What the fuck is this shit? Why are they doing a re-enactment gimmick? It's fucking annoying

What the fuck is this shit? Why are they doing a re-enactment gimmick? It's fucking annoying.
Idk if I'm gonna give episode 2 a chance

what if it's not re-enactment but an actual flashback ? as in they are different actors because they got taken over by the skinwalker/wendigo that seems to be lurking ? just my guess but could be pretty fun

>Why are they doing a reenactment gimmick

We don't know. I'll keep you posted though.

Still better than the crab freak season already.

Honestly I can tell it's gonna be a good season. I like the Blair witch vibe too

Why is the Black Male/White Female relationships pushed so much in the media?

My guess is they will do the re-enactment arc for like 3 to 4 episodes and completely change it up

Worst e1 so far... I hope the rednecks come back.

Jews. I was just about to post something on how they just had to shoehorn in an interracial couple.

This, I don't even give enough of a fuck to want watch the rest

why the fuck is anyone still watching this show at this point? it's gotten like post season 4 dexter bad at this point. i stopped watching after that godawful witch season.

After the literal gay agenda that was the last season I welcome the interracial couple.

Because every season is completely different making it completely different from late seasons of a completely serialized show.

>it's ok to go out with black guys little girls
>see all these hollywood actresses doing it? >look at your favorite celebrities the kardashians, they're all dating a new black person every other week
>go ahead, it won't come back to bite you. we promise.

it doesn't matter if every season is different if every season is fucking awful. i wasn't comparing the actual show to dexter, just the fact that it's horrible.

>durrrr who cares if there have always been white+white relationships in the media how dare they show interracial relationships rrreeeeee

Because even seasons 3-5 had episodes here and there that were fairly enjoyable

I'm already fucking annnoyed and I'm three minutes into the first episode. This editing is atrocious and half of the show has been actors staring at the camera as they deliver their lines.

But it hasn't been good since Asylum

You must really feel threatened by black guys

I must admit I liked hotel because of March and John. The rest was shit.

So far, its way less tumblr than usual.

What little girls are watching a TV-MA horror show on FX lol?

do i have to watch the previous seasons or is this some new shit every time like fargo?

You should watch the first and second seasons. Avoid 3-5

Who thought it would be a good idea to do this re-enactment shit? It completely dissolves the tension away because I know they will survive.

My niece likes this show.

She shouldn't be watching it

Is it not okay to go out with black guys?

not him but i have a nephew who is almost my age.

It is if your goal is single motherhood

Murder House > Coven > Asylum > Hotel > Freak Show

Just don't go out with an unemployed thug and you'll be fine

I think because Cuba Gooding Jr. was in the American Crime Story anthology, he was also interested in American Horror Story anthology.

So she's not exactly a little girl then huh?

She is though. She's smart enough to know the pilot of this season was weak.

Great

It reminds me of Celebrity Ghost Stories.

I had to skim through it at 2x... There is so much fucking padding throughout the whole episode and everything about it is just boring as fuck. Unless it turns out to be some sort of meta joke and the next episode is when it really starts this is going to be the worst season by far. Each scene with these actors being mediocre as fuck on purpose due to the gimmick is just tedious and irritating. Even the way it's shot and the lighting just seems overly shitty.

The only people who will be able to enjoy this garbage are the ones who like Scream Queens...

I think that had better acting. The main actress is awful so far.

i used to watch shows like this all the time when i was a kid. that's not the point though. black male/white female couples are literally everywhere on tv and in movies these days. the most popular movie franchise on the planet looks like it's going to have a BM/WF couple pretty soon.

How fucking hard could they ape The Conjuring, holy christ

well 95% percent of black males aged 18-35 are unemployed thugs.

1/3 of black males will serve prison time in their lifetime.

Good. I want my wife to be eased into my new cuck fetish.

There is going to be a self-reflexive twist halfway through the season where the reality of the show will collapse upon itself like Berberian Sound Studio.

Then you better go with other 2/3 then and date that's not 18-35 ;)

Yeah I think it will be True Detective-esque and come back around at the end, because Ryan Murphy has completely given up.

This season is off to a weak start.

>shameless Blair Witch rip off right before Blair Witch commercial
Well this is yet another season I can safely skip.

It's about time someone raised awareness for the white street gang problem

After Hotel, I've given up watching AHS week to week. I suggest you do the same.

Underrated post

Fucking awful taste

Asylum>Murder House>the rest is garbage with Coven at the bottom

Close.

Murder House>Rest is Garbage

?
Toxic propaganda aimed at the more vulnerable in our society is never acceptable, fucking retard
Every one of these coal burners is a tragedy

Asylum>murder house>hotel>>>>coven>>>>>freakshow

This post will be dedicated to all the things I liked about the premier

murder house >> coven >> asylum >>>> freakshow

Haven't seen hotel yet.

They're ripping off Paranomal Witness, which is actually a great show

Yeah okay we get it. It's the jews. Always the jews. Don't watch it if it drives you that mad

First half of murder house > dog shit > second half of murder house > everything else

I wonder how much the toned down tone was due to the addition of Cuba Gooding Jr.

IE Ryan Murphy is purposely toning down the gore and gay and camp so he could get Cuba to do the show.....

Given that he wrote OJ 100% sympathetic, I can kind of see Murphy being a bit starstruck and wanting to pander to a (once) famous Academy Award winning actor like Gooding

It's a reenactment. Full stop.

Note that the "real" wife is played by Lilly Rabe, who shot to fame on AHS then bailed first chance she got. Ten gets you twenty, Murphy decided to do the reenactment framing sequence A. to get Rabe back, since she could film her scenes in one or two days and B. gives them a heads up on finding out an ending for the season since the reenactment aspect means that Ryan is locked into which characters live.

Plus, it lets them bring Cuba Gooding Jr in and spoof the stunt casting by having him play himself acting as the "real" husband....

this,

you guys need to stop being trigger-queens

>that knock out skin

It was funny as fuck

I think it's more because the "haunted house true story TV show" format is due to two things:

1. Murphy's basically gone through just about every horror trope he can get his hands on, leaving him with little material to work with, especially since he's started doing call backs to past seasons/retreading ground already covered.

2. That Ryan Murphy is creatively shot due to over-extension (American Crime Story, American Horror Story, Scream Queens, that new show about Betty Davis/Joan Crawford that is supposed to come out next year along with American Crime Story Katrina) and he's basically phoning it in this season with a lazy plot that basically requires zero creativity.

The later would also explain the marketing: when you are creatively spent and can't be arsed to come up with anything GOOD, you fall back to the whole "Mystery Box" gimmick to trick people into thinking you have something big planned.

What is her FUCKING problem?

100% agreed. It got a little interesting with the breathing ground thing, but honestly it's everything I hate in current "horror" movies and that's a turn off for me. I skipped season 3 after a few episodes, so if this one doesn't pick up next episode I'm fucking done. I seriously hope they drop the gimmick because not only are they not doing it justice, but I've actually been more freaked out by those re-enactment shows than this shit.

Wounded Ego Syndrome: She used to be a big time cop, which gave her power she wallowed in as far as feeling like she was better than everyone else. Even though she was a worthless junkie/bad parent casting shade on people she felt superior to, because of her badge.

Then she lost it all: her fancy job as a cop and her husband and child. Furthermore, being bounced for drug addiction basically is a kiss of death in law enforcement: she can't even get work as a rent a cop with that on her record as why she was fired.

Most likely she hates on her sister-in-law because it's the only thing she's got left in her life to give her that sense of superiority her badge and uniform used to give her to make her feel like a big shot

>cop ratting out another cop for legally prescribed drugs that she went on after being wounded on the job
REALLY?

>I skipped season 3 after a few episodes
S3 is shit but you missed the only good character user.

That was retarded as fuck, she could sue the state and win.

If you are a cop and on painkillers, you have to let your supervisors know about it. That way if you get hurt, they can pull you off street detail ASAP and put you on a desk job, so that if you get injured they can cover their asses with regards to liability for being sued.

And Bassett's character wasn't just using them for her pain; she was clearly addicted to them and most likely scamming her doctor to keep getting them

A cop ratting on a cop is hard to believe.

A cop ratting on a cop for prescription drugs is harder to believe.

A cop ratting on a cop that got shot during a raid is impossible to believe.

She would have been seen as a hero cop for saving that kid from a madman with a shotgun.

>She would have been seen as a hero cop for saving that kid from a madman with a shotgun.

Not to mention she is black and a female.

>good intros with creepy imagery
>the actual show is some present day USA-drama bullshit with the occasional wtf moment or sudden ultraviolence

Coven was the most brazen example. The intro was GREAT. It was creepy as fuck with a bunch of imagery you weren't supposed to understand then you see the show taking place in a super clean fucking downtown new orlean mansion?

Shit it was still better than Hotel. I couldn't get past the first episode of that garbage

The cop who found the bottle was black and Bassett's character was a bit of an asshole.

She probably was an insufferably bully and power tripping bitch cop that other cops tend to hate (since they make the job harder for the good cops) and being caught by a black cop sealed her fate, since she couldn't play the race card to say she was framed

It was a bad decision because he looks fucking older than the husband doing the interview.

Watch crime and other doc shows that feature reenactors. 9 out of 10 times the reenactors look nothing like the people they are supposed to be playing

The one from the interviews is the guy from The Leftovers, right? He would have been better as the main guy.

IIRC he's actually the black doctor from The Knick

How many episodes do you think they'll release before people realize that the writers had no plan and are desperately trying to tie everything together?

It's usually by the 6th or 7th

uh oh. i just racismed

The coven op was creep as fuck, but at the same time was boner inducing.

This season is different from the rest.

For the first time, Ryan has stated they have a definitive beginning, middle, and end planned.

More so, even though the show has not been renewed for a seventh and eight season, Ryan has stated that season six is part one of an ambitious three season arc he has planned.

Seasons 6-8 are planned to be a three season long storyline and that season six will lay the groundwork for what is planned for seasons seven and eight in terms of backstory and callbacks.

Ryan has finally admitted that he is going all "grand unification theory" on the series, after seasons four and five started the ball rolling. But seasons 6-8 are supposed to be heavily linked mythology-wise in that they are planning shit out in advance, as opposed to working in cameos and fan service like seasons 4-5 did.

I don't believe him. Sounds like he's trying to save the show.

I don't get it. Is is the same house from covenant right? But that one wasn't in middle of nowhere.

what the fuck happened with season 4? I swear the start and the first episodes are pretty good but then they dump the only decent villain they ever had in favour of literally who's

Coven is way better than Freakshow, if only because Coven entertained the shit out of me all the way through and Freakshow had episodes I fell asleep during. I mean Freakshow had some good shit in it. It brought us the glory that is Finn Wittrock in these later seasons. But jesus christ was it boring.

Lily Rabe is the harbinger of good AHS though, best seasons, best character in Coven, best episodes in Freakshow and Hotel. I liked this premiere well enough. It was slow, but I think we shold expect this season to be toned down a little. At least when it comes to gore and shit, I'm sure it will still be campy, but this season started earlier in the year and only has ten episodes. Murphy's said something about how he's tired of having all that blood during/after Thanksigving or some shit.

My only gripe is that you know anyone in the interviews won't be killed off. Always ruins horror when you know who survives and who doesn't.

It was kind of confusing for the first 10 minutes or so, because I wasn't paying enough attention to realize they were different actors until the hospital scene.

>For the first time, Ryan has stated they have a definitive beginning, middle, and end planned.

>More so, even though the show has not been renewed for a seventh and eight season, Ryan has stated that season six is part one of an ambitious three season arc he has planned.

These two statements contradict each other

Speaking of, do you think we'll get an actual title sequence next episode? Half the joy of a new season of this show is seeing wtf crazy ass opening sequence it has.

Freakshow decided to kill off the best thing about the show four episodes in.

That skeleton demon from season 3 (?) is GOAT. Last season's was kind of shitty.

Ryan Murphy lies. A lot.

Rather, he has grand ambitions and always changes his mind partway through. He did this shit all the time with Glee.

I have no problem with it being toned down or slower paced, my issue is that it reeks of low effort. Shamelessly aping The Conjuring and Blair Witch do not impress me.

The only potentially cool stuff is the breathing ground in the woods, seems like there could be some neat Native American mythology in play. But its a show by Ryan Murphy so the last two episodes will shit the bed.

Yeah, that really didn't help. Especially because it took a while for Dandy to ramp up after Twisty died, keeping the character isolated in his mansion most of the time.

Why is this show always 12-13 episodes? it's clearly made for an 8 episode or 10 (max) format.
Look at season 1, by the time you reach episode 10 there is nothing else and the funny thing is that the same can be say about the rest of the seasons with 2 being an exception because it had so much stuff going on.

season 2 kind of shat the bed with everything about the demon and the one priest killing himself. Pretty lame stuff, but overall the best season.

I'm fairly certain this season is 10 episodes.

Only time can tell user. The curse of watching AHS is waiting for the inevitable downfall of a season, simultaneously hoping it will somehow be good throughout.

I feel like this premiere was a lot of laying groundwork and that's why it felt much slower. This season has a big-ass cast again and we've only spent time with like three or four of the people we knew would be in the season (I feel like they kept the lid on Lily Rabe being heavily involved, I kept checking to see if she'd be back and coming up with nothing) with very brief glimpses of Kathy Bates and serial killer dude from last year.

Whether you dig the re-enactment/true story format is your own thing, for sure, like if it appeals to you or lessens the tension or whatever. Personally I'm in the camp that they'll ditch the talking heads at some point and move forward with the real versions of these characters having spooky shit happen to them, but I wouldn't be surprised if he sticks with the re-enactment thing the whole way.

>What do you mean no one is going to be able to tell them apart?
