As for heavy metal, that's generational and there will be more of it. I suppose us graybeards should try and educate ourselves, but it's like Balkan girl groups--I'd be a fool to try and like everything. Myself, I've always just considered metal an offshoot of hard rock, which wasn't always a metal-aligned category. To that end, I preferred the knee-jerk sexism of GNR I to the asshole existentialism of GNR II. I put James Hetfield out of his misery inside of five plays--life is short and I found it getting shorter with every song.

rust in peace exists

Fuck you Ride the Lightning or any of the cliff stuff is way better. That album was decent but imo marked their downward spiral towards commercialism and more marketable metal.

Next to possibly Garage Inc. this is the LAST Metallica album worth listening to.

I saw them in 91 when they toured this album. Had a great time, but I'll NEVER see another Metallica concert again. And why should I? I saw them when they were still GOOD and STILL CARED about their fans!

get lost grandpa

Get off my lawn, you young whippersnapper, and take that crappy nu-metal shit with you!

Our generation KNEW GOOD MUSIC! Fuck that Linkin Park, Korn, Limp Bisquit shit you young kids listen to and claim to like nowadays.

Back in MY day, the bands KNEW how to ROCK!

You back sass me again, you're gonna get a whuppin'!

NOW GIT!

see (So close to quads, and yet, so far.....)

This, Countdown to Extinction and Sound of White Noise can only possibly be described as "buttmetal". It's as if Nickelback decided to go metal.

>Our generation KNEW GOOD MUSIC!
>Back in MY day, the bands KNEW how to ROCK!
I cringed.
See

Megadeth have plenty of albums worse than Countdown.

...

Yes but it's the turnpoint at which they started making MTV/radio metal. Symphony of Destruction is right up there with Enter Sandman as one of the quintessential buttmetal songs.

I saw Metallica in 96 and they were shit then, fucking Korn opened and blew them away. The late 90s tours were when they cut their hair, start wearing wife beaters and mud-splattered guitars and referring to themselves as 'Tallica. Also reciting scripted arena rock cliches at every show.

>implying metallica's black album is better than any pantera album.
WTF are you smoking?

Pantera were even worse, they ruined metal for an entire decade with their tough guy bullshit. Fuck Phil and Dimefag, neither of them should have ever been musicians.

Any kyuss album

Because they are still kick ass

Painkiller by Judas Priest was way better than this

Metallica ends after Kill em All bro

obvious bait

see Is that off the new album?
If that's what they're doing, I'd go see them again, as long as they don't do any of their 90s stuff. I also heard Death Magnetic is decent, but I got so disappointed with their music and attitudes in the 90s and the 00s that I basically wrote them off.

get of load of this faggot
pic related is real 90's kino metal

>Metallica ends after Kill em All bro
the only good thing metallica ever put out was that demo tape with Dave Mustaine still on lead guitar

they sold out when they hired Kirk

Metallica ends with Leather Charm, bro

Why are they so crass, bros?

Pantera just might be the most overrated metal band of all time. They were OK at best

Too generic

how?

Everything on that album was already done on the previous Cannibal Corpse album

Do you even listen to Death Metal?
