After reading the whole thing, I don't think he has a case. Employers won't pay you your vacation days if you don't work the two weeks upon resigning. And she said they haven't given him his last pay check yet because a lot of employers are weeks behind so he may get it in the mail. If the company has a zero tolerance policy then it was written in their handbook which he should have read. Another victim of right to work laws. Why can't they be expected to read something that contains valuable information about their employers expectations and benefits? That's like saying you can't be expected to read a contract before signing it. Sure, it doesn't have as much legal ground to stand on, but if it says he will only get paid vacation if he isn't fired then he has no chance of seeing that money or suing for it. He doesn't have to memorize it but he could have at least skimmed that part, vacation is important and a lot of companies do it differently
