I wanna play Rugby Leauge next year, I'm 6'0" 75 kg but I'm unfit and skinnyfat as fuck.
Basically have no muscle and I'm not good at cardio.
What should I do this year to get ready?
I guess training wouldn't differ too much from Grid Iron training.

This. Focus on eating protein in every meal and eat a can of tuna after dinner (around 10pm) on heavy training days to ensure you get enough easy protein.

Focus on heavy lifting movements (squats, deadlifts, clean and jerk) and you can't go wrong

invest this year into learning the rules. they are complicated af

If you've never played before i suggest playing TRL.
Also start binge drinking and doing copious amounts of dingers and bags cos that's all your going to be doing in 3rd grade mate

Play literally any other sport you're gonna be made a mockery of and have all your passion for the sport killed anyway, may as well quit now

Just start playing now and attend every training your cardio will increase pretty quickly once you get into that routine. Then do some weight training in the off season if you want. Don't need to go overboard on this shit with a fucking Batman Begins year of training.

Keep it simple, go to gym, read /fit sticky and pick a workout, start running, or even better, do progressive Walk/Jog/Run/Sprint, that should give you the Strength/Speed, if you want, do zig-zags or ladder work to help the mobility, and i hugely suggest you to train specific sport-related skills.
A mistake i did was jumping into a sport without the needed skills, and that affected my mentality, dragging my performance down. Join in when you feel ready.
