Can someone explain hardcore to me? It seems unlistenable. And it's held in such high regard by some decent musicians

Appreciate this. I'll listen to all. Partway though the first one. Still don't get it, but I'll keep plugging away
this sums it up
Start drinking cheap beer and thinking about things in your life that piss you off.
Continue until it clicks.

>Never seen descendents live
is this a parody of the average Sup Forumsdrone who knows nothing about hardcore except the handful of classics that occasionally get mentioned by their leaders p4k and fantano?
No.
This is the opinion of somebody who lived in New York in the 1980s and saw the hardcore scene go to shit both musically and socially with their own eyes! Where were you on Sunday afternoons?
What were you doing with your life back then?
Uh huh. I thought as much!
These are great, every good punk band has large injections of metal in their sound.
???
>ny
>its the whole hardcore scene
Original "Punk rock" is garbage. It only became good after it branched off into its 1000 derivatives. Hardcore is not one of the derivatives that is good
kill yourself art fag
By the way guy do you have a list of crust bands to recommend as well? Much appreciated.
>he roleplays when he can't defend an argument

That's a few that made me love it.
I love "true" hardcore, but I'm not a massive fan of the whole beatdown shit... I prefer more hardcore punk and frantic hardcore.
Its for that sweet indie cred, you're "supposed" to like it
This is a fucking horrible opinion.
Hardcore was a return to punk rock roots after normies had fagged up punk by turning it into goth and new romantics.
tfw no punk bf to complain about classic rock with
you are so fucking obsessed with how other people view you and its very evident
Japanese hardcore dump.

either that or he's old as fuck using exclamation marks on Sup Forums
>stomping on immigrants and groping girls
Not sure how they thought this makes sense since people who would stomp on immigrants are claiming immigrants are groping girls.
I saw Flag play last year and they were explosive and so was the crowd, it was incredible.
I've noticed trendier metal kids refer to "hardcore" as a new genre or flavor of the "-core" metal bands springing up and isn't the same as "hardcore punk", although it is refered to as "hardcore" because it takes inspiration from hardcore punk when it applies the relentless grindcore formula of non-stop drumming and no room for phrasing, riffs, or tactful vocal placement.
Modern metal ruins everything, hardcore no longer exclusively refers to punk music and is now uncomfortably grandfathered and flavor metalcore.
I saw it with my own eyes and ears.
You might not like my opinion, but then again, it's MY opinion.
Agnostic Front, Warzone, and bands like that couldn't even hold a candle to bands like Minor Threat or 7 Seconds!
Once again..........
