Greatest rock trilogy of all time?

Yes Album - Fragile - Close to the Edge

The Inmost Light trilogy?

BIABH - HIghway 61 - BOB

Dylan electric trilogy

This is a really good one.

I would say Tilt, The Drift, and Bish Bosch is one of the best album trilogies of all time, whether or not you could even classify them as "rock" albums.

...

good choice.

Not sure what constitutes a "rock trilogy", but
>Duster's 3 LPs
>Can's primary Damo triptych
>Cosmic Jokers trilogy

Seems like electronic artists tend to have more discernible trilogies

>quadrilogy

makes me very happy to find Scott Walker fans here

The Bends - OK Computer - Kid A
or
OK Computer - Kid A - Amnesiac

Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations

Good choice

If it counts - Spirit of Eden - Laughing Stock - Mark Hollis

I love you

I love you too

Yep.

This.

Asia
Alpha
Astra

more like sextology

Pink Flag
Chairs Missing
154

Surprised it wasn't mentioned already.

the Seer was the only great one. The next two are the same bullshit

kek get out dad

The Cure trilogy

Pornography
Disintegration
Bloodflowers

this and also

Beach Boys Party!
Pet Sounds
The Smile Sessions (fuck you, it was next)

fuck yeah, dude.
Smiley Smile's really good too, though, so even if you don't have The Smile Sessions there, it's still a damn good trilogy.

More like Seventeen Seconds, Faith and Pornography

every single talk talk album says hello

OK Computer
Kid A
Amnesiac

this, never mind what robert says about his idea of a trilogy

A lot of people will call it jazz, but Miles' dark voodoo funk trilogy of Agharta/Pangaea/Dark Magus deserves mention here.

Also, somebody already mentioned it, but I will second the Can trilogy of Tago Mago/Ege Bamyasi/Future Days.

Ride The Skies
Wonserful Rainbow
Hypermagic Mountain

I also like to listen to them in one sitting. I mean all 3 of them.

very few people realize that this is actually a triple album

...

youve gotta be fucking kidding i just made a quick 3 album thing on topster and the kid A cover fucking loaded during the save

Buckingham Nicks - Fleetwood Mac - Rumors

my nigga

kek

Even if it doesn't count, the colour of spring to laughing stock is an incredible trilogy as it expresses their progression clearly with three stylistically different but excellent albums

Three 10/10 albums to be honest. Bloodflowers is so underrated it's actually insane. It's literally fucking crazy. It blows my mind how underrated it is.

Excellent pick. You could choose any three albums from Springsteen's catalogue from tunnel of love and before and be valid, tho you happened to choose the actually correct one.

Came here to post CoS - Spirit of Eden - Laughing Stock

>Implying
Kid A-Amnesiac-HTTT-IR
Its a auadrilogy buddy

>the dark side of the moon-wish you were here-animals

>not including Meddle for the Fantastic Four

...

DJ BOBBY D
Bob Dylan was a hack

>not Live at Leeds, Who's Next, Quadrophenia
Come on. The Live at Leeds version of Tommy is the superior one, and there's that 15 minute version of My Generation.

obscured by clouds is between the two though

Script of the Bridge
What Does Anything Mean Basically
Strange Times

Excellent post

Bends, OKC, KIDA /thread

Ok Computer is 6

lel

6 what

I always forget it due to being a soundtrack.

6 elephants?

The correct pick coming through

>trilogy
>leave this shit to me

Not rock but who cares, real good set of three albums

>trilogy
i thought a trilogy should have some type of coherence between releases, or follow an arch
not just throw in 3 consecutive albums from your favorite band
fug

*blocks everyone's paths*

Not even the best Swans trilogy (Greed - Holy Money - Children of God)

...

Can, then Darkthrone

load reload st anger

...

Look on the bright side you got dubs twice

...

Im a big swans fan but the glowing man was a let down

I'm younger than the amount of time it took for this trilogy to be made.
How fucked up is that?

Yeah, it's a bit of a slow-burner. Not as explosive as To Be King, but not as expansive and huge as The Seer.
Still pretty enjoyable, but I would've preferred To Be Kind as the finale, and The Glowing Man as the first entry in the trilogy.

Marilyn Manson

Antichrist Superstar
Mechanical Animals
Holy Wood

Best rock triptych ever created. Reverse chronological order storytelling, dense, complex characters, clever allegories and comparisons, there's even a little bit of future prediction in there.

This.

>Pleb Floyd

Larks Tongues', SaBB, and Red

Beats pretty much every other trilogy here

$3 - Significant Other - Chocolate Starfish

this

Black Sabbath
Paranoid
Master of reality

I had never heard of Cosmic Jokers before seeing this post, but I'm a huge fan of Can with Damo, and have enjoyed what I've heard from Duster.

Thanks for the rec.

>the mollusk-white pepper-quebec
I always figured it was C&C-12GCG-The Mollusk.

Ramones - Leave Home - Rocket To Russia

>Mr Bungle
>Disco Volante
>California

All awful suggestions itt.

>boring post rock
>shit attempt at krautrock
>boring pop music with just cool harmonic bits that's it
>gimmick trash
>pretentious garbage
>trying to be artistic while still stuck to basic bitch pop concepts
>pop wank, psychedelic edition
>as if folk music can ever be musically interesting
>pop wank, jazz edition
>watering down the masterworks of the decade prior
>pop wank, rock edition
>literally who
>as if shitty voice and straightforward playing makes good music just cuz muh lyrics
>look at me my music has fart samples I am so le deep!
>boring hard rock, grandpa edition
>lets ripoff Beatles, Eno, and Pink Floyd so everyone can call us geniuses for being original
>boring hard rock, dad edition
>cheesy new age garbage
>boring hard rock, virgin edition
>neckbeard nu male shit
>classic indie pretentious garbage rock
>romanticizing being a whiny bitch music
>only thing needed to be considered good is hiring a ton of musicians
>pop wank, sharknado edition
>picks fusionshit instead of the good stuff
>implying anyone cares about LB
>hickster muzaq
>contemporary indie pretentious garbage rock

then post yours or get out. if you just want to complain, call your mom.

The Glowing Man is problably my favorite Swans album.
