Vanilla Ice performed with NWA, Public Enemy, the DOC and Tone loc
He a real nigga

I always liked this white boi

Where did the Vanilla ice was the worst rapper of all time come from?

His music was pop and cheezy but he is like Beethoven when you compare him to what passes as rap music these days.

It came from eminem

It's because he's white and easy to make fun of because of it

Offspring too?

It seems in the early 2000's making jokes about vanilla ice was the cool thing to do.

But the beastie boys didn't get made fun of as much as him.

There were other artists making cheezy pop rap such as Salt N Peppa and Fresh Prince but they were never made fun of as much as Vanilla ice.

No, it's from the beef with eminem. Offspring just namedroped him in a song.

What I mean is he wasn't very good and was white. Beastie Boys were good, as was Eminem. It's what separates him from MC Hammer, essentially.

It's almost as if a specific group of people is in control of the media and decided to back beastie boys.

Must have been the rastafarians

Haile Selassie owns you

McHammer made cheezy super pop songs too.

He became a meme and other people that made the same kind of music that was cheezy were left alone.

Anyone notice how vanilla ice's style is actually similar to what you see now? Funny how /fa/ goes in circles.

Yeah exactly. MC Hammers, Salt N Pepa, etc. were all cheesy, slightly naff pop rap but they don't get ridiculed as much because they're black

His music is at least better than mumble rap.

I think mumble rap is going to be remembered in the saw way we remember mc hammer.

It always perplexed me how square his head was

Almost, but not quite

He looks of German decent now that I look at him.

Vanilla was still an exotic in hip hop and not Jewish, he was a scapegoat, nothing against Jews but if Jews are scrutinized it could be misinterpreted as antisemitic. Yea I fell bad, he didn't deserve it, Shug knight tried to get him killed too must like Tupac, and made him sign the rights or royalties or some shit saying he didn't write ice ice baby

*just like tupac

I'm pretty sure he did write that song and though.

I think he produced himself too on a small budget.

He didn't even have a decent graffiti writer in his video clip.

Shug Knight finally in jail now. RIP

After I typed this I looked him up and turns out he is Dutch.

Same region which explains his German looking appearance.

...

I am a flesh and muscle coloured skeleton with a brain.

...

em was actually a vanilla ice fan back in the day

youtube.com/watch?v=p5b3_aS-Wy8

watch this, shug knight was a monster, definiteness needs to be rehabilitated

>yfw van winkle gets pissed when the guy asks if its his song

So how'd they start beefing

shug knight was a psychopath man, lord have mercy

What a filthy animal. Can't wait until this police state kicks in.

I believe vanilla ice on this.

Was xzibit referencing this incident in his song where he says "Dangle him off the balcony and let his punk ass go look out below" in the song front 2 back?

proabably not, xzibit is not a scumbag, i believe its van winkles song, its just funny when its brought up and hes like NO WAY

if this came out today it would be "race, race, riot"

I guess time spares no one.

why the fuck is there a link to a jim carrey news story

>xzibit is not a scumbag
Isn't he?

oh FUCK my bad lol heres the proper link

I love how the thread just moved on because no one bothered to check the link

everyone already knew vanilla ice knew these people anyway.

lol everyone here is fried
i dont think so dood, its all perspective, ppl talk shit about the boy ice back in the day cuz they wuz jealous

Thanks for the (you)s

duuuubs

salt n pepa + fresh prince were actually good MCs and were both well regarded within hip hop for a couple of years before they started getting in the charts
vanilla ice came out of nowhere and went straight to number one, so a lot of people just saw him as a pop artist

Duuuubs, ice was a legend in his own right
