I'm confused, why is against her religion to serve alcohol? The Koran merely states the muslims shouldn't DRINK alcohol, not that they can't own it or sell it or serve it. Several high-profile muslims have had liquor as collector's items.

Too bad if Norway is in any way similar to other (EU) Nordics it is the airline's right as employer to fire someone who refuses to do their job based on private religious views. Unless she was given the right to refuse assignments going against her faith in her contract she WILL lose.

It really isn't. Both employers and employee have very narrow and limited rights to refuse based on their views. In this case the Muslim in question should have checked her facts before signing as faith is a private matter, not obligation of the employer.

Not really, before she took that job with the airline, they were already serving alcohol. Different from if she was working her job and they decided later on to serve alcohol.

This is stupid. Only happens in there heavily Muslim only areas. One of the guys who used to work at my local, Roger, was a Muslim, and he didn't give a shit. He didn't only serve soft drinks to people who were driving either, his job included having to measure and serve alcohol so he did. He never ever drunk it though. That being said, I went to see one of my old friends from school who lives in birmingham (where there are loads of Muslims) and we went to mcdonalds on the way to the station (I was going home) in the morning after I stayed over, she got some bacon and egg roll thing and told me that her ex-boyfriend, a Muslim, shouted at her in mcdonalds for even daring to order a product with bacon in it, but would go out clubbing with his mates every weekend. Granted, she only told me because she knows how fucking much I despise Muslims, but they become rude and domineering when they monopolise an area.

It appears that most authorities agree it is not only haram for her to serve alcohol, it was also haram for her to accept her current job in the first place. I have yet to find even a single mention of any disagreement, which is in my experience unusual. The best argument I could piece together would require that we believe she literally had to choose between that particular job and starving. Anyone know who her Imam is?
