To everyone interested in John Murphy (1959-2015): mega.nz/#!fswDRSBJ!ijbzN0xh8dV5Z2AazgcEelMAYnb2kS9uk-0NX95xWRg
This archive comprises all of Murphy's solo work (Shining Vril) gathered from many neofolk / post-industrial compilations and "All My Sins Remembered", a 2016 commemorative compilation made by friends and colleagues of Murphy featuring among others Nikolas Schreck, :Of The Wand And The Moon:, Blood Axis, SPK, Genocide Organ, Die Weisse Rose and Andrew King. Profits were donated to Murphy's wife to cover for medical and funeral expenses.
I very much recommend his and Nikolas Schreck's performance "In her thrall" for a demonstration of his capabilities as an improvising live musician: youtube.com/watch?v=LHKft53rJzI

can someone post the winnie the pooh *doot doot* pic? I keep losing it.
I wonder if a bright blue suit is the right choice for a neofolk concert though. Might have to try that. I'm a bit late as well, had a bath again. Staying with my mother and stepfather and it's the one nice thing I can do here as all my friends have fled town (as have I). The other jobs you're hunting for as cool as that sperm bank gig? That Ruhr Hunter is absolutely beautiful. Downloading that and Delia Derbyshire right now. Oh, and that DI6 "documentary" is great. Have you seen Iconoclast ,the Boyd Rice doc? That one's amazing, Larry Wessel is such a unique film maker. I might upload it for the thread if people are interested. It was on Youtube once but I think it was taken down.
Jaxson Williams
nice
Michael Long
Well, he is a dandy fellow. I hope it worked.

>The other jobs you're hunting for as cool as that sperm bank gig? yea it's all phlebotomy jobs. I just want to be paid to be a vampire. i love blood and test tubes. Just got a call from a children's hospital today that's very prestigious. I'm actually surprised they called for an interview since i'm just out of school Yes I enjoy alot of wessel's work. I enjoy all of the eye's interviews and i'm glad he gets the comedic side of NON and dougie in his stuff. He also did one on steven stapleton ( nurse with wound) that was fabulous. youtube.com/watch?v=Aw1OFOJcZ4g&t=883s

Didn't even know he was behind The Eye. Found out about him through Iconoclast and found only one other film of his on soulseek, Ultrmegalopolis - a pretty cool documentary about Loas Angeles, early graffiti culture and an interview with an ex-prisonmate of Charles Manson's. Great stuff.
why does all death in june sound the same? why is he a fag? nada is good but i just dont like faggots
Christopher Gutierrez
this is the wrong genre for you then. Of the wand and moon is gay, ROME is gay, Tibet ( current 93) is bi. I mean most of the industrial scene is just gay m8

I don't think you know as much about right-wing philosophies, national socialism or the Third Reich as you think you do. This will be your last reply. We don't get involved with trolls or politics in this thread.
Ayden Diaz
Ernst Rohm was gay and he took it pretty seriously.
i dont claim to know a lot about national socialism or nazis or whatever, i just assumed these fags were just being ironic and subversive.

I've always wondered what is the meaning behind Little Black Angel? I've heard it's about the SS. youtube.com/watch?v=--7bemJNeG4
Ryan Roberts
I hope you keep making these neofolk threads lad. I enjoy them.
Nicholas Perry
Looking for a singular meaning in a DI6 song is a lost cause. SS soldiers were called "black angels", that is correct. Lines like "I want you to drink from the plenty cup", "I want you to live by the justice code", "I want you to burn down freedom's road" and "Your father, your future protects you and locks you safe from all harm" should be much more important to your interpretation though - decadence. Perhaps the angel is an SS man, the instrument of a false god (Hitler) in forging a decadent, static, prison society as opposed to the world of enduring spiritual revolution early national socialists envisioned, that died with the SA. However, the same critique could be leveled against anyone of us and towards those same tendencies of the world we live in - It really doesn't matter who the black angel is, Douglas appeals to him to think reject the decadence in favour of freedom.
Oliver Bell
he could also be talking about a lost relationship with someone, as he does in a few songs
Jacob Brown
That's true for most DI6 songs, and possibly for this one as well. Even if not, given his writing style, that is similar to Burroughs' cutup technique, it is likely that parts of such a love song were used in this. The "I" stands in harsh contrast to what Douglas embodies, judging from his other songs. The alternate line "Your father, your Führer protects you" also supports the SS angle, although the Führer more broadly interpreted as a leader of any sort could fit into the narrative of a suffocating relationship, perhaps one where Douglas was the black angel, aswell as the appeal-to-resist angle.
Also, it's a cover. Much of the lyrics and song structure are lifted from Jim Jones' People's Temple Choir's "Little Black Baby".
Joseph Fisher
I love you analysis of Douglas work. I may not be able to type good long responses but I understand what your saying. And you are correct it's pretty impossible to figure out the " true" meaning in his lyrics. only he will ever know I suppose.
