gonna be boring and say guitar, because that's just being honest. I like cello a lot too though. kind of a sucker for harmonica

gonna start looking for bandmates soonish, going to more shows etc. recording soon, have all the songs I'm interested in having on the new album done. dunno when it'll be out though

got the chance to listen to this more recently. some really good ideas in there for sure, you know the rest of my feelings on your potential tho

I try to talk to people a good bit whenever I post, but my lack of sugarcoating seems to have gotten on a few peoples' nerves. is what it is

You're too slow!

>Y'all keep linking my 4am rant but the gag is I post in here too

Lovely

I know, I don't have autoupdate on
You mentioned that we can't have a controlled group thingy as long as we have 3 threads every day. There's 8ch where the self promo threads are at around 500 replies, and are 3 years old. Literally no one gives feedback or cares about others. They just dump and leave, you can't enforce anything in there if they're not breaking rules.
We can't have a proper community here on 4chin or on any other image boards.

Baritone saxophone. I really want to learn saxophone one day, it's the most patrician instrument to exist

there for the listening

The problem with 8ch is a number of active users on the Sup Forums board which is very low. Plus, I've added that these threads should be up only for a week. After that time a new thread would be created.

Umm... Totally not for me first of all. I think that the mix is a tad bit quiet which is something worth looking into. There is a bit of the quite obvious MIDI sounds which I'm not a fan of. You should work on improving their sounds by some more effect manipulation or something along those lines. The composition itself is quite "fun" but I would really have to suppress myself for not calling it "vidia music". The instrument selection is also quite neat if we exclude the entry of the strings to the tracks which doesn't sound well. That might be the case of the mixing.
Outside of that: a few nitpicks to be a prick:
1. The album artwork is... generous. And not in a good way. It doesn't express the type of sound presented, at least to me.
2. >Email me for the Lyrics
Why? Are they that special? Doesn't make much sense to me. Why not add them to the track? If they are too long then they definitely should be included in the download but at the first glance it doesn't seem to be a case.
3. Why only some of the tracks includes alternative covers? Why not go all in with this?
4. The multiple usage of "Our Hero" is kind of cringe-y at times.
5. 12 dollars.

THE MELLOTRON

This is just chopped and slopped music, it's whatever to me desu
I don't like metal desu so I feel wrong saying anything. I mean it sounds like every other metal song and the mixing is decent it's not bad but could use work
Armadillo reminds me of some classic Alex G. I say focus on that becuase everything else is just loud and off putting truth be told. The melodies are nice but it's just "wall of noise, I heard Loveless" shoegaze which is boring to me desu
Okay not to be mean but this just sounds like sounds to me. I get like that's what you were going for, but I listened to Cocaine Death once in my life and it was't for me.
I'm sure there's an audience for this it's just not me.
I hate long ambient music it sounds so pretentious. Like damn this shit is so boring, it's just faint piano where nothing happens for 10 minutes.
This is good ambient:
youtube.com/watch?v=3hd3X3eIkq0
youtube.com/watch?v=nl6HuM0Ik_Y
youtube.com/watch?v=Q0UMnxmMAZ8
Notice how there's always something there for your attention to gravitate towards do stuff like that. There's an ebb and flow that is lost in these 10 minute pieces

Sorry to hear that, I aimed for an intense psychedelic sound
Thank you for checking out!

Thanks for checking me out either way!

>Like damn this shit is so boring
I love how making a long tracks designed especially to be played as a background thingy and literally calling it a Muzak is call up as being pretentious.

>This is good ambient
I beg to differ but that's just falls on the personal preferences. For me, for example, any ambient with rhythm and "twee" is quite unlistenable. That's why I'm going back "to the roots" per say and give myself some space with some tape loops. I think good ambient music stands perfectly when you can't really notice it or when you can attach such music into any environment and feel like it's adding to the ambiance rather than taking a whole of it. It might be pretentious but hell, this world is ridiculous anyway. While the tracks presented are great examples of making a short-form ambient that doesn't necessary give them any advantage over long pieces which I just prefer much more than short snippets. But anyhow...

>Newport 100's
As a speaker listener I've got nothing from that track. I think, even though the headphone listen is preferable in that instance I do have to say that in your mixing you need to think about also us speaker guys. Gonna skip to another track.

>Your Favorite Color
I don't know anything in regards to hip-hop so get it with a pinch of salt. All I can say is that it didn't "got me". It either lacks a punch or something which could be catchy in an instance. There is some class with that ambiance but that's about it - hi-hats doesn't do anything for me neither the beats which are, again, lacking a punch. And that strange feeling occurs - it's not minimal enough to get it as a chill track nor is it too complex to dive yourself into the technicality of it all. I'm not saying it lacks focus but it doesn't seems to add anything new to the table as far as I can see while being on several SC threads now.

Don't apologize, you did nothing wrong. Not everyone's gonna like your music, yeah I was kinda a dick but don't say sorry about it.

Guys, let's be honest - recs are meaningless. Give feedback to people you like and to new guys, don't be like that.

Damn I never thought that my mixing was tailored towards headphones. I guess your right but my speakers never had a problem picking up the 808s etc.

Nah and I get what you're saying I meat to sing over these but couldn't produce something I was content with so instead of wasting another year I figured I'd just put them out

qqq-music.bandcamp.com/

Hey - Ima be commenting. thanks for listening!

>analog synthy ect ect emusic

thanks for listening and the constructive criticism. yes someof the songs i am not all that happy with after the fact, everything was a work in progress and something new i tried on each song. some are better than others and everything is far from how i wanted it to sound.
I didnt put much work into thew bandcamp page when i set it up and just forgot about the management side of things.
1. album art was what i had and felt the abstract view fit how io wanted it to.
2. lyrics are "special"
3. again not great at managing the fine details of the page.
4. "Our Hero" fits into a much larger theme and fit to me.
5. yes 12 bucks, its a lot and a lot of time went into it, 4 years. and if 12 bucks is too much then woops.

Neon clouds is really sweet. I love how the song develops and the weird vocal lines. production overall is very nice :))

very dark and cool. I think if the production was a little bit better it would really stand out.

I love the drum break towards the end of your last track :). I just personally think using that clams casino sample (or wherever he got it from) just reminds me of how good "I'm God" is lol. I think almost you should list that as a remix and not an original song

2:34 am is really sweet. I love how the percussion just swirls around me and makes me lose my sense of the downbeat. sweet stuff

I like the estan

shit i like the guitar

cool 90s feel yall. if i could do a critique i'd say project more often for vocals.
i really dig the groove on Dormente. feels like in rainbows radiohead kinda
this long as fuck but im interested so i'll listen later haha

i'm very much enjoying this. very dance-able and catchy. this album makes me feel carefree. good stuff!

is that a reversed drum sample on the first track? i dig this release, a nice mix of upbeat and mellow tracks

i've listened to a few songs on this and i'm enjoying it so far, it's very unique sounding

...

king-death.bandcamp.com/album/tape-1

i listened to the single and now im on nobody home. this is pretty good, sometimes the vocals are too low in the mix which gets annoying cause they would add a lot if you could hear them some more.
i listened to the mushroom war saga. theres a lot of stuff on it that i enjoy, the slower more mellow sections are really nice but i feel that the upbeat electronic bit that starts around the 9 minute mark feels totally out of place and even tho there are some ideas in that section that i enjoyed i think the track doesn't get back on its feet until around the 14nth minute, there it gets really good until the end, wich is pretty good btw.
also the synth that starts around the 18th minute feels super cheesy, specially when the guitar part is so good

>is that a reversed drum sample on the first track?
it's actually a reversed acoustic guitar, just that there is no strumming but hitting to make the strings move.
also thanks

i mean, im not really sure what to say about this, there are certain things that feel enjoyable but they are quickly buried on some other stuff, i still havent listened to the whole thing but i think you could cut some of the more abstract tracks and focus on the ideas that have a somewhat clearer shape. but thats just me, if you like it weird then keep it up.
>Strawberry Crime Scene
listened to the dancer ep. really dig how the first track starts building up and the general vibe of both songs, i was gonna say that untitled 1 felt a bit simple but then i saw this was a B sides thing so yeah, ill probably listen to some other album later
>Laura Lisbon
maybe the end of text me back feels too drawn out and the samples in everything happens(...) aren't very interesting but besides that this is a really solid project, very enjoyable.
