Ban frogpost thread creators. Or at least delete the threads. 90% of them are meme shit with no redeeming value made by r9k rejects or reddit tourists. Not even related to Sup Forums. The fact they can't even dredge up a single relevant image to post goes to show how low effort and worthless the threads are, for mediums that are literally visual arts.

Make a movies board. Sup Forums, even though it gets a lot of low quality drivel spam, has the traffic to merit the split regardless. Drive by shitpost memers will have less of an audience too. They'd be forced to divide their efforts between two boards, or one board would come out the better (probably the film board because it'd be the new board; a lot of people would stay in Sup Forums out of inertia).

/cel/ - maybe. It would be an excellent containment board. However I can see why an admin would never want to do that. Sup Forums was already the center of the fappening. If you create a designated board that's officially for discussing internet celebrities, you're basically guaranteeing some shit will happen at some point that embroils Sup Forums in a huge public scandal, as the board will allow the insane celebrity stalkers to congregate and reinforce each other's delusions. This is probably the only reason /cel/ doesn't already exist, Sup Forums doesn't want to be seen as tacitly endorsing whatever will inevitably happen there.

the real question is: do we want fast boards with a lof of shitpost and low quality discussion, or many slow boards with higher quality discussion?
We could just delete Sup Forums and replace it by /film/ /tele/ /cpsht/ and so on.
The only compromise is to keep on fast board for all topics like Sup Forums, Sup Forums, Sup Forums and so on and to add slower boards for more specific topics like /cpsht/ and so on. That would mean that capeshit could be discussed both on Sup Forums and /cpsht/ but not on /film/ etc.
The only problem with that is that it requires a larger moderation team and better moderation.

So we come back to the same problem: mods are shit, they have too much power and not enough sense.

As an active member of Eggkara and one who comes here for Channel Awesome threads, I know what happens. Most of the time the threads are really fun and none of the mods mind it. But one or two assholes get pissed off calls us shills (even thought we hate Doug's shit and just like to talk drama) and then reports the threads. I say if it is just one thread at a time it should be fine no matter if people report it for "not being tv".

Also why is linking to Eggkara such a bad thing? It's just a free stream site that anons from here go to.

I never would have said this a few years ago but I think the only way to fix Sup Forums is to make it a paying service.
Something cheap, like 3 bucks a month.
It would make it possible to recruit a good moderation team, allow for improvements such as user feedback through dedicated forms, and so on.
I would gladly even pay 10 bucks a month for a better Sup Forums. The problem is if it's too expensive 3rd worlders won't be able to come anymore and I think they bring a nice addition to the site, like on Sup Forums and Sup Forums.

I feel like it wouldn't be a slow board. It'd just go back to the activity of Sup Forums a few years ago. That was the sweet spot of activity for me. Since activity would probably be split somewhat down the middle, I think it could really work out.
