades later...

>Americans killing POWs in Band of Brothers, Fury, Saving Private Ryan
>Good guys
>Germans holding American POWs in relatively nice conditions in Hogan's Heroes, the Great Escape
>Bad guys

REALLY

MAKES

Stephen Spielbergs a Jew.
I'm not suprised.
Fucking Jews control every major film company.
Look it up.
I dear you.

>romanian
It was Czech.

I always wondered about this. I remember seeing the movie and not thinking they were the same guy, but people told me they were. So I go back and watch it and think "yeah I guess they are the same. Must be the lighting." But I still didn't think they were. But now where typewriter guy shoots him at the end makes a little less sense. Though it still makes sense I guess.

Why did they lose?

what did the Jüden ever do to you? Just because you're not of the chosen race doesn't mean you have to be jelly

Upham kills the guy they set free at the radar tower.

so committing war crimes is good?

Rice farmers backed by Russians and Chinese, slipping into civilian populations who were coerced into silence, and disappearing across the border where the Americans couldn't operate. It was unwinnable from the start

It's really stupid they didn't just blast Upham when they had more numbers and automatic weapons. I think the re-en actors are laughing at the ridiculousness of this scene.

>in real life they mowed down 5 to 10 americans for every loss in infantry combat
[citation needed]

>most american kills came from aircraft and artillery
>aircraft
No.

>American generals wrote about how crap their infantry was compared to the Germans
Completely false. The American soldiers were some of the most well equipped soldiers of the war. Good rations, excellent weaponry and an excellent supply chain. Access to motor vehicles amplified this compared to the Germans who mostly used horses for logistics. Not even counting how effective our tanks, artillery and aircraft were.

only when the americans are doing it

The Czechs on the beach were killed out of revenge and were probably innocent. Willie was let go and comes back to kill Miller.

The point is that there's clear cut path in war and these guys have the make the decisions themselves. Blindly following rules can be as much and abandonment of morals as ignoring them.

No because Upham was a fucking pussy and he could have been saved. I really hope Jewberg wasn't trying to redeem Upham but shooting an unarmed guy after the battle was over

>and realized his actions had brought it to this and had to do something to prevent it happening again.

More like

>He killed him because he didn't want Reiben to find out who killed Miller, thus murdering him and the SS guy in a fit of rage.

>across the border where the Americans couldn't operate
Except Americans did operate in Cambodia and Laos.

>want to kill him
>stop because it's a war crime
Top kek

They enjoyed getting naked a lot.

>History is written by the victors.

History is written by the jews.

>Willie was let go and comes back to kill Miller

Killing an enemy combatant in war is not a crime though. He's as innocent as any other soldier on either side

>what did Spielberg mean by this?

Probably the same as when he put a mass grave of horses at the German front line in War Horse. Despite admitting earlier that Germany was bled dry by the British blockade and thus had to scrounge for war materials everywhere. Yet, they genocide horses en masse without caring for effectivity or at least eating the dead horses.
Just to get that nice holocaust-style picture of a mass grave to show even the slowest idiot in the audience that Ze Germans were always evil, even if it's just a cozy horse flick.

tl;dr Spielberg enjoys portraying Germans as savages

TypicAl nazi faggots lmao

you FUCKING retards

Just watch the scene again. Do you not clearly see that one has the SS insignia on his collar while the guy upham shoots is wehrmacht?

Go fucking kill yourselves, kiddos

THEY HAD CONVERSATION WITH EACH OTHER ON THE HILL WITH THE BUNKER YOU DUMB FUCK

Holy shit do any of you actually pay attention to the movies you watch?

>tl;dr Spielberg enjoys portraying Germans as savages
this

He is a jew after all. It'd be surprising if he didn't do so.

>mfw the jew tries to make a deal before he dies.

American soldiers were considered by the brits as "Retards with nice toys"

>what did Spielberg mean by this?
If you want to be a cool, respected badass, you gotta commit a war crime or two.

"what did Spielberg mean by this?"

>Nazis shit on his race
>he's angry, shows them he's a jew who fights back
you don't have to love Jews to understand why he was acting like that

in both SPR and BoB, the POW killings are portrayed in a very negative light. The Americans are the general good guys, but the movies don't present every action that they do as good.

The double standards are there for sure though.

HOW DID HE KNOW UPHAMS NAME?!

I wasn't happy but I didn't hate the German. He tried to comfort the Jew while forced to kill him, if the Jew had been on top he would've snapped a witty one liner and kicked his corpse

Not only that but it just shows that nobody is safe in war, regardless of where they come from or who they are.

>if the Jew had been on top he would've snapped a witty one liner and kicked his corpse
The Jew was fed American propaganda about universal German mistreatment of Jews (while it wasn't universal it was very extensive) and was probably filled with a lot more hate towards the Germans than the Germans were towards him. Also, I don't think the German knew that the Jew was a Jew but maybe I'm just not remembering it right. If he knew, and he was an SS, he probably wouldn't have been very nice.
I'm not saying the Jew would've been justified, indeed he cements himself as a fucking asshole ever since he shot the two surrending Czech soldiers in Omaha beach, but things like that can be explained by just human emotion.

One thing people in Sup Forums like to do is to completely ignore emotionally-led actions of characters when criticizing them. There's probably a few here who also go on about Upham being such a coward who deserved getting shot and whatnot.

Exactly this

[citation needed]

I thought he didn't kill Upham because the German just got done with killing another person in a very close, very horrific way.

Upham wasn't a threat and the German wasn't willing to kill again, hence why he not only does not kill Upham, but he walks in a light daze while going down the stairs.

You just said the same thing he did.

kek

Wehraboo plz.

>>in real life they were blonde, chiseled and heroic
Not the miserable underequipped conscripts in the western front, no. They were pretty miserable in Russia too.

...

The only good Nazi is a dead Nazi.

Not allowed to though. We couldn't have ordered every patrol to follow across the border. When I was in Afghanistan we had to request permission that would take 30 mins to an hour to get back and by then it was too late they were gone. If we got caught across the border without permission people were getting relieved of duty

>allied tonks were inferior meme
This is incorrect

>what is Malmedy Massacre
>what is Saints and Soldiers

b8 or delusional

god damn you people are nuts

Axis a shit in both Navy and Air Force.....hey Hans how's your strategic bombing campaigns going...or wait, better yet your airborne operations

dude those are two different people he pow just randomly shows up later. the other one just pretty much spared uphams life. fuck i love this movie.

>I SAY CAN YOU SEE
>I SAY CAN YOU SEE
sounds like what he said when he was pleading for his life before upham saved his ass.

Who the fuck confused those two?

So? He kills him for being the same Prisoner from before and not doing what he promised.

>go walk in a straight line until some other Allied unit finds you and commits some more war crimes on you
>oh you were released from our captivity and while being completely free decided to rejoin the Wehrmacht, something that you probably had to do otherwise they'd catch you and put you up for treason
>you deserve to get shot when you're helpless and unarmed

Exactly, it's completely fucking insane
