If you like free jazz, Brotzmann/Leigh - Sex Tape is my fave jazz LP of the year.

(You)

Not him but I also enjoyed that album a lot, but have you checked out Brotzmann's other releases this year like pic related? I much preferred them.

you're welcome

I need to start listening to new music

did you like pic related though?

Loved their first album

thats just too bad

This

I don't know why, but they've always been quite discreet, even among the genre aficionados
they don't do much gigs or anything outside of UK/Ireland (I saw them at Yellowstock some years ago and never heard of them coming again in the area)

not really my thing (or, to be more precise, Brotzmann's not my thing, I like me some free jazz from time to time, but witout without brass or wind instruments)

Who is this semen demon

It's me, OP.

>Catposter not shitposting

Lmaoing @ ur life rn

Xiu Xiu is my favorite this year. All of these in my pic I would rate above a 7.

Whats everybody looking forward too? Can't wait for Cloakroom, LCD Soundsystem and The World is a Beautiful Place. Hoping for another Death Grips release this year.

There's a ton I'm looking forward to:
Alex Cameron - Forced Witness (9/8)
Antibalas - Where The Gods Are In Peace (9/15)
Ariel Pink - Dedicated to Bobby Jameson (9/15)
Ben Frost - The Centre Cannot Hold (9/29)
Bully - Losing (10/20)
Circuit Des Yeux - Reaching For Indigo (10/20)
Deerhoof - Mountain Moves (9/8)
Destroyer - ken (10/20)
Filthy Friends - Invitation (8/25)
Godspeed! You Black Emperor - Luciferian Towers (9/22)
Grizzly Bear - Painted Ruins (8/18)
Hundred Waters - Communicating (9/14)
Kamasi Washington - Harmony of Difference (9/29)
LCD Soundsystem - American Dream (9/1)
Liars - Theme From Crying Fountain (8/25)
Linda Perhacs - I’m A Harmony (9/22)
Metz - Strange Peace (9/22)
Mister Heavenly - Boxing The Moonlight (10/6)
The National - Sleep Well Beast (9/8)
Protomartyr - Relatives In Descent (9/29)
Sannhet - So Numb (8/25)
Tera Melos - Trash Generator (8/25)
The War on Drugs - A Deeper Understanding (8/25)

Ah shit, thanks for that list. I'm not good with keeping up with whats coming out. Ariel Pink leaked and it's wonderful. I liked that new Protomartyr single a lot. Also, I'm hoping John Maus drops a 2017 date for his next record.

These. Ignore that stuff that's already leaked (except Villains, not going to bother rating that until it gets a proper leak or it releases; whichever comes first).

I saw Protomartyr live earlier this year and they played a few other new songs that all sounded as great as the single. I'm seeing seeing them with John Maus next month and I'm really hoping to hear more new music from both

Orc is so good, I wasn't expecting it but it'll probably end up being one of my favorites of the year.
There are a few artists I'm unfamiliar with here, definitely going to have to check them out

>has white skin and light hair
>she must fuck niggers

Your blatant insecurity is radiating through my monitor.

>imagine being this influenced by blacked porn

...

Kind of struggling to find even a top 3 "great" releases this year.

What is a "coalburner"?

This year has been absolutely stacked with great releases. Either you're not looking hard enough or you're being needlessly harsh.

Anyone have a link for the new Forest Swords?

I found this to be extremely underrated.

My favorite so far.

literally who

Anyone have links for Arca, Offa Rex, Jlin, or Algiers?

what are your top releases for this year? I haven't listened to many 2017 albums cause I've been doing some deep dives into city-pop

Here: A lot of the charts and albums ITT are really good, though, from the one's I've heard.

When the beat drops in Fade pt 2.

only 10/10 part of the album, the rest is a solid 7 2bh

Kairon/IRSE! - Ruination is pretty decent, if you are into prog rock

Nevermind, I found Jlin. Anyone have the others? Especially Offa Rex...

Cigs after Sex was a pretty good album

Is dat some moose :3

ursa minor and forget are my favorites this year as well. love seeing nana grizol appreciation here :,)

Oh shit Ben Frost is releasing another?

I know The Wasp Factory was divisive but I liked it a lot; still excited to see we're getting more so quickly.

2017 hasn't impressed me very much, only half of these i really like, most are just okay.

wait what
is there any relation to this Broadcast

Top three 2017:
Contact
Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star
Thin Black Duke

Everything else this year is 2.5* or below

Probably not. It's a bandcamp release. Pretty great, though.
