Great Annihilator is good so far
I dont get it at all
Fucking fag
The pinnacle of Swanskino.
Swans stories:
>Decide to try Swans
>Use a random thing picker to choose my intro (i hadn't seen any flowcharts)
>I get To Be Kind
>See the length
>What the fuck
>Put extra time aside to listen to it
>Grabbed immediately from the beginning of Screen Shot onwards
>FUCK FUCK FUCK YOUR NAME IS FUCK
>Oxygen is overrated tho
>Adore the album
>Listen to The Seer
>Hate it
>Find The Seer (track) to be like walking through mud, hate it the most except for maybe 93 St Ave Blues, especially compared to Bring The Sun/Toussaint L'Ouverture
>Ask Sup Forums if it will grow on me, crazyaga replies that it might and recommends The Glowing Man and SFTB when I'm ready
>Listen to TGM, its aight, really like the title track, Frankie M and Finally, Peace
>I think I'm ready
>I clear up an extra 20 minutes for SFTB
>Listen to it, expecting a TMR-kind of album
>Immediately love it from the start of Red Velvet Corridor
>tfw I finally get why everyone loves Helpless Child
>Second disc is worse, with shit like Hypogirl, but also good shit luke The Sound
>Give The Seer a relisten after listening to A Piece Of The Sky and Apostate on the way to work
>Fucking love it, it feels so much shorter
>tfw The Seer (track) clicks
>I SEE IT ALL I SEE IT ALL
>God-tier shit
>Listen to SFTB on a plane journey
>Love it even more
>Going to give TBK a relisten on the plane back
>I love Swans
>Somewhere along the line before that, also listen to Filth and My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky
>Meh
>still haven't heard The Great Annihilator which everyone says is the best intro
>or Children of God or White Light
>or any of the live albums
Which one should I listen to next? I'm thinking Swans are Dead when I have time and White Light when I only have time for a sensible length album.
And yes, The Seer will grow on you.
Cool story, glad you got into them so easily.
I'd say go for great annhiliator if you prefer late era swans. But don't throw Filth away for good. Its one of their most cathy yet brutal records.
Yeah man. I marathoned it yesterday but it sure takes an effort
That's what your mom said
Yeah to be fair reunion Swans was terrible.
user the next step on your Swans-journey should be to
>FLEX YOUR MUSCLEEEEES
>emotional wreck
>stay inside my room all summer
>decide to try Swans
>find A Long Slow Screw on youtube
>finally found the soundtrack to my living torment
All you people who need some sort of easy entry point, why?
