zeitkratzer - Körper Kooperationen I & II (2002) [FLAC] >contemporary, avant-garde, unofficial live recording >new music ensemble plays works by Terre Thaemlitz, Carsten Nicolai, Philip Glass, James Tenney, La Monte Young, Zbigniew Karkowski, and Merzbow
UFO - UFO 2: Flying (1971) (320) >Space rock, prog rock, acid rock, jam band Five rock tracks that alternate between funky jamming and spacey ambient interludes, including one 19 minute one 26 minute. All three musicians are fully in tune with each other, the bass being particularly fun to follow. But Mick Bolton's guitar is the driving and soaring force here, taking the listener to the stars.
requesting Sebadoh - The Freed Man, preferably the 1989 32 track version

The Deviants >Psychedelic Rock, Garage Rock, Proto-Punk >In the late '60s, the Deviants were something like the British equivalent to the Fugs, with touches of the Mothers of Invention and the British R&B-based rock of the Yardbirds and the Pretty Things. Their roots were not so much in the British Invasion as the psychedelic underground that began to take shape in London in 1966-1967. Not much more than amateurs when they began playing, they squeezed every last ounce of skill and imagination out of their limited instrumental and compositional resources on their debut, Ptooff!, which combined savage social commentary, overheated sexual lust, psychedelic jamming, blues riffs, and pretty acoustic ballads -- all in the space of seven songs.
Ptooofff! (1967) Disposable (1968) The Deviants (1969)
The Fugs - The Village Fugs Sing Ballads of Contemporary Protest, Point of Views, and General Dissatisfaction [aka First Album] (1965) >Folk Rock, Psychedelic, Garage, Beat Poetry I think The Fugs have to be one of the most under-appreciated groups of the 60s - most people know their name and some of their songs but nobody knows their influence. They must have been the first DIY rock group going - at their early shows they played whatever they could get their hands on, like whacking a cardboard box with a brush for percussion. This isn't an album you put on when you want to hear music. This is for those occasions when you want to laugh and cry simultaneously at the wonder and utter absurdity of the world. I can't believe that something this profane and hilarious came out way back in 1965. It even predates Zappa.
13th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere (1967) >Psychedelic Rock,Heavy Psych,Acid Rock This is the rare mono version and it sounds way better in my opinion
Chrisma - Chinese Restaurant (1977) >synthpunk, italo
The duo's first offering is a bit more primitive that the rest of their output. It's also a modicum more sleazy, a smidge more trashy, a pinch more tacky, a touch more frowzy, and a smattering more chintzy. Highly recommended!
