What age did you grow out of metal, user?
What age did you grow out of metal, user?
never
Used to listen to pretty much only metal until I was 18 or so. Now I listen to a bit of every thing. Still listen to metal and go to shows when I'm in the mood.
If you haven't "outgrown" metal by 19, you aren't gunna outgrow it.
>inb4 "I was into metal until I started listening to boring mainstream hiphop in college and became a boring person in general"
16 thankfully
you never grow out of metal

closest I ever ever got was alt rock. then lost that and became a normal member of society.
zero
Sweet caress grazes my skin
It's loveless, these hooks sink in
Behind an angel's disguise, an insect preys
Mandibles cut like a knife, the reckoning
Forming clouds, their shadow shrouds
Louder the tattered wings they sound
Descending down
Down they come, the swarm of locusts
Skies above converge to choke us
Feast of souls consume the harvest
Young and old, suffer unto the locust
I grew onto different things but sometimes there's just nothing that beats a little Sabbath or Meshuggah. You simply can't categorize good music by genre alone, you gotta sift them out. There are peanuts in every turd
Very good question dear sir user. For me it was 18 years old. I still like it for a few songs, but for seriously good music one has to turn to classical and jazz music.

You'll grow out of that too and start listening to most genres hopefully
You're what they call a poser faggot.
32. still listening.
If you grew out of metal, you were never anything but a poser anyway.
I never liked it. I always thought it was stupid. I like to listen to music to relax
35. Can't hear much anymore. Gotta turn it up real loud.
Dunno yet. Gonna be 44 and still listen to metal
20 still listen, still my favorite genre of music but doesn't mean i don't like other genre, if it sounds good, its good
I have. I really enjoy glam rock/metal and 80s/90s guilty pleasure songs. But I would never claim that all the music I like is sophisticated or "good".
What's wrong with metal?
Good metal has tons of musical intracacies and nuances that you can't find anywhere else.
It's the same for people who hate jazz. They just haven't taken the time to really explore and understand what's going on in order to appreciate it.
