Eminem is the best metal band.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT

Whats some recent raw as fuck black metal that isn't too close to being rip offs to past bands? I feel like every big name black metal release the few years has had a very pristine sound.

Do you think the listeners are ready for this

Could probably use a better BG band, like Nightfall Over Middle Earth or A Night at the Opera.

its a gamble

Can we talk about how EXTREME the breakdown at 1:16 in this song is? youtube.com/watch?v=oAYDRUTWplA I mean god damn, Steeve Hurdle was a monster.
I feel like this song gets overlooked and it contains one of the more insane moments of the album.

is it racist to listen to pantera?

>band
Album*

best nu-metal albums IMO

It's racist to listen to anything but Jimi Hendrix.

can you phrase that question in English?

the only thing wrong with listening to pantera is enjoying anything past cowboys from hell

>stray from the path has a show in my area in like two weeks
should I go just for shits and giggles, r/metal?

Yes
and take pictures

according to cambrigde university people who listen to pantera tend to be less jewish

give me some metal with extremely high falsetto screams

...

King Diamond/Mercyful Fate

the return by bathory

I did. You just didn't read the edit.
It's not a question either. I was talking about the op pic.

it's not about the tab, but how dope you play it (and of course the earthshaking fucking equipment, as you pointed out)

what other stuff sound like this?

...

reminds me a bit of toxic holocaust in the riffing

What's your opinion on Gorguts' Obscura? I just don't get it, it's that unlistenable avant-garde music with death growls

I'M ALIVE
INSIDE YOUR WIFE

GRAAAAAAAAAANDMAAAAAAAA

just watch the video where fenriz comments over the tracks. im sure theres one for this album as well

...

No but phil is definitely racist. Make your own mind up on how you feel about that.

Leviathan's In This Slaveship

fucking died

...

i always liked ann, would put baby into her/10

who?

That's Hungarian countess Elizabeth Sunbather. The band is named after her

except sludge is fusion of hardcore and doom
which is literally what My War is

>you try to categorize your library by genres
>a band belongs to at least two subgenres

This is a situation in which foobar is the best.

I'll repeat my question

But it's more like some hardcore songs and then some doom songs. Gluey Porch Treatments was the first full blown sludge.

>Mr Bungle

I like it, but am not big on it and prefer The Erosion Of Sanity.

It literally sounds exactly like Celtic Frost

they are pretty sludge metal style hardcore songs

make a new genre named after the 2

This is what I never understood with people. Why keep such a huge library? There's very small chance I'll listen again to something from 2 or 3 years ago. And even then, it's all on YouTube.
Seems like MP3 hoarding to me.

Storage is cheap, why the fuck not? I currently have almost 68 days worth of music with over 17350 files, I just go through phases listening to some stuff at a time.

Black Metal\\Atmospheric Black Metal
The album appears under both genres seperately on foobar.

what pisses me off about Mr Bungle is that if they didnt do all the "xD RandUM" genre switches and just played weird metal, then they'd be fucking great

I've been collecting my library since before 2000.
What's wrong with you? Do you never listen to your old favorites?

it takes a while to understand, but once you actually grok the melodies and riffs it's pretty great

Aka ironic music like Residents and Ween which is taken seriously by Sup Forums because they pretend to be connoisseurs of high art

ok I'll give it a few more tries

it took me a week of listening to it on my commute every day for it to be enjoyable. It was almost like a puzzle in a way.

Don't. He's memeing you into mere exposure effect.
wank-death is shit and will never not be shit.

>why the fuck not
It has nothing to do with the limits of storage. It's simply about getting rid of the stuff you don't really need, keeping things neat and tidy.

So? First, a lot of these early MP3s were 128kbps or even shittier. Second, all of it is available online today without much hassle. Third, you probably don't listen to over 90% of it now.

Literally mad because he doesn't have a collection despite contemplating it multiple times in the past.

You mean me? Nice strawman.

No, but I listen to 10% of it and I would really miss them.

I'm quite a bit skeptical when people say "it took me 100 listens to get it". Sounds like forcing yourself to like something you don't like.
I'm still not sure if it's too complex or just unlistenable. I hear it's influential, but it doesn't mean it's good

This is a serious forum for infomative debates.
If you have nothing to contribute, please leave.

…Then don't delete it?
I mean, I have slightly around 30 gigs of music right now. Some of it for seeding. In my library I ony have around 80 albums total.
I don't even bother with tags, I remember everything from memory. If I want to find an old favorite, I go to my RYM.

>Sounds like forcing yourself to like something you don't like.
I won't lie, the first few times I listened to Obscura, I hated it. I thought they had somehow made it intentionally sound as bad as possible. Figuring out what they were trying to do was very rewarding imo.

Yeah, pot calling kettle black.
I never cared about having a library because I get tired of most stuff eventually. Had it once, don't miss 99% of it. The remaining 1% is on my hard drive now.

ok I'll try it again then

that says more about the person in their inability to contextualize the work than the work itself

>not throwing stones

>keeping things neat and tidy
Fuck off mom I don't need to make my 1s and 0s look "tidy".

Jesu is by far the worst /broadrick/ project

...

but JK Flesh is really dull
Although yeah, Jesu as far as I'm aware has had 3 good release and then everything else is very pffft.

some people listen to more than 1 album a week here

>JK Flesh is dull
Nigger
