Why does the US keep trying to prop up American manufacturing?

In the globalised economy, Americans can't outcompete foreign labour. Workers from China, Southeast Asia, Latin America can do the same job for less. Every day it gets easier to deal with the hurdles of outsourcing abroad.

For 40 years now yanks have been putting it off. I don't have sympathy anymore. The writing is on the wall. Joe the loyal factory worker who just got laid off after he busted his ass for 12 years and has a wife and two kids should have had a bit more foresight 15 years ago.

Time to face the problem head on. Diversify or die. Quit trying to compete with third-world unskilled labour by punishing American companies who outsource. Instead, let them outsource so that they can compete.

When these businesses flourish in the global market by lowering labour costs, tax them at a higher rate. Chad the business owner doesn't complain about his 10% higher tax bracket because he's saving so much not being punished by outsourcing. Use that new tax revenue and put it right back into American infrastructure. Make American cities nice again. Roads, libraries, schools, airports. Fucking actually Make America Great Again. rather than just trying to stop the inevitable of American Going To Shit.

All those laid-off factory workers get government jobs building kick ass infrastructure. With the best schools, fastest internet, libraries, etc., you create a more skilled labour force. Let poors slave away in their third-world shitholes making cars and tee shirts. That's not the quality of life we want for an American worker anyway. When foreign CEOs want to plan strategy, they come to Americans, and they pay top dollar. Sucks that Joe lost his $17/hour job but Joe got re-hired a year later by the US govt at the same rate and helped rebuild his town's infrastructure and now Joe Jr., with his kickass childhood and education is making $117 consulting for Sven's new tech startup.

>not being a nationalist and forming good, balanced working conditions for factory workers all over the world

Found the Jew.

And who will buy all the shitty Walmart textiles when no one in America has a full time job?

Fuck off nigger faggot

The same reason whites still live in SA: Because they used to be there and some people still want them there, even though the whole rest of the world doesn't give a fuck or wants them gone.

>good, balanced working conditions for factory workers all over the world

fuck off communist scum. in capitalism supply and demand determine price. and with a billion chinese who will work for $1.25, nobody wants to pay old joe his $17 anymore.

>All those laid-off factory workers get government jobs building kick ass infrastructure.
>get government jobs
>government jobs

Kill yourself

>no one in America has a full time job?

They will have jobs. Instead of making shitty textiles, the blue collar workers will be doing construction. Putting down fibre internet and building better cities. And in a generation you won't have so many blue collar workers because the average American will be so goddamned skilled he'll be getting headhunted for STEM positions in the US and across the world.

South Africa is beautiful and in the right places the blacks (aka cheap labour) are an asset and not a hindrance.

There is nothing good about slaving away in a factory making shitty plastic toys. Let them pollute China.

You're literally one of the best examples of what I'm talking about. HK is miles nicer than the shithole to the north. While those cucks are spinning yarn 14 hours a day, you gooks are running financial markets. Your GDP per capita is way higher and your country is a hell of a lot nicer.

Hong Kong is a total shithole dude. Its only the way it is because of British colonialism. Saying its nice compared to China isn't saying much. I'm English, by the way.

Agree it sucks but look north to see how fucking terrible it really could be.

British colonialism brought business culture. That business culture brought skilled labourers. Skilled labourers with high wages make HK a much nicer place to live than the PRC.

If the US had more skilled labourers with higher wages it would be a nicer place to live.

Or tariff the imports of 3rd world countries that use 11 year olds in their workforce.

Construction is good in the short term, but these projects are going to be finished sometime.

Then how do you stop the unemployed, under-educated worker from revolting?

Wonder who could be behind this post?

why would i care about some third world 11 year old? if he doesn't make my tee shirts mom will just find him a shittier job somewhere else.

Even public buildings deteriorate, senpai.

And when your populace gets more competitive across the globe you don't have so many blue collar guys looking for low-skilled work. They rise up the global ladder third world shitholes with no skilled workers (cause they were making tee shirts instead of going to top notch schools) outsource and hire skilled yanks.

thought that was you frank
yeah nah we need to keep our capital and our industrial capacity here
so when the next big one comes
we wont be completely fucked by our own greed and lack of foresight

rather than make 8 year old tier meme jokes, why don't you engage the argument?

>yeah nah we need to keep our capital and our industrial capacity here
>so when the next big one comes
>we wont be completely fucked by our own greed and lack of foresight

>happening in 40 years
>no american factories
>ohshit.jpg
>americans so fucking rich and smart though
>pay yellow/brown factory managers 3x what they were getting in their rathole
>they bring their awesome factory technology to the usa
>we make it even better cause we're all so fucking smart
>manufacture whatever plane or bomb or dyke we need

checkmate.

People like you are content with flipping burgers and making spreadsheets.

It's simple, work smarter; not harder.

You can hire a fuckload of chinks, put them in dormatories with suicide nets, and have them solder all day. Or you could hire a couple of qualified people to run a machine that places the components for you.

Pic related. Usa thrives on job shop production. Smith and weson has 200 the same japanese cnc lathes churning out parts day an night.

>Sucks that Joe lost his $17/hour job but Joe got re-hired a year later by the US govt at the same rate and helped rebuild his town's infrastructure and now Joe Jr., with his kickass childhood and education is making $117 consulting for Sven's new tech startup.
>things that never happen: the post
I don't know about SA, but that's not happening in Europe and I don't think it's happening in the US either

>qualified people
>qualified people
>qualified people

Where did I say you should hire an unskilled third-world moron to do something complex like run complicated machinery?

That's exactly the sort of thing I want to train more yanks to be qualified to do.

because once something is built in china the proprietary technology enters a world where it's not protected.

it's great to save 10% on manufacturing if your a share holder that can sell soon, but in the long run it's going to be bad for all of us.

yep
you are so right
have absolutely nothing but skeleton crew at the outbreak of war
culturally enrich your workforce with foreigners of unvetted background and tenuous loyalty
design shit from the ground up (whats taking so long?)
checkmate
enjoy getting your shit pushed in
