I haven't seen a good album come from this kind of tags.

>it can be classified as a genre, any genre at all, except sui generis

I just call it shit

Intro too long

>cool as fuck intro stops and the song becomes another middle of the road pop track

"Played with national and regional acts, such as..."
this is more of a shitty local metal thing, but there is nothing that will guarantee me more that I will never attend a show

Name 1 song like this

No joke. They may as well say "this band played a small stage at a fest that was playing at"

>(Skit)

Two separate songs but still applies

Not pop but holy shit they fucked this up youtube.com/watch?v=WGQnW_hTosU

Oh good, I was gonna post this.

My town is so shit they're pumping up a shitty cover band festival and its full of talk like that. "the likeness of The Who and The Beatles" and just to try and convince you they're not shit "featured in 'blah blah' magazine and played to crowds in Las Vegas"

Lofi Chillhop makes me want to run into fucking traffic

I hate how this implies "we are just gonna hide our lack of talent" most of the time, or I personally feel like like it does at least.

Whoa y'all, why all the lo-fi hate?

lo-fi is lazy and poor sounding

I don't even hate low fidelity recordings when done well, but if "lo-fi" is used a descriptor or genre then it's probably bad.

>but if "lo-fi" is used a descriptor or genre then it's probably bad.

How so?

Genuinely curious, almost everything I've listen to lately could have a lo-fi tag

...

Because I suspect simply saying "Oh yeah, my music is lo-fi" is just a get out of jail free card for people with no production chops. Where-as albums that have a low fidelity aesthetic that I actually like (Enter the Wu-Tang 36 Chambers for example) aren't generally tagged as lo-fi.

I can agree with this

Ah, so it's the old "I don't believe you put as much effort in this as you say you did"

That's like 450 empty calories, what kind of a degenerate would eat this

>fun

I'm not really questioning the amount of effort, but rather their actual talent.

Also I'm saying that using "lo-fi" to actually describe the music, rather than it simply being low fidelity, indicates creative bankruptcy and a lack of substance or personality to the music itself. Be honest, most "lo-fi" music is generic as fuck.

Fuck off back towards reddit. Lofi is the most boring talentless and uncreative shut in earth. There are 20 million "lofi" artists and they all look, act, and sound the exact same.

Nah he's kinda right. A lot of people who don't know how to mix and master at all just record random shit in their bedroom and pass it off as lo-fi. There's a difference.

What's the most interesting talent-filled and creative shit in earth?

Jazz

So where does that put lofi Jazz?

>"Post" genres

sminem

what

:(

>It's post-core

>can't into Breakcore
sad

>Be honest, most "lo-fi" music is generic as fuck.
Yeah, it's almost like the people who are recording music with cheap equipment are new at it.

damn

haha wtf

>watery synths

>dreamy synths

>It's a sex skit

Which completely proves my point about labeling their music as "lo-fi" being an excuse.

>DUDE

i really wanted to like this during the first 13 seconds but turned it off by 25. This dude has such an unappealing voice

>music

Really makes you think

>
THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAID ABOUT OMD?

>no [something]

>THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAID ABOUT OMD?
What did he mean by this?

>Oblivion NPC

Idk man, ariel pink anyone? Wouldn't describe it as lofi mainly but still

chill makes me cringe everytime

Japanese post-hardcore vibe rock sounds pretty sweet desu

>It starts with Post or Math
>Shitty photoshop collage and cg grey human bodies.
>Ironic reddit bullshit sound collage genres
>millenial whoop
>mumble rap anything
>long-ass intro on a fucking death metal album
>ska

But dooms skits have his sickest beats

It's incredibly easy to make a passable-sounding mix yourself, even with something barbaric like a single mic and Audacity
People are just too lazy to do that so that record through their iphone and use the "oh it's supposed to sound like shit" to excuse themselves from criticism of an important part of the musical experience

It works for a very few bands but every bedroom-indie project in my scene and I imagine most other scenes has fallen for it.

>progressive

>ends with step

stop

Still in jazz

Why tf his neck so damn long?

GOOD LORD I CANT STOP LAFFIN
