What do you guys use for your P2P/torrent client?

What do you guys use for your P2P/torrent client?

I used to use uTorrent but it took a turn for the worse a long time ago. Is BitTorrent any good? HaLite has been recommended in a past thread.

Post yours and tell me why you use it!

Deluge is good. Had no problem up to know.
uTorrent and BitTorrent is a virus in itself now

Yeah uTorrent was getting so many "features" by the time I stopped I gave up on it. How come you use deluge? Is it open source?

Porn webms for thanks

ktorrent.

set up download directory.
done.

Currently learning the basics of Linux user. Working with Kali for pentesting but is there another build you'd recommend to get started on (ubuntu, etc)?

...

I used Ares Galaxy alot back in the day

...

mint. easiest distro ever for usability. looks nice. little to no maintenance. run updates once a month or so. install adblock plus and noscript into the default firefox install and you're set.

for penetration testing, kali.
for data recovery/forensice, CAINE.

So I'm gonna independently research each of these but is there anything that stands out about Ares Galaxy?

I'm specifically looking for a lightweight, opensource, feature rich client.

forensics. sorry.

tianxi if you want to keep windows.
open source.
light weight.
easy to use.
no ads.

Taking note of Mint, I'll get it set up on a VM later.

I'll also write CAINE down but I don't want to throw too much info at myself at once, I'd like to master the console before doing anything atm lol.

Vuze. Lots of options.

Really as long as I can schedule downloads and limit my upload rates I'll be good lol. Gonna add that to the list to look up

helpful recommendations so far anons keep it up

I think I remember both of these clients taking the same direction as uTorrent with an overload of features and addons and crap.

Am I remembering wrong?

Bump

I turn off all the unnecessary shit. The media player and streaming server and the rest of the crap. With that off it works well and is very tweak-able for your particular environment.

I use qbitorrent good enough.

Saved. Thanks, user.

qbittorrent
No ads, auto stop torrents when they finish downloading

Oh I got more for you homie

...

...

Is it open source? It's pretty important to me

My fucking god!!

Honestly trying to avoid extraneous crap altogether but thanks for the recommendation user

Source is Goddess Zoey

Frenchfag here, Torrent/NZB client native in the set-top-box of mah ISP.

...

interface is relatively simple, no ads either, all im really looking for in a torrent client

Nothing wrong with utorrent 2.2.1, just download that and disable software updates.

Kazaa and limewire are the only way to go

qBittorrent works well.

There seems to be much better options, they lost me a long time ago

...

...

...

And it only takes a day to download 2 mb . Check those dubs

this.

Tixati. Hasn't failed me so far.

So far these have been recommended for anyone just joining the thread:

Deluge
KTorrent Linux
Ares Galaxy
Vuze
QBittorrent
Tianxi
Tixati (fuck that samefag I'm not researching this one)

I'll have you know Junior those were the only ways to get that stuff back in those days

Not samefag but I use Tixati when I do P2P.
Pretty nice

One more for KTorrent. Comes with KDE, downloads torrents and magnets easily. I don't want anything else from a torrent client, though I guess it does a bunch of other stuff too. Although primarily for Linux, I believe it's available for all platforms

Yeah I'm taking note of it for when I'm more familiar with Linux. Just began that adventure a day or two ago though

Listen grandpa, I was downloading shit when you had to find FTP servers on BBS's. And then most of them had ratios. You had to upload one file and you could download 10 files. Shit like that. Over 14.4 Kbs.

I think tixati is pretty good too

...

It's nice to see someone who remembers that shit. Wait 15 minutes to see a titty

All you're doing is making everybody hate your shitty client.

If the connection didn't drop and you had to start over.

Yeah, it is. I use it.

I was only one of those (you)s and I've never used , just thought it'd be funny

Yeah your correct. They also had almost every file imaginable

am i the only one who uses utorrent

Looks like it

I remember this one time I was still living at home and used one of those numbers to dual out using some Russian number. The porn was vanilla and I was only on for about 20 minutes but the phone bill was over 1000 bucks because of that. I got in a lot of trouble for that one

Bump

qBittorrent

Reminds me of old utorrent before BitTorrent bought them.

Getting a lot of recommendations for this, it'd be nice to get something like what I used to use

For anyone joining now these are the ones so far that are open source without too much extraneous crap:

QBittorrent
Tianxi
HaLite

Those were some fucked up times. And the happiness you got when you downloaded some 600 px crotch shot.
