The movie's called Se7en, which is a play on 'Seven', which is in reference to the seven deadly sins. The killer in the movie kills based on those sins. Putting semi-hidden visual sevens in the movie like that is just a neat little gimmick that David Fincher, the director of the movie, decided to do for fun. Kinda cool.
